Releasing a sigh I resisted the urge to punch the bridge of my nose as the Ancient One mentioned Madam Web.

"Wait, you know Madam Web?" Gwen asked.

The Ancient One nodded. "Yes, I do. We've encountered each other a few times over the centuries."

"Excuse me, centuries!" Gwen exclaimed. "Sorry mam, but just how old are you?"

"I'll leave that up to your imagination." The Ancient One replied. A playful smile on her face.

A given since she and Madam Web are both massive trolls. No wonder they likely get along.

"Okay, so you know Madam Web." I spoke. "Then did that old troll of a woman give you a specific message for us?"

The Ancient One shook her head. "No. She just wanted me to let you know that we knew each other." She said. "Now then on another note I have a proposition for you both. How would you like to learn the mystic arts under my tutelage?" She asked.

Surprising not only me but Gwen as well.

"You're offering to teach us magic?" I asked.

"Yes." Ancient One replied.

"Why? Secondly, can we even do magic in the first place?" Gwen asked.

"First, because I'm interested to see just what kind of sorcerer two totem bearers will turn into under my guidance. Secondly, Ghost-Spider everyone has the potential to use magic, though some have higher chances than others. Especially if they are connected to a greater force like young Tyrone and Tandy, along with you and Spider-Man." She explained.

"Greater force?" Gwen questioned. Titling her head slightly.

Me mirroring her action, even though I knew likely exactly what the Ancient One was referencing.

But I had to act like I didn't as to not let on to my past life secret.

"Yes. A great force that spans across space, time, and the multiverse." The Ancient One said.

"Wait, wait, wait? The multiverse is real!" Gwen spoke.

"Ghost-Spider, we just discovered that magic is real and that people can connect to and becoming living conduits to different dimensions, so are you seriously that surprised that the multiverse is real?" I asked.

"I mean, sort of. This is all just a lot you know." Gwen admitted. "I'm actually a bit jealous how you can take this all in stride."

"Eh." I shrugged my shoulders. "The way I see our lives are already crazy enough and if I don't go along with it and insist on questioning every little thing or fighting against said flow I'll drive myself insane. A thing I don't want to happen. So yeah." I admitted.

"That's a very enlightened outlook you have on life Spider-Man. Which is why I'm now even more convinced you would make a wonderful sorcerer." The Ancient One spoke.

"Which is definitely something I'm interested in, but back to this greater force you were talking about me and Ghost-Spider being connected to. Care to elaborate?" I spoke.

Though again I already knew what the Ancient One was referencing, but I needed her to explain for Gwen sake so I could then talk about it with her without arousing too much suspicion.

Damn, who knew having memories from a previous life would have such a down side.

Though I certainly wouldn't trade them for anything.

"Of course." The Ancient One replied.

She then summoned several spell circles around the three of us, each of them displaying different images.

One of which was a giant spider web that just excluded an aura of power.

"What you both see before you is known as the Web of Life and Destiny." She began. "A construct and concept that spreads across the entire multiverse and binds it together. Coming into existence long ago it was created by the old and powerful goddess known as Neith. Who herself was the first Spider-Totem. The totem bearers, or avatars themselves, being chosen specifically by the Web of Life and Destiny and other Spider Totems to bear its powers and protect the Web itself and by extension the entire multiverse when or should the need arise." The Ancient One spoke.

Dismissing the spell circles once her explanation finished.

"So, you're saying Gwen and I are connected to this great and powerful Web?" I questioned.

Continuing to feign a bit of ignorance.

"And that we didn't get our powers by accident. That we were chosen to bare them." Gwen mused.

"Yes, to both your questions." The Ancient One replied.

"Well shit." Gwen spoke.

Surprising me, since she never swears.

But given what we, or rather she learned, she's definitely allowed it.

Everybody gets one after all.

"You can say that again." I spoke. "Listen, Ancient One, this is all a lot. So before we make any decisions regarding your offer can we get sometime to process all this?"

"Of course. Especially since I didn't expect an immediate answer." She replied. "Take your time. But I hope you don't keep me waiting too long."

"Don't worry, we won't." I said. "Now then if there's nothing else you need to share with us Ghost-Spider and I will take our leave."

"Not at the moment." The Ancient One replied.

So with that Gwen and I took our leave.

But out the front door of the New York Sanctum this time.

Escorted out by the Ancient One herself, who gave us the Sanctum real address, even though I already knew it, before seeing us off.

Then not even five minutes after the two of us began once more swinging through the city, so fast people could badly notice us, Spinner contacted us over comms.

"Spider-Man, Ghost-Spider, thank goodness you're both alright. When I failed to establish communications with you both for the past few minutes I assume the worst has occurred. Now I'm happy to know my worries were for not."

"Even so they're much appreciated Spinner." I spoke.

"Yeah, they are." Gwen agreed.

"You're very welcome." Spinner replied. "But on another note might I inquire as to what occurred after I lost contact with you both?"

"We'll tell you all about it once we get back." I said.

Since this is definitely a story I don't want to share over our comms.

"Understood." Spinner replied.

Once he did he ended communications leaving Gwen and I took just swing in silence as we made our way back to the Web.

(3rd Person: POV)

As Peter and Gwen were returning to their base, in order to discuss with Spinner their meeting, and the revelations they learned about their own powers, during their encounter with the Masters of the Mystic Arts, the wheels of fate were still turning for others.

Inside of the Oscorp Industries headquarters electrical engineer Maxwell Dillon was working on the power conduits.

Grumbling as he did.

"Bastards. Forcing all this work off on me." Max spoke.

Seething in quiet rage at his co-workers.

Even though he was the one who designed Oscorp Electrical Grid.

He still got no respect. Not from anyone.

"Treating me like a glorified electrician." Max spoke.

Just as he touched another cable.

Which sent electricity coursing throughout his entire body.

Since the wiring was faulty.

But it seems someone forgot to shut off the power.

Screaming in agony Max eventually lost his grip on the power line, and once he did he started to fall.

Until eventually he crashed into a water tank filled with electric eels, that didn't hesitate to electrocute him further.

Though as this occured Max's entire body began to change, and he began to generate electricity himself.

"Flint Marko, stop! This is your last chance!"

A police officer spoke over a megaphone.

While he and his fellow officers continued chasing after escaped convict, Flint Marko.

But Marko, the man in question igorned the warnings.

Since if he did stop he would immediately be sent back to prison.

Defeating the whole reason he broke out in the first place.

Which was to check up on his youngest daughter, Penny.

Since his wife Alma had informed him during her last visit she was sick, and only getting worse.

Upon hearing this Makro didn't hesitate and began planning his escape.

Since he had already failed his wife and daughters so much already, and he'll be damned if he continued too.

Despite his current situation.

Seeing Flint was ignoring his warning the officer in charge used his megaphone once more. "The escapee is refusing to head out warning, thus you are all now freed to use lethal force." He said to his fellow officers.

Once the officer in charge gave this order his fellow police officers began firing at Flint.

Forcing the man to weave and dodge.

'Got to find cover. Got to hide.' Flint thought.

Rounding a corner.

Where he then saw a partially opened fence that led into a dense field.

Seeing this as his opportunity Flint ran towards the hole in the fence and slipped through it.

Missing the warning signs attached to it.

But the cops didn't.

Which is why they stopped at the fence and then contacted their superiors on what their next move should be.

Meanwhile Flint continued running.

Until eventually he found himself falling through a hole.

"Agh!!!" Flint screamed.

Until his screams were drowned out and he crashed into and sunk into a giant pit of sand.

But a few seconds later a hand popped out of the pit, belonging to a pile of sand that resembled a human.
