Although the air conditioning was on at home, Hayes Edwards was still sweating profusely.
He had never been this careful with his hair his whole life.
It's really frustrating.
Really, truly frustrating.
Grace Winter even asked him, "Hayes, do you want some cake? I saved half for you."
The cake was prepared in advance by Mother Edwards and kept in the fridge as a dessert for them both at noon.
Hayes tightened his lips, "No, leave me alone."
He was very annoyed now, feeling like there was a fire burning right above his head.
"Okay then." Grace thought for a moment but still left the half-cut cake out.
By the time Grace's hair was untangled, an hour and a half had passed.
Exhausted, Hayes lay down on the sofa, more tired than after a basketball game.
"It's really all untangled!" Grace looked into the mirror, "Hayes, you're amazing!"
Hayes let out a couple of cold laughs, "Next time this happens, I'll just... I'll cut it all off."
