Ms Ward was surprised when she heard about this, but then, considering Alexander Franklin's past, she seemed to understand a bit.
"From this incident, you can see that the child is carefree, acting on impulse, without thinking about the future. It's not that he doesn't see the long term, he just hasn't considered it. That child, unloved since young by his parents, has no feeling for himself or anyone else. It's hardly surprising since he hasn't experienced such things, nor has anyone taught him. So, he doesn't understand his own value or the meaning of life."
"To think he didn't stray off course and still lives freely is evidence of his inherently good nature—a child who's able to keep his heart steady. If only he were born into our family."
Ms Ward sighed.
"Well, isn't he going to be our family's child in the future?" the old man said with a smile.
