"It's really tasty, why won't you eat it?" She couldn't bear to eat it and had saved it for Hayes Edwards.
Since he wouldn't eat it... then she would eat it herself.
The sweet taste of the rainbow candy melted in her mouth, and a happy smile immediately appeared on the little girl's face.
The classroom for the older kids wasn't on the same floor as the younger kids, and sometimes even their break times didn't perfectly align. But whenever the bell rang, Hayes Edwards would always see Grace Winter peeking in at him from outside the window.
When she saw him look over, she'd wave happily.
