Chapter 437 - Preparing for the Competition

Jayr POV - Solomon, Lord of the Universe - ???

Shortly after comfirming the end of the malicious entity known as Unicron, I quickly reign in my Spiral Cosmo, and so my Gunmen immediately gets out of its Tengen Toppa form and returns back to its Space Gunmen form simply called GunCraterGar, which is basically the same with the simple difference that it is "only" 1300 km tall and that the energy storm coming out of its head is now bright green.

At the same time, my Digimon Incarnation also restrains his energy, making the immense body of Grace Novamon briefly shine in a bright white light before quickly reducing in size and returning to the Perfect Level Aegiochusmon.

The next moment, as my Digimon Incarnation teleports back to GunCraterGar's other cockpit, I notice that my friends from the Tengen Toppa Dai Gurren Brigade are also doing the same as their Tengen Toppa Gunmen return to their regular form while commenting.

"Damn it! Jayr and Reiki's final move brought up some bad memories... I almost soiled my pants seeing the Infinity Big Bang Storm!"

"Don't be a chicken! We already survived one before! And this time it wasn't even directed at us..."

"That's right! It was so cool!"

"Guys! Don't relax yet! Even if the big bad dude is gone, that doesn't mean we are done yet!"

Hearing that, I immediately agree and say, "Simon is right! We have to go back and make sure to clean up the remaining enemy forces!"

Shortly after saying that, I directly open a portal that will lead us back to Rimuru's Universe, still contained within my Ultimate Skill Solomon, and without wasting any more time, I jump into it with the Tengen Toppa Dai Gurren Brigade following after me.

Once on the other side of the portal, I quickly realize that there isn't much for us left to do.

Out in the immensity of the space, all the forces of the Champion of Power are getting obliterated by the combined might of the people from the Dragon Ball Multiverse.

Goza, Goku, Gohan, Vegeta, Nappa, Broly, and the other Z Fighters are simply way too overbearing and powerful for what is left of the Champion of Power army.

In addition to that, there are also the Pride Troopers who masterfully cover any gap left open by the Z Fighters' disorganized battles with their teamwork and immense power, while the warriors of the 3rd and 2nd Universe supported them.

Meanwhile, back on the Central World, the combined force of the inhabitants of the Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken Universe also valiantly fought back, especially with the support of major players like my adopted sister Milim, the Demon Lords, the True Dragons, the Primordials, the Angels, and so on, who led them.

On top of that, Seiya, Shun, Shiryu, Ikki, Hyoga, Orphèe, and the Steel Saint also perfectly did their part by taking out the most fearsome opposition; they were so efficient that the Gold Saint didn't even have to make a move and simply stood by my wives' side, protecting them.

And of course, one can't forget about all the other friends who came to this universe and also perfectly did their part.

Like the Specters and Eri's Undead, who made use of their innate advantages to fight off most of Nurgle's Daemons while perfectly ignoring his tempting words and shrugging off his disgusting influence.

Or my Uncle-in-Law Poseidon and his Marinas, who dominated all the battles that took place underwater, making it impossible for the forces of the Champion of Power to launch any surprise attack using the waterways to their advantage.

Naturally, Poseidon didn't directly fight, but he kept purifying all the water sources, fighting off the Chaos Gods' corruption.

Then there are the people of Tortus and the Apostoles led by Freid, Herst, the Liberators, and Hajime who spread themselves all over the Central World to fight off the armies of the Champion of Power who attacked less protected and important places like villages, towns, and other smaller undefeaded locations making full us of the massive amount of monsters and golem at their disposal.

And let's not forget about the Digimon from the Bidi Brigade, and the Royal Knights who also fought off the enemy forces with overwhelming power, in addition to the Doom Slayer who slaughtered any Daemon in his area, and Saitama who outright obliterated the Chaos God Slaanesh while his friend took care of the other Daemons and mechanical enemies.

And after some time, all that is awaiting us here is silence.

For the first time in what felt like forever, the battlefield is silent, no more Daemons shrieking, no more mechanical titans clashing, no more Gods roaring.

Just the broken, ruined world beneath me, with split continents and burning skies, oceans boiled away and cities left in ruins, and the rest of the universe isn't in a much better shape, with broken planets, extinct stars, entire galaxies gone, and even the very fabric of reality ripped apart and messily patched up.

