Zain was surprised that he was here calling his name, he wondered what he must have done this time.
"Good evening Mr Chris." Zain greeted as though he was just seeing him for the first time today.
"Uhmm Zain, I'm sorry for my attitude back inside. I wasn't thinking and only acted on impulse," he said and Zain only nodded, it's such a surprising thing that Mr Chris apologized.
"I know you love Jane, and I want to thank you for taking care of her and protecting her all those years that I wasn't present in their lives." he began.
"I'm sorry that things didn't go your way and I hope that you find love elsewhere," he said and crossed his arms over his chest waiting for Zain to say something.
"Thank you, Mr Chris, please take care of them both," he said and Chris nodded.
"I promise that I will and I will protect them with my life," Chris said and he meant every word.
"That's good to know, excuse me," Zain said and left.
"You are free to resume work at any time." Chris shouted after him and headed back inside.
Chris met Jane, Grace and Whitney still in the ward and they were laughing and already talking about some wedding. He likes the sound of what he's hearing cause it will be taking place very soon.
"So what's going on here?" Chris asked and kissed Jane on the lips. Jane is still very shy and still not used to all the public displays but she doesn't seem to have a choice in the matter.
"Uhmm nothing really, we were just talking about some stuff." she said to him.
"We were talking about your wedding, tell me how you both want it to be. I will gladly be your wedding planner." Grace said and they all laughed over her words.
"Good evening sir," Jack made his way into the ward, he was happy to see Jane finally awake. He didn't know if he should hug her or not.
Even though he still hasn't done the DNA test yet, he can't help but still regard her in his heart as his sister. He knows that she is, and and now that she's awake. He should probably discuss the whole thing with her.
"Hello Jack, good evening. Are you here with the reports?" he asked him and Jack nodded.
"Yes sir, and I also found something else. About the fake news making rounds on the internet about your engagement to Miss Angel." Jack said.
"Tell me what you've got," Chris said.
"Uhmm actually, the blog they found the rumour from is known for always spreading fake news and I still could not uncover his true identity. However I have been able to associate his blog with different big news over the years. I think he's a hacker and he's been paid to get that news out." Jack began to explain while the rest of them listened to him very carefully.
"So?" Chris asked him, he's very impatient and he wanted to know how the whole thing went.
"So I checked the blog and series of people that have commented on it. It's only normal that whoever might have given him the job wants to know how it's going." Jack said.
"I found some weird accounts and traced the PI address and one of them corresponded to the PI of the Smith mansion," Jack said and they were all shocked.
"You mean someone in the house might have done this?" Grace asked.
"Yes, I believe so too, the comment of the person said the news is true and she also saw Mr Chris and Angel loved up in public recently," Jack said.
"And it's only reasonable because the picture that was used was taken in the mansion. Someone definitely must have taken that picture." Jack concluded.
"Mom!!!" Grace said.
"You think it could be Mom?" Chris asked her.
"She's the only own with the motive to do such a thing, she has been asking you to marry Angel lately. And if Angel was with you in that picture, that could only mean Mom took the picture." Grace said.
"I can't believe this, I have to end all of this madness very soon and there's only one way," Chris said.
"Which is?" Jane asked him, she's also very bothered about the whole thing. Now that she's sure she's in love with him, a lot of obstacles are already showing up.
"Jane and I are getting married in two months," he said and Jane's eyes widened with shock.
"What!!" Jane was utterly shocked.
Chris went to sit beside her and held her hands.
"Jane listen to me now, I love you and nothing in the world is going to change that. And I'm willing to fight anyone just to be with you, and I don't care about any other thing." Chris said.
"So I need you to trust me in any decision that I make, do you understand?" he asked her and she nodded.
"Yes," Jane simply said, even though her heart was troubled. She couldn't help but feel peace as she looked into his eyes.
Chris kissed her briefly on the lips and smiled at her.
Mike heard everything that Chris had said to Jane and he couldn't help but feel sad. He wants to be able to express his love to Grace publicly in this way as well.
He wants to do right by the woman he loves and he's going to do that today. He's getting divorced from Patrica, enough of the sham he calls a marriage.
"Mrs Whitney, you would be needing to stay with me tonight. Grace and I never to go home and put some things in place, we will be back tomorrow." Chris said.
"That's not a problem, please bring the kids along with you when coming tomorrow." Mrs Whitney said.
"Of course, I will make sure of it. Tell her we needed to rush home." Chris said and kissed Jane on the forehead.
"If you don't mind, I will stay the night as well," Jack said.
"You sure about that?" Chris asked surprised.
"Yes, Mrs Whitney shouldn't be alone," Jack said.
