Cain arrived at the Heart of Sin, drifting through the Void Beyond the Third Realm like a crimson comet. The instant his presence manifested, a hush fell across the stronghold.
Every strategist and soldier of the Life Path turned toward him, and without hesitation, they lowered their heads. Their eyes glowed with reverence and awe, the same light one might give to a living legend.
Whenever Cain completed a hunt—whenever he slaughtered another enemy deity—he sent reports back to the Life Path's headquarters. The more knowledge their strategists held, the more effectively they could support him.
At first, no one had expected much from an Early Archdeity. Yet in only a handful of months, he had slain more than a dozen Archdeities of the Freedom Path. Each death created a power vacuum, each vacuum weakened their enemies, and with every fallen god, the Life Path reclaimed more territory.
It was no wonder their gazes burned with admiration.