Unicron is gone, the Champion of Power is gone, the Chaos Gods are gone; however, Rimuru's universe as a whole is wounded, and in its current state, it won't survive for even 10 years. In fact, it isn't even able to barely sustain life.

I drift above the shattered Central World, the Spiral Engine of GunCraterGar humming softly in the background, and then, I close my eyes.

The Spiral Cosmo within me flares as I fully connect to my Ultimate Skill Solomon and to the system ruling over the Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken Universe, the Voice of the World, who readily answers my call.

Threads of existence unravel before me, each one a wound in reality, then I stretch out my hand and begin weaving them back together using my divine will and my authority.

After all, within Solomon, everything follows my will, and as the admin of the Voice of the World, I have the utmost authority over the whole Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken Universe, as I basically took the place of its late creator.

In response to my will, continents rise from the oceans, mountains reform, rivers run again, storms die down, fires smother, and the rift in the heavens left behind by the enemy invasion begins to fully close and mend. Piece by piece, the universe heals under my Divine Will.

But restoration is not enough; the battlefield is littered with the dead, people who had fought bravely to protect this universe, innocents who had been caught in the crossfire, even those who, despite their limited power, had given everything they could to resist the invasion and sacrificed themselves.

I take full advantage of the fact that Rimuru's universe is still contained within Solomon, thus cut off from the rest of the Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken Universe, and once again impose my Divine Will as my Spiral Cosmo spreads over touching everything as I cast a combination of Spirit Magic and Restoration Magic.

One by one, souls answers the call, I cleanse them in the case they were corrupted by the Warp and the influence of the Chaos Gods, restore them if they have been damaged, even in the most extreme of the cases where only a very small piece of it remained, then pull them back into their original bodies, reignite the spark of life, and fully return them to the world of living.

Shortly after, screams filled the air once again, but this time, screams of shock and joy.

Families reunite and embrace, friends collapse into each other's arms, lovers happily kiss each other, whole regiments rise from where they have fallen, and thanks to my connection to my Ultimate Skill Solomon and the Voice of the World, I feel their every emotion flood into me: gratitude, relief, awe, it is almost overwhelming.

I exhale, releasing the hold my Ultimate Skill has on Rimuru's Universe, as after carefully setting it back in its place in the Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken Universe, I smile and whisper, "Welcome back."

Jayr POV - Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken Universe, Central World, Magic Continent, Great Jura Forest, Tempest - 2013 AMB

Some time passed, the dead are alive again, the world has been restored, and for once since I've arrived in this universe, we can all finally breathe and fully relax.

Rimuru insisted on having a huge celebration, and of course, nobody argued, and after a few days of preparation, the Great Jura Forest bloomed with music, food, and laughter.

Long tables of the Omniverse's best cooking stretch as far as the eye can see, mugs of ale, beers, wine, and all other kinds of beverages clinking, fireworks sparkling in the sky.

I sit with my wives, Milim, and Digimon Partners, finally able to relax and enjoy the festive atmosphere.

Paul sits nearby, unusually quiet, though a faint smile tugs at the edge of his face. Saitama is demolishing plates of food like a machine with Goku and the other Saiyans, occasionally muttering about how "this is the best food he has ever tasted and that for once, missing a discount isn't so bad."

Aletha leans against her chair, eyes closed, enjoying the warmth of the fire and drink as she tries to seduce Fubuki, who seems to be unsure of how to act while Tatsumaki tries to protect her sister.

Hajime, Yue, and his harem sit together, not saying much, but they don't need to; their bond is stronger than ever, and simple gestures like lewdly holding hands or exchanging a simple gaze are more than enough for them to fully communicate.

However, there is a fun addition to their group, THE Doom Slayer, who is calmly sitting with them, drinking some beer while a cute horned rabbit sits on his lap as he watches over Shea like some guardian angel, making me smirk while thinking, 'Yup... If there is one thing that the Doom Slayer loves more than killing demons is without any doubt cuddling cute rabbits. After all, he still remembers and loves his late pet, Daisy. It was kinda heartwarming watching the Doom Slayer ferociously rip demons apart while also secretly protecting Shea. At one point, the area around Shea was almost fully devoid of enemies.'

