Chapter 5 - I'll Accompany You To The End

Ning Shiyu, he really didn't file for divorce.

Lin Nuan was instantly furious, clutching the paperwork she'd printed out at the civil affairs bureau, storming off angrily toward Ning Group.

When she arrived at Ning Group, the receptionist and security stopped her downstairs, saying she couldn't go up without an appointment.

Lin Nuan pulled out her phone, quickly dialed the number she'd deleted but could never forget.

Three years without contact, yet she still remembered it so clearly.

She didn't spend a second recalling; remembering everything about him seemed like an innate skill.

She dialed several times in a row, but Ning Shiyu didn't answer.

Frustrated, she paced the lobby back and forth, when suddenly someone behind her called out in surprise, "Nuannuan."

Lin Nuan turned around, spotting Mu Nanxiao walking toward her.

Mu Nanxiao was Ning Shiyu's childhood buddy, along with Sheng Qingning and Qin Huai. Back in school, they were called the Four Little Tyrants of City A, always walking as if they owned the place.

"I came to find Ning Shiyu. The staff said I didn't have an appointment, so they wouldn't let me up," Lin Nuan explained awkwardly.

"I'll take you up," Mu Nanxiao replied.

Lin Nuan nodded, grabbed her bag, and went along with Mu Nanxiao.

When they reached Ning Shiyu's office, he was in the middle of a conversation with his subordinates.

Seeing Mu Nanxiao arrive, he sent the others away but didn't spare Lin Nuan a single direct glance.

"Shiyu, Nuannuan has something to discuss with you. Go ahead and talk, I'll come back later," Mu Nanxiao said.

After Mu Nanxiao left, Lin Nuan slammed the marriage certificate onto Ning Shiyu's desk, her tone furious: "Ning Shiyu, can you explain this?"

Ning Shiyu casually glanced at her, tapped his phone screen, and asked coldly, "Was that you calling me earlier?"

Lin Nuan ignored him: "Ning Shiyu, didn't I give you the divorce papers? Why hasn't the procedure been completed?"

"If you call me again and I don't answer, don't bother dialing twice." Ning Shiyu reminded her, disdainful.

His indifference left Lin Nuan somewhat defeated.

She pulled out the chair opposite his desk, sat down, and tried to negotiate gently: "Ning Shiyu, when will you be free? Let's go get the divorce paperwork finalized!"

As long as he handled the papers now, she could buy her apartment, give Lin Shenshen a home, and let bygones be bygones.

Ning Shiyu sneered, his tone icy: "Lin Nuan, between the two of us, do you have the right to make decisions?"

Back then, she wanted to get married, pestered him endlessly, and shamelessly used his father to pressure him.

Now she wants a divorce, as if he's just anyone?

Whenever she wants him, he has to come; whenever she wants to leave, he must let her go?

Is he really that easy to deal with?

Lin Nuan's face suddenly turned ashen; she stared at Ning Shiyu without blinking: "Ning Shiyu, what do you mean?"

Ning Shiyu leaned forward slightly, closing the distance: "Lin Nuan, you chose mutual harm and mutual torment. I, Ning Shiyu, have no reason not to keep you company to the end."

"As for the divorce, you're not qualified to sit here and negotiate with me as an equal."

Lin Nuan nearly exploded on the spot from anger at Ning Shiyu.

Every other day she's busy catching cheaters, constantly pressured to have kids, plus those pregnant women showing up at her door.

The one suffering is obviously her, right?

Since getting married, how many times has he even come home? Does he really dare say he's the one tortured?

Gripping his desk with both hands, Lin Nuan snarled through clenched teeth: "Ning Shiyu, do you really have to be so spiteful without any benefit to yourself?"
