Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Encounter

"How could I possibly know someone so important?" Polly Sutton looked surprised. Knowing Victor Parker? Impossible, absolutely impossible!

The professor called, and Emma Turner answered.

"Have Polly prepare to return to City A early. President Parker said he was pleased with Polly's previous designs and is considering having her focus on design at The Parker Family's, for better communication."

Emma Turner glanced at Polly Sutton with a hint of a smile, as if saying, "You still dare to claim you don't know him under such circumstances."

Polly Sutton's timid little fist clenched again, grumbling about how Victor Parker doesn't play by the rules.

Regardless of whether Victor Parker plays by the rules, Polly Sutton was sent to the airport the next day, with the professor and the others looking as if they were sending a child off to college entrance exams, just waiting for the glory she would bring them in two months.

After escorting Polly Sutton through the ticket gate, the professor, along with Emma Turner and the senior brother, turned back towards the construction site without any hesitation.

Polly Sutton: "..."

"Upgrade Mrs. Parker's cabin class."

Polly Sutton instinctively took a big step back when Victor Parker approached, pouting and glaring at him, "You're going back on your word."

"How did I go back on my word? Mr. Walker doesn't know about our relationship." Victor Parker looked at the puffed-up little blowfish in front of him, surprisingly in a rather good mood.

"You..." Polly Sutton took a deep breath. She finally realized where Benny got all his scheming ways. Irked and flustered, she quickly took out a document from her bag, "Sign it."

Victor Parker looked at the papers thrust onto him; it was the first time someone dared to make him sign like this.

"From the date of the contract, Polly Sutton agrees to act alongside Victor Parker to drive away women Victor dislikes. When the contract expires, Victor Parker must sign a divorce agreement, promising no further connection between them, along with a compensation fee of thirty million dollars for Polly Sutton. Contracted parties: Polly Sutton, Victor Parker." Victor read aloud word by word, full of disdain when looking at Polly Sutton.

There was no hiding his genuine expression that he'd never seen such a lousy contract before.

A handwritten contract, with its rounded childish font, is this even considered a contract?

"Why within a year?"

"If you find true love within a year, even better, but with someone like you..." It's best suited for a lifetime of loneliness. She's not stupid; she couldn't bear to keep driving away his annoying women forever.

Victor Parker looked at her, and Polly Sutton shivered, quickly hiding behind Andrew Lindsey, who had just returned from upgrading the cabin class, "Well, doesn't every collaboration have a term limit?"

"Come out."

"No." Polly Sutton looked at the crowd and couldn't believe he would make a scene in public.

Andrew Lindsey stood frozen with cold sweat, thinking, "Even if you want to hide, don't hide behind me!"

"You sign first. Only when you sign will we consider it a collaboration." Polly Sutton pointed at the flimsy paper, determined not to come out unless he signed it.

Victor Parker glanced at Andrew Lindsey, who immediately, trembling, handed over a pen.

With a flourish, Victor Parker signed his flamboyant signature next to her childish script, then handed it to Polly Sutton.

Polly Sutton cautiously stepped out from behind Andrew Lindsey, tiptoed to glance at his signature, and only then reached for it. Yet, as she reached, Victor Parker pulled it back, "Who writes a contract in a single copy?"

Polly Sutton: "..."

Thus, on the plane to City A, Victor Parker closed his eyes to rest, while Polly Sutton leaned over the small table to painstakingly handwrite the contract again.

Frustration filled her, a genius little sweetheart in architecture, never had she suffered such indignation.

What cures worry? Only Duke Jones.

So, as Polly wrote, she fell asleep over the little table, dreaming of a hero slaying a dragon like Victor.

All the kids at Daisy Joy Kindergarten had been picked up by their parents, except for little Tommy and little Benny, who were still waiting for Professor Lynn's wife to fetch them.

Tommy was jumping up and down on the steps, while Benny frowned, staring at the advertising screen across the street, fixated on the man displayed there.

"Benny, what are you looking at?" Tommy asked, running over and pinching his brother's chubby cheeks.

Benny furrowed his little brow; he didn't understand why both his mom and brother liked to pinch his face. Every protest only encouraged them to do it more.

"Nothing, Mrs. Lynn is here; let's go." Benny took his brother's hand and, with short little legs, walked towards Professor Lynn's wife.

"Benny, you should smile more. If you keep that frown, you'll turn into a little old man." Tommy made funny faces in front of Benny, trying to cheer him up.

Benny maintained a straight little face, looking at his goofy brother, sighed a tiny sigh, and held onto his brother's hand, "Watch the road."

Mr. Walker's wife, Professor Lynn, had been helping take care of Benny and Tommy since retiring.

"Grandma, who's that?" Benny pointed to the big screen's man and asked.

Professor Lynn glanced at it and said, "Oh, him? That's Victor Parker, a very powerful businessman."

"Wow, does that mean he's really rich?" Only then did Tommy look seriously at the person on the screen, eyes almost sparkling with little golden stars.

Professor Lynn laughed, patting Tommy's little head. Though the two boys looked identical, their personalities were worlds apart, one naive and money-loving, the other quiet and deep.

Victor Parker, Benny lowered his little head, etching that name into his memory.

As soon as the plane landed, Polly Sutton dashed off, disappearing in a flash.

Victor Parker watched her run off, "For such short legs, she runs pretty fast."

Andrew Lindsey: "..."

Is nearly five foot seven considered short legs? He was perplexed.

But looking at their CEO's towering six-foot-six frame, he understood.

Polly Sutton ran all the way out of the airport, saw no one following, not even a shadow, and immediately composed herself, striding out with confidence.

"Quick, quick, it's Michael Knight!"

A group of young girls with support banners swarmed in, jostling Polly Sutton so she spun around several times, dropping her notebook on the ground.

"My laptop." Polly Sutton cried out, hastily trying to retrieve her notebook.

The notebook slid to a halt at someone's feet, and Polly Sutton was pushed right towards him.

"Ouch," Polly exclaimed as she finally managed to grab her laptop, only to bump into a man's leg.

The surroundings seemed to quiet down instantly, and the throng of fans watched the woman who fell on Michael Knight, wishing their eyes could cut her to pieces. That was Michael Knight, their Michael Knight, and this woman actually fell onto him.

"Miss, are you alright?" Michael Knight took off his sunglasses, asking gently.

Polly Sutton's foot hurt from being stepped on, her shoulder from the bump. "Who do you think you are? Don't you know that in public spaces—" Her voice grew softer as she and the bent-down Michael Knight were only inches apart, close enough to see his flawless skin and detect the faint blue scent on him. "—it's crowded with people."

Michael Knight was briefly stunned, seemingly not expecting his fan to have such high beauty standards, far surpassing actress levels.

"Sorry." Coming back to his senses, Michael Knight extended his hand to help Polly Sutton up.

Polly Sutton looked at the pale, sleek hand stretched out to her, clutching her laptop. But before she could reach for it, someone pulled her up directly...