There are Nikita and Zandeer, who are halfway through challenging Kamina and Yoko to a drinking contest, with Rimuru cheering them both on.

Nellika, Joichi, and Iggy are casually talking with some of the Pride Troopers while Jiren is discussing martial arts with Hakuroi, Kanon, Master Dohko, and Shion.

Many others, like the Marinas, the Steel Saints, the Bidi Troopers, and so on, are simply having fun playing many games and contests, or simply turning their techniques into spectacular fireworks.

Then there are those who are singing to their heart's content to release all the bottled-up emotions.

For a moment, it feels like all the overwhelming pressure has lifted.

We laugh, we share stories, we allow ourselves to remember that beyond all the wars, gods, and destruction, we are still people, and I allow myself to let my guard down as I know that I'm surrounded by friends and that there is no immediate danger at the moment, which makes a satisfied smile form on my face.

The next day, after fully enjoying the party, one by one, the people of the Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken Universe and I thank those who came to our aid, and then I help them return to their home universes.

The last group to leave is Saori's group, but there is no epic farewell or moving speech between us.

After all, my Digimon Incarnation is going with them, which means that I'll still be with them while my main body remains here some more, but what is worth taking note of is that Millim is coming with us as she wants to spend some more time with her new family; naturally, Gaia is also going with her.

In the end, only the original group of Zandeer, Nikita, Nellika, Jouichi, Iggy, Paul, Aletha, and me remain here, and this means it is finally time to keep the promise I've made with Paul.

To do that, I led everyone to an isolated area away from any civilization and under the eager and hopeful eyes of Paul and the curious ones of the others.

The first thing we do is the sacred ritual that formely gives Paul the status of fellow Man of Culture, thus forming a new Seed of Culture within my Soulbound Territory; however, I immediately notice that this new one is different from the others as it is completely blank, likely because the Invincible Universe is completely gone, but the fact that the Seed of Culture still formed is a good sign as it means that at the very least as faint echo of it still remains as Paul's very existance is the only thing that keep it alive.

After that, I move on to the next phase and pull out my Dragon Balls from the Soulbound Territory.

Naturally, the appearance of such famous and iconic objects immediately gives everyone a hint of what is about to happen, as my friend gasps and exclaims in surprise.

At this point, I don't waste any more time and immediately use the Chant needed to activate them using Greek as the language, "Síko Dráko tou Politismoú kai dóse mou to myaló. Se prokaló Drakeos! (Arise, Dragon of Culture, and grant my wish. I evoke you, Drakeos!)"

In response to my Chant, the Dragon Balls start to pulse with power, releasing a gentle hum before they start to hover from the floor as they start to spin in a circular formation, while they start glowing in a golden light that gets more and more intense the faster the Dragon Balls spin, while my friends watch in awe.

Then the Dragon Balls spin so fast that they form a single shining golden ring which quickly soars up in the endless starlit space, and once the ring is so far that it looks like a small golden point, it quickly starts to enlarge, turning into a gargantuan golden gate.

At this point, the Eternal Dragon I created starts to emerge from the massive golden gate, and of course, the first thing to make its appearance is the head.

The head is very dragon-like, with sharp features; it has a prominent red and white crest and horn-like structure on its head, its eyes are fully green just like mine, and its mouth is open in a fierce, almost snarling expression, revealing a sharp set of teeth.

Shortly after revealing its massive head, the Eternal Dragon lets out a fierce and proud roar before it quickly flies off the gate, fully revealing the rest of its body.

The Eternal Dragon has a long, serpentine body with a predominantly white or silver coloration; its scales are so small and tightly packed that they almost look like plain skin, and intricate, dark gray tribal-style markings are etched across its entire body. These markings seem almost like tattoos.

A long, flowing mane of bright yellowish-gold hair cascades from the top of its head, trailing behind it and adding to its ethereal appearance, and it shimmers slightly, making it almost look like flowing light.

Two large, pointed, bat-like wings extend from its back, sharing the same white-silver color and tribal markings as the rest of its body, while its claws are sharp and dark red, accentuating its predatory look.

Once Drakeos fully emerges from the gate, she focuses her gaze on me and in a feminine voice she asks, "Hello there. What is your wish, my creator?"

