*7:30 AM
I woke up early today because I was very excited to catch my first ever Pokemon. I packed my pokeballs and 2 potion in the bag(that's all I have) and walked towards Viridian Forest.
I saw officer Albert so I went to greet him
"Good morning officer Albert"
"Ah good morning boy, you seem to be in good mood today" he replied with a bright smile on his face.
"Yes sir, I am catching my first ever Pokemon today so I am hyped"
"Ah, good luck to you"
"Thank you mister, I will see you later." after a little chat with him I finally walked inside Viridian Forest.
With my knowledge of the game Viridian Forest does not hold strong Pokemon but while watching anime I have noticed that both game and anime have different logic to what you can find in which location.So I thought maybe in this world I might find something better than just Caterpie and Weedle.
*After few minutes of searching*
"Argh, only thing I can see here is Caterpie and Weedle."
I heard a voice coming from other side of the bush so I decided to look who it was.
There was two Pokemon trainers probably in their early teens sitting under the tree and talking to each other.
One of them saw me
"Hey, who are you?"
I walked out of bush and said
"Uh hey I am Byson a newbie Pokemon trainer."As i showed them my license
"Oh, hello my name is Adrien I am also a newbie" he replied. So I asked him
"Are you guys catching pokemon?"
"What else would we be doing here"another kid rudely replied
"Haha don't mind him,he is always like that he's my friend Cole, he is also a newbie"
"Oh no worries, if you don't mind can you show me what you have caught?"
Cole looked at me and said "You look suspicious why should we show you, also where is your Pokemon?"
"Oh sorry, but I don't have any Pokemon. Pokemon center was out of starters so I decided catch one myself so I came here." I told them with a akward smile.
"Come on Cole don't be like that, he doesn't seem like a bad guy. Ok Byson lemme show you my Pokemon." he then throws 3 pokeballs up and 3 Pokemon came out ,it is Squirtle, Caterpie and Pidgey.
"Squirtle is my first Pokemon, and i just caught Caterpie and Pidgey." Adrien says with a proud look on his face.
"Oh woah 3 already congratulations to you Adrien." It's best to congratulate these kids I guess.
"Hehe thanks, Come on Cole you also have Pokemon." Adrien looked towards Cole.
"Tsk fine, these are mine" he throws 2 pokeballs. It's a Charmander and Beedrill.(wish I had a Charmander) *sigh
I am surprised at the capability of these kids to catch Pokemon like a play thing, but should I be, they probably grew up with Pokemon since they were child. It's not like I am jealous or anything, well I maybe a little.
"Hey Byson I don't wanna be rude but aren't you little old to be a newbie and starting now to be a Pokemon trainer?" Adrien asked
"Haha I get that a lot but what can I say I just I got into pokemon a bit late I guess but better late than never, Right?" Yup here I am lying to kids with a straight face.
" Yes haha, Say why don't we help you catch your first Pokemon?we can help right Cole?" Adrien seems to be energetic all of a sudden.
"Sigh, do whatever you want."Cole replied looking a little agitated
"Really? Thank you it would be great." This will be better they have Pokemon so I will be a little safer with them.
*After searching for an hour *
It's been awhile since we started searching and I got to know these two better. They came here to catch Pokemon to test their abilities and also to gain some experience in battling even though it's against wild Pokemon. They also want to catch specific Pokemon with Cole wanting a Nidoran M/F and Adrien looking for Pikachu to set them before their journey, challenging gyms and participating in Indigo league. Seems like I have some rivals.
"Say Byson why aren't you catching anything I mean I get it that we are only finding Weedle and Caterpie but we also encountered Pidgeotto but you didn't catch it." Adrien asked with his tired expression.
"Sorry to trouble you but I want something good for my first Pokemon. I get that every Pokemon is special, but you can just call me selfish haha." I get where he's coming from I just ignored all those Pokemon because I know they won't be that strong enough to beat or compete or rather it's just my personal selfish beliefs.
"well let's keep searching" Adrien sighs disappointingly.
