Chapter 1 - Ye Yuhan

A young man was staring at the infinite dark sky above the ceiling that had one opening in a small space with almost no light.

Because he had nothing better to do in this place, the young man simply stared at the dark sky for who knows how long. He was alone and had nothing but this small opening that could provide him with some entertainment.

The opening appeared to be nearly 2 meters wide, which meant his eyes couldn't cover the entire thing. Unbeknownst to him, a figure appeared on the ceiling, staring directly at the young man.

The young man suddenly felt the presence of the figure, not long after the figure appeared like a ghost.

He narrowed his eyes at the figure, but couldn't make out what it was. A man? A woman? He did not know. It appeared to be completely shrouded in darkness, as if it had no intention of revealing its identity.

Instead of pressing his back against the wall to gaze at the dark sky, the young man shifted his gaze away from the figure and lay down.

The figure then vanished and reappeared right beside the young man. The young man felt the figures' presence again, but this time they were closer to him, and he looked to his right.

As he took a look at the figure, it was still shrouded in darkness. He was about to turn away when he overheard the figure speaking.

"Do you want to leave this place?"

The young man looked at the figure again, surprised that it could speak. "Who or what are you?" He inquired because he couldn't think of anything else.

"It does not matter who or what I am." It stated and continued. "I just asked you a question. Simply respond to me, and I may answer a question of yours."

"..." The young man took a moment to respond because he wasn't sure if he wanted to leave this place that was actually intended for criminals.

"I'm not certain. I would gladly leave this place if I could, but if I do, the Celestial Emperor will imprison me here once more. I'd rather die here than do something so inconvenient and only be caught later."

"An Immortal such as yourself actually dares to say such things? How laughable! Be truthful with yourself and don't lie to yourself. You want to go outside, don't you?" It asked with a smile, as a pair of white teeth appeared out of nowhere on the figure's face.

"..." The young man remained silent and closed his eyes. A split second later, he spoke coldly to the figure, "Who says I'm a liar? Do you really believe I'll have another chance if the Celestial Emperor is present?"

"What if I told you that I could make the Celestial Emperor's capture impossible? Hm? Would you continue to say such things?"

The young man simply stood up and stared at the figure, as if he didn't believe anything this figure had just said.

"How are you going to do that?"

"So, is this the question you're expecting me to answer? To be clear, I will only answer one question from you and will not respond to any others."

"Then tell me... who are you?"

Its smile widened as he showed the young man its two rows of white teeth. "I am merely someone who has long lost the feeling of life and is seeking excitement. Just think of me as someone who lives in the shadows."

"What do you mean by that?"

It did not respond and simply smiled.

"Sigh. I mean, it's not like I can believe everything you say, you know? If you really mean everything you say, why don't you prove it to me?"

"Prove it to you? Hahaha! How daring! I like it!" It burst out laughing and said, "Sure. I can do that. That is also something I would have done even if you had not asked."

"May I inquire as to your name?"

"The name is Ye Yuhan."

"Then, Ye Yuhan. I'll give you a chance to leave this Eternal Confinement. Having this opportunity is something that everyone would like to have, so make sure you don't die right away."

"Do not resent me for not starting as an infant because I will transfer your soul into a body that has already lived for a few years."

"Good luck."

It suddenly waved its hands, and an arc of black light flew toward Ye Yuhan at an unfathomable speed.

The next thing he knew, his entire body was enveloped in darkness, making it impossible for him to use his senses properly. He also lost consciousness a split second later.

He felt a sharp pain in his head immediately after being blinded by the darkness, as if his head had been ripped open and was leaking blood. He slowly opened his eyes to see a lovely scene above him.

A blue sky with few to no clouds and tall trees obscuring his vision. He slowly rose to his feet, but the sharp pain in his head returned.

"What the hell...?" He groans, as if he had just dreamed of being in the Eternal Confinement and encountering the dark figure.

"How did I end up here-?" A second after uttering those words, he was engulfed in excruciating pain.

Suddenly, he noticed a constant flow of memories going through his mind, as if they were being fed to him.

He stood up again a minute later, after the agonizing experience. He silently examined them as he recalled the new information he had received.

His name, like his previous life, is Ye Yuhan. He is 18 years old and a disciple of the Vicious Sword Sect. A sect that specializes in sword techniques and is widely regarded as the best sect in which to practice the way of the sword.

Their disciples are also ruthless Cultivators, as they practice extremely painful sword techniques. They were disliked by many because they were known to be cruel and unforgiving.

He'd been in the sect for a year and was still an outer court disciple. His cultivation barely advanced, and he couldn't grasp any of the techniques he needed to learn. He was eventually revealed to be the Vicious Sword Sect's useless disciple.

He was going outside one day for a mission to hunt a few monsters when he was ambushed by disciples from his own sect. They decided to put an end to this good for nothing's life once and for all because his mere presence irritated them.

He was attractive, but he was completely useless. How could they stand it? They were so envious that they had to punish him for being both handsome and useless!

That's also when he died, his robes ripped, and his spatial pouch stolen. A few days later, he couldn't take it any longer and committed suicide due to shame and depression.

Returning to the present, the Immortal Ye Yuhan has taken over the former useless Ye Yuhan.

He stood up calmly and patted his own body. He was still in pain all over and had a slight headache. Despite this, he was able to stand and even walk for a short time.

In addition, he examined his own cultivation base and discovered that he was only in the third level Spirit Apprentice Realm. He wasn't surprised, given that everyone thought he was useless and had even predicted something like this.

"I'm sure I've transmigrated... Even if I can't seem to believe it, nothing else can explain my current situation."

He was also unsure whether he was still in the Nine Heavens he was familiar with. If it isn't, he'll have to figure out how to get back, which may take some time or may not be possible at all.

"First, I'll have to figure out where the hell I am."