I look at Drakeos in its green eyes and, after thinking about how to properly form my wish, I say, "I wish for the entire Invincible Universe to be completely restored. This means that all the beings they have killed by the Champion of Power, his armies, and Unicron are going to be revived. All planets, stars, realities, connected dimensions, and so on. Everything should return to the same state before the invasion of the Champion of Power. If you need a little support to do it, connect to Paul's Seed of Culture, formed by my Blessing."

After hearing my wish, Drakeos immediately replies, "It will be done..." before her green eyes shine brightly.

Through my Cosmic Awareness, I immediately focus on the Seeds of Culture in my Soulbound Territory and perceive that the blank disc that represents Paul's connection to me as a fellow Man of Culture is going through immense changes.

Focusing more on it, I sense the fragments of the Invincible Universe weaving back together, stars reignite, planets reform, and the marks of civilizations are restored.

And at the heart of it, the countless lives the Champion of Power and his allies had stolen are also brought back.

One by one, they return, cities light up, skies fill with ships, and all the civilization rises again until an image appears on the blank Seed of Culture, the image of Mark Grayson in a flying punch stance with the words "Invincible" above him.

At this point, Drakeos states, "Your wish has been granted, my creator... See you soon!"

After saying that, Drakeos turns into a beam of light that quickly flies toward the still-open golden gate created by the Dragon Balls before rushing into it.

I turn around and look at the hopeful Paul before smiling widely and saying, "It's done. Your universe is back, and everyone who was alive before the invasion of the Champion of Power has been resurrected."

Paul falls to his knees, trembling, tears stream down his face, his fists clench, his jaw tight, but he doesn't speak; he doesn't need to.

I walk up to him, lay a hand on his shoulder, and say in a cheerful tone, "Come on, Paul. It's way too soon to turn into a crying mess. Now we have to send you back home and reunite you with your family."

Paul looks up, notices that we are all surrounding him with supportive smiles on our faces, and nods once, silently, as the gratitude in his eyes says more than words ever could.

Jayr POV - Invincible Universe, Earth, USA, Chicago - 2009

After using my Dragon Balls to restore the Invincible Universe, we decided that it was finally time to leave and said goodbye to all our friends in the Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken Universe.

Then came the time for our group to separate and for everyone to go their own way.

Aletha decided to return to her home universe, the Harry Potter Universe, to visit her brother and her friends while also preparing for the Random Competition that will take place in about a month.

Nellika, Jouichi, and Iggy decided to visit Jouichi's home universe, the mythical Jojo's Bizzare Adventure Universe; however, since neither is able to safely traverse the Omniverse and move from one universe to another, they requested my help in doing that something that I was able to easily accomplish with the simple use of the Seed of Culture and a portal created with Perceptual Teleportation.

Lastly, Nikita and Zandeer decided to follow Paul and me to the Invincible Universe, where we witnessed the touching reunion of Paul with his family and even enjoyed the more amusing sight of Paul turning into a stammering mess in front of his crush, the former Champion of Order, Reviriel, a Quendi from the Lord of the Rings Universe.

Luckily, it seems that Paul's affection isn't completely one-sided as Reviriel seemed to be very glad of the young, stammering Viltrumite's survival and also very moved about what he did to revive them and restore his universe to the point that Nikita cheekly commented that if Paul plays his cards right, he may very well score a win before quickly and unilaterally taking the role of Paul's personal love advisor.

Like that, we spent some time relaxing in Paul's home universe, which, after experiencing the Champion of Power's invasion, entered a stable period of peace, something very unusual for a superhero-centric universe like this one.

Naturally, I didn't simply relax during this period, as I also spent a lot of time training and preparing for the upcoming competition that will take place in a Random Competition Universe, something that is quite difficult when you don't know what exactly to prepare for.

After all, 'competition' is a very broad term, as there are basically an infinite number of options available.

I mean, it could be something safe and skill-based based like a singing/music competition that may be based on anime like K-On, Bocchi the Rock!, Your Lie In April, Piano no Mori, or even a cooking competition like the anime Shokugeki no Soma, Yakitate Japan, and so on.

