There was a slightly uncomfortable silence between Evan and Laurene as they walked through the garden of one of the many palaces within the capital of the Dark Continent's Dragon Empire.
Laurene had put on a little shawl over the simple one-piece gown that she had been changed into while unconscious, and she had her hands folded, her fingers clutching the tip of the shawl as they walked.
A variety of thoughts and questions swirled through her mind, all of which eventually led back to what 'Aidos' had said to her, especially regarding that horrifying possibility that even 'Aidos' had hesitated to mention.
