Chapter 2 - Special Physique

He began walking slowly after settling his thoughts. He had seen through every memory of the former Ye Yuhan and had nothing going for him other than being useless.

Parents died when I was young, I had no siblings, and I was extremely poor. It couldn't get any worse, he reasoned.

"Sigh. How am I supposed to go on living like this?" He couldn't help but sigh as he considered his current situation.

Even if he were an Immortal, he couldn't help but think that this was one of, if not, the unluckiest moments of his life. Why would that figure put him in this hopeless body?

He didn't dwell on it too much and accepted his fate for the time being. He was more concerned with how he was going to live his life now than with how he was going to live it. This body is far too weak right now, and it must start from scratch.

He'd already started walking deeper into the forest, looking left and right with his pitifully weak Spiritual Sense, which could barely do anything but spot monsters at the last second.

But he hadn't even been there an hour when he came across a monster. A monster four levels higher than him. It was a completely black wolf with blood-red eyes that was at least twice the size of a normal wolf.

Ye Yuhan lacked a weapon, was extremely weak, and couldn't move properly due to his injuries. He was in a situation where he could die.

'I really need to improve my pitiful cultivation base, or else I'll die for the second time.' He exhaled a sigh.

The monster did not linger for long and pounced on him with its large mouth wide open, ready to kill him.

Ye Yuhan simply avoided the wolf that landed right in front of him. It became enraged at the fact that it couldn't eat him in one bite and began running at full speed.

As insane as it appears, one would normally start running or trying to think of a solution. But Ye Yuhan stood there silently, eyes closed, seemingly waiting for the wolf to attack.

The wolf pounced and got extremely close to him, but before it could kill Ye Yuhan, he reopened his eyes. Instead of the black eyes, he'd had since birth, he now had a pair of bright golden eyes that stared directly at the wolf. When the wolf's gaze was drawn to the human's, it came to a halt in midair and fell to the ground, clearly terrified of him.

Ye Yuhan approached the wolf and simply stared at it before killing it with a nearby branch infused with a bit of his spiritual energy.

He started looking through the body as soon as it died, trying to find something before pulling out a small round crystal. It was the core of a monster.

A monster core is similar to a monster's Dantian, containing the monster's entire cultivation base. Essentially, it contains all the Qi that it has accumulated throughout its life. Cultivators can use this to improve their cultivation by absorbing it, but not only does it take longer to absorb a small amount of it, but it also does not absorb everything inside it.

Cultivators can only absorb a certain amount of the Qi contained within the monster core before it dissipates back into the world. Even a high-grade monster core would allow you to absorb half of its total Qi.

He inspected it casually and noticed it was of poor quality. He then recalled how he used to eat monster cores directly, which exponentially increased his cultivation base by leaps and bounds in mere seconds.

Normally, if you ate a monster core of some kind, you would explode to death because it contained its entire cultivation base, which a Cultivator cannot handle unless it slowly, bit by bit, absorbs it.

Furthermore, he possessed a unique physique capable of devouring any type of monster core as long as it contained Qi. Not only that, but he can absorb 100 percent of its total Qi without hesitation, giving him a significant advantage in his previous life.

But this is where his reservations arise. He wanted to swallow this monster core and improve his cultivation base in this way, but he was afraid he would die because this body did not have his special physique.

He didn't care if he died right now, if he swallowed it because he felt hopeless about remaining under the gaze of the Celestial Emperor, whose eyes roamed everywhere.

Even if he died today as a result of eating the monster core, he would only have a slight regret for not continuing to live, because he would rather die than be captured by the Celestial Emperor.

But then he remembered that he still had memories and that his soul had only been transferred here. This could be something he could take advantage of because his soul came here, and does that not imply that his body is always with him, even if he transmigrates multiple times?

But then he had a completely ridiculous idea. What if his soul, which was attached to his previous body, transfers all the benefits it provided to his previous body to this body? What if he could live his previous life again? Wouldn't that be incredible?

He was unsure and only speculated. But he still had to test. He then placed the monster core in his mouth and swallowed it.

In a split second, his entire body began to heat up due to the amount of Qi within it. And the next thing he knew, his cultivation base was soaring all the way up to the sixth level Spirit Apprentice before coming to a halt.

A second later, he felt refreshed and as if his entire body was regaining strength that he hadn't felt in a long time.

"Good thing I can keep doing this," he muttered as he began patrolling the vast forest.

The forest was large, so it would take him at least a few hours to get out of it, and he knew that this forest screamed monsters, so he decided to start hunting monsters in the meantime he was trying to get out of this forest.

Two hours had passed, and he had just finished slaughtering another beast. Unfortunately, it did not drop a monster core this time. A monster core drops only above the sixth level Spirit Apprentice, and the higher its cultivation base, the less likely it is to drop one.

He'd already fought and killed a dozen monsters, and he'd done so with ease. He simply manifested his spiritual energy outside his body and manipulated it in this manner to slay them. Even if his cultivation base was insufficient, and it was insufficiently powerful, or could not be made larger and less breakable, he could still kill them.

He had already advanced to the second level of Spirit Trainee, which was the second realm. Being able to advance so quickly in just a few hours is quite impressive, as not everyone is capable of doing so.

He'd had enough fighting and decided to go for a walk for the time being instead of looking for monsters to fight. He was also hungry and decided to go to a city or something to eat. Not only that, but he'd brought these monsters with him because they could be sold for money, and he didn't have any.

He had to carry them because his spatial pouch had been stolen. Not through physical means, but through his spiritual energy. He manipulated the monsters he killed and flew them through the air as if they were magically flying.

After a few minutes of walking, he could finally see the far distance of a plain land ahead of him. But not far from the plain land was a city, which he remembered from his memories of the former Ye Yuhan.

It wouldn't take long to get there, so he decided to go for the time being and see what he'd do later.
