After dinner I went to my room to prepare myself to sleep.

My sister Elsa came in with a worried face . She was just 10 but she was going through alot .
"come here" I said tapping the bed next to me for her to sit.
"sis, where is dad? I haven't seen him today" she asked
" You don't have to worry about him again , he won't be bothering us again "I assured her with a smile.
"really? oh thank God, he won't have to be beating mom and us again" she said with a wide smile . A smile I haven't seen for long time.
"come here"I said opening my arms for her . she hugged me like her life depended on it. 😂😂
"you can sleep here today" I said
"really?"
"hmm..mm" I said bobbing my head
"I love you sis" she said a gave me a kiss on my cheek .
"you have to" I said and we laughed.
We went to bed at 9 in the evening. We were all tired and first time in years we slept soundly without any nicompoop disturbing our sleep.
I heard the alarm buzzing but I didn't mind it knowing that it would stop very soon. when it stopped, I continued my sleep only to hear it buzzing again.
"mmmmm, Elsa off that thing will you" I said hoarsely.
I didn't get any response so I opened one of my eye halfway only to see that She was deep in sleep 😂😂.
I stretched my hand and off the alarm then continued my sleep.
I felt someone tapping me immediately I slept off.
"leave me alone" I said throwing my hands.
"Claudia wake up it's 12 in the afternoon" mom said
"what?"I shot up on the bed surprised.
"it's 12:30" mom said again
"wow I slept for that long?"I asked
"well make that the both of you"mom said giggling
I checked on my right to see Elsa still sleeping with her legs open wide , her hair messy and her hands on the back of her head.
"how does she sleep like that?"I asked mom giggling.
"wake her up and come down " mom said existing. through the door.
"okay mom" I said. Looking at her sleeping soundly like that gladdens my heart. She has to wake up so a crazy idea came to my mind
"st..op it.. sis" she said laughing as loud as she could.
"well I won't stop till you wake up" I said laughing . I tickled her till I saw tears from her eyes , then I stopped.
"it's been long since I saw you laugh"I told her truthfully
"yes, I also missed my smile. because dad was here , we were always sad"
"let's forget about him and focus on this family okay"

"now go brush your teeth, you mouth stink" I said holding my nose.
"oh really , then take this" she stood up , came to my side and started blowing out air from her mouth
"ewwww Elsa, wi.ll.. you... st...op...th..at" I said pretending as if I couldn't breathe.
"hahhaahahah"she laughed very hard
"will you please go and brush" I said pleading with her.
"sure I'm going"
After brushing, we took our bath and went downstairs to help mom prepare lunch.
"mmmmm, I smell something yummy, my stomach is even rumbling" Elsa dramatically said
"I'm done, come and eat" mom said laying out the dishes. We has yam chips with coleslaw and chicken. Even though we were not rich, we never went to bed hungry and I'm thankful to God for that. Mom had a convenient store down the street which we have depended on since .
"mom, I went for an interview yesterday for a job at Ashton Corporation as the CEOs PA and they said they will call me if I get the job"I told her with a smile
" that's good news dear"mom said
"yeah and if I get the job and get paid, I will use it to pay dad's loan then we leave here okay" I told her. Elsa doesn't know of what the shark loans said about selling her off for human trafficking, because that will disturb her, and I don't want that to happen.

"no mom, use that money to take care of the house and Elsa okay." I told her which she nodded.
After lunch I cleared the table and did the dishes . We were watching a movie 🍿 when I heard my phone ringing. Thinking it might be the company, I rushed into the room and answered the call .
"hello" I said acting like a professional
"please I'm I speaking with Ms. Claudia Benson?" the woman on the line said
" yes please, this is she"I answered. my heart was beating in my hand , I was scared of what she was going to say. And what she said made me totally speechless.
"Ms. Benson you got the job to be Mr. Ashton's PA, please report here on Monday at 7 in the morning and collect your ID from the receptionist, thank you"
"yes ma'am , thank you" I said trying to hide my excitement.
I rushed down to see mom and Elsa looking at me waiting for my response.
"I GOT THE JOB"I screamed laughing.
