Chapter 246 - Chapter 246

Maria felt as though a truck just ran through her. She didn't know if she heard him well, so she looked at everyone, and the look on their faces confirmed her fears to her.

"What did you just say?" Maria asked Williams, and he nodded his head without looking at her.

"You heard me right, Maria. I want a divorce. I have suppressed myself all these years because of the children. They are all grown now, and I'm sure they will understand that I a life too, and I want to pursue my own happiness." Williams said, and Grace walked up to her dad and gave him a hug.

She's not sure if she wants her parents to get a divorce. But she sure wants her dad to be happy. And now that he has found the woman he loves, she doesn't know how to feel about it.

"You can't do that to me, Williams. I'm your wife, we have been married for thirty years now." Maria reminded him.

"Exactly! That's how long I have been unhappy. That's how long I have lived in regret, and I'm not willing to do that anymore. I'm sorry, Maria, but this is our new reality." Williams yelled.

"You knew what you were getting into when you separated Whitney and I. And like a fool, I allowed her go, I lost the only woman I love. I won't make such a foolish mistake ever again" Williams concluded, and Maria dropped on the floor crying.

There's no way she's going to allow Whitney to take away everything she has built over the years. She's going to ruin her, but for now, she needs to act pitiable.

"Don't do this, Williams. Don't ruin the happy family we have built together all these years. I'm sure your children would not want that." Maria said and looked up at Chris, Grace, and Kyle, hoping for them to help her, but there was only silence from their end.

"Come on, Mom, let's go to your room. We will all discuss this tomorrow when everyone has calmed down." Grace said. She wasn't comfortable with the scene she was seeing.

"No, I can't leave your father alone with Whitney. She's going to make him hate me." Maria said, and Jane scoffed. She can't believe the show she's putting on.

"Nothing like that is going to happen. Let's go, Mom." Grace said and dragged Maria with her, even though she was reluctant to go.

Mike waited behind for Grace. He wanted to see her before he left for home. He wasn't able to speak to her before at the party of Patricia.

"Dad, Jane and I are going to retire for the night at the villa. We will back tomorrow morning, I want to believe you will stay the night with Mrs Whitney and look after her." Chris asked his father.

"Yes son, I can't leave her alone for even a second." Williams said. He's going to make up for all the years he was not able to spend with her.

"Mike, we will be on our way now. Jack stay here at the mansion and let me know if there's anything that needs my attention. Where are the kids? I haven't seen them all day?" Chris asked and Jane nodded her head.

It's been three days she saw Chris and Jane. The whole event of the day made it impossible for her to even think of the children. Now she feels guilty for neglecting them.

"I asked Thelma to stay with them in their room." Grace answered as she walked towards them.

"Thank you so much, Miss Grace, for taking care of the children." Jane said, and Grace frowned.

"Miss Grace? It's Grace to you now. Have you forgotten you married my brother a few hours ago?" Grace asked her, and Jane blushed.

"Well I'm not used to it yet. Chris, don't you think we should stay the night? Your dad might be looking after Mrs Whitney, but we need to look after the children. Besides, we have not seen them in days." Jane complained.

"You don't have to worry about that, I'm going to take care of the children. I will stay with them. Besides, Thelma is here. You can see the children tomorrow. It's no big deal" Grace assured her.

"Are you sure this is okay?" Jane asked. She would not like to be a burden to Grace. Besides, she misses the children so much.

"Of course it's okay. Listen to your sister in law and spend the night with your husband. It's our wedding night." Chris whispered the last part into her ears, and Jane ears grew red.

"Now off you go you two." Grace said and they all laughed out loud, releasing the tension of the moment.

"It's been one crazy night. Dad you should retire, I will come check on you and Mrs Whitney later on." Grace said and Williams agreed. He turned around and entered the room.

"I heard my brother ask you to spend the night. I will have Estella prepare you a room." Grace said facing Jack.

"Thank you, I will be outside in the garden." Jack said and walked away.

"We will see you tomorrow, goodnight. And Mike, this is my house, try not to make out with my sister in my house." Chris warned jokingly.

"Chris!" Grace glared and Chris chuckled. He took Jane's hand and they walked out of the mansion side by side leaving Grace alone with Mike.

"Hey pretty," Mike said and grabbed Grace's waist, pulling her closer to him.

"Hey stop that. Someone might be watching. We have a lot of people around." Grace complained shyly even though she liked it.

"I don't care, and frankly, I can't wait to be able to touch you like this in the open and declare to everyone that you are the love of my life." Mike said, and Grace giggled.

"Well too bad because you can't do that." Grace's face fell as she said that.

"I will be able to soon enough. I refuse to live my life in regret. The only reason I married Patricia was because of the baby back then. The baby didn't make it, so there's no reason being with her anymore. We both don't love each other." Mike said.

"What are you saying, Mike?" Grace asked him.

"I'm getting a divorce." Mike said.