*I am getting babysitted by two kids.*
*Half hour later*
In amidst of searching Cole managed to find NidoranF and catch it and he seems really happy with it. It seems pokedex also helps in locating Pokemon close to you in a map like screen, though the distance is quite low. I mean pokedex here looks so hitech than the one we see regularly in games.
"Hey my pokedex just located a Pikachu nearby" Adrien shouts out of nowhere.
"Alright let's go"
As we made our way towards the location we saw a Pikachu eating a berry in the bush and damn it's as cute as in every game or anime.
"Quick throw a pokeball" Cole tells Adrien
Adrien throws a pokeball but Pikachu dodges it and starts running away ,we start to chase after it and suddenly I noticed my pokedex blinking while running I opened it to see a Pokemon nearby.
"Wtf how is..." as I was about to finish my sentence there it was right in front of us a Scyther.
"This is it.This will be my starter" I declared and to much of my surprise both Adrien and Cole brought out there Pokemon Squirtle and Charmander and said
"We will help you. We will weaken it so be ready to catch it" as they start to order their Pokemon
*Battle Mode*
Adrien: Go Squirtle use water gun.
Charmander: Ember attack.
Scyther used quick attack to dodge both moves and used Slash at Squirtle
Adrien: Squirtle use rapid spin to block it.
Both move clashed and seems like both of them took a little damaged
Cole:Charmander use smoke screen on Scyther.
Smoke cover Scyther but it flapped it's wings to blow the smoke away.
Scyther comes to attack with wing attack which land on charmander and knocks it on the ground.
Cole: No worries we can do it Charmander let's go with Ember again.
Adrien: Squirtle use rapid spin.
Scyther dodges squirtle but Charmander covered the other side and lands Ember.
Scyther seems hurt by that as fire is strong against bug type.
"Byson now's your chance" both of them looked at me.
"Alright, here goes nothing"
I threw a pokeball at Scyther it connects and goes inside it, the pokeball is still shaking *one* **two**
***three*** and *****Caught*****.
Yes!! I can't believe it, I did it, I caught my first ever Pokemon and it's one of my favourite pokemon.
This feeling is unreal.
I picked up the pokeball and showed it towards Adrien and Cole.
"Congratulations Byson on your first Pokemon" Adrien genuinely looked so happy for me
"Congrats I guess" and Cole still acting cool though I know he is buzzing inside.
"Thank you guys, it was only possible because of you. Now let's meet our new friend."
I throw the pokeball upward and here it is
"Scy Scy therrr" Ah man this is so cool also Scyther seems to have calm down from how it was earlier and amidst of that I realised something.
"Where is the fuc**ng level and stats of my Pokemon" wait what how am I suppose to know how strong he is or what move it knows or what stats it has or even it's gender well that one I can ask it directly but this is ridiculous.
while I was lost on my thoughts Adrien said
" hey I am getting hungry can we return to the city I didn't bring anything to eat."
"Ya, me too." Cole replied
"But what about Pikachu?, Adrien" I asked
"No worries I will get it next time"
"So let's go I guess" says Cole
"Sure but I don't have any money so I guess I will just go to Pokemon center"
"Well we will also visit Pokemon center with you then" says Adrien
"Fine by me" Cole agrees
And so we decided to return to Viridian City on our way I met with officer Albert and showed him my Scyther, he was surprised to see a Scyther in viridian forest, he said that it must have lost while migrating towards Vermilion forest and I was quite lucky to find it.
After that we went to Viridian City and much to my surprise I got invited by Adrien and Cole for lunch they are paying( Man it's hard to be broke) but we went to Pokemon center first to heal our Pokemon then after knowing I was new in the city they took me to a little city tour and I exchange contact with Adrien and Cole through Pokedex which can also be used as mobile phone, quite the multy Tasker huh. Both of them went their home after that and I went back to Pokemon center as that's the only place for me right now I really need to make some money and after leaving my Scyther with nurse Joy I went to the small single bed room of mine to take the much needed rest.