In that case, I still may have a chance to win as I did master a few musical instruments like the piano and the guitar to the point that even a Master like Orphèe had nothing to say, and I'm quite a good cook.

Or it could be a sport-based competition, in which case it may be more problematic, especially if it is a team sport competition, even more so if our natural abilities are forcefully restricted to the level of the hosting universe.

But even in this case, the whole thing should still be relatively safe, and I still would have quite a good chance at winning, after all, thanks to my insane training, I have an utterly absurd level of control over my body to the point that most of the sports are actually a piece of cake for me.

The real issue is if the randomly chosen competition is a combat-based one; in that case, all the safety gloves will come off, and this may very well turn into something absolutely deadly as the more ruthless Champion may take advantage of this opportunity to take out everyone else by any means, thus ensuring their final victory in the Battle Across the Omniverse.

It is for this very reason that I decide to spend most of my time training for combat instead of honing my other abilities.

One day, as I'm enjoying the sight of Paul having a panic attack as he is asking Reviriel out with Zandeer and with his wife, Nikita, at my side.

I suddenly focus on Zandeer as he suddenly says in a firm and resolute tone, "I'm done."

I blink my eyes and ask in a confused tone, "What do you mean?"

Zandeer looks at me with tired but peaceful eyes and says, "I've fought enough wars, Jayr. Nurgle was the last. I have no hunger left for blood or glory. I just want to live quietly, with her... with our child."

I take a moment to digest what he just said before I briefly focus my attention on the blushing Nikita and immediately sense the budding life within her, making me smile widely, genuinely happy for them as I say, "Congratulations... Man, I was so focused on my training and the upcoming competition that I didn't even notice..."

They both thank me before Zandeer extends his hand, making a golden shimmering light appear in his palm as he solemnly declares, "I, Zandeer Firror, the Champion of Decay, willingly surrender my Blessing to Jayr Pucci, the Champion of Culture."

In response, his Blessing flares before it instantly enters my body, merging with my Blessing, swelling the power within me until it roars like a star as I immediately sense all my abilities improving, new ones emerging, and my own Soulbound Territory growing much bigger in size.

I take a moment to digest the sudden changes before I look at one of the closest friends I've made during my adventure all over the Omniverse and say, "Thank you."

Zandeer smiles faintly and says, "Don't thank me. Just win. If there is someone I'm willing to entrust the fate of a whole Omniverse to, it's you, Jayr."

After that, we peacefully enjoy watching our friend Paul cheerfully flying all over the place like an idiot with a goofy smile on his face while Reviriel watches with a half-embarassed, half-amused smile on her face, a clear sign of Paul successfully asking her out.

Jayr POV - Soulbound Territory - 2009

A month quickly passed, and now, I stand alone in front of the Unigate waiting for the Random Competition to finally start.

Soon, I hear a familiar mechanical voice, as it says, [AttEnTiOn! AttEnTiOn! WarP To rAnDoM CoMPetiTioN UnIvERse WiLL StaRt in 30 MiNuTeS! THIS MESSAGE WILL BE REPEATED EVERY 5 MINUTES UNLESS YOU STAND IN FRONT OF THE UNIGATE!]

While waiting for the countdown to end, I mutter, "Okay, it is about to start... Since I don't know what is going to happen, I made sure to bring with me anything that may be useful while leaving my Digimon Incarnation and my Digimon Partners back to my home universe."

Like that, time quickly passes and the Unigate's mechanical monotone voice states, [RANDOM COMPETITION PROTOCOL StarTed... SynCHing wiTh RandOm UniGate... SYncHinG CoMpLeTe... RanDomly InpUtTIng OmniVersal CooRdiNATes. StAnd stIll plEAsE.]

At the same time, the stone ring started to rotate and lock seven different glyphs on seven different V-like points of the circular stone gate, and as soon as the 7th glyph was locked, in the middle of the gate, a burst of unstable energy emanated from an activating Unigate in the shape of a vortex, and soon after a water-like portal is opened.

Then the monotone mechanical voice says, [ThE gAtE Is OpEn... May Culture Be With You...]

At this point, I take a deep breath and, gripping the Silver Core Drill hanging around my neck, I mutter, "Let's do this."

Without wasting another moment, I quickly jump into the water-like portal as I'm transported to a new, unknown Universe.
