Chapter 31 - 31 The whispers

The next day as usual Audrey headed to the royal dining room for breakfast in her long sleeves black dress, a floor length piece covering her curves perfectly, her hairs braided at front and some left cascading to her waist.

Dillonia was a bit developed Kingdom when it comes to clothes, the tailors were a very remarkable ones, most of the people there didn't wear some dresses with big skirts like ball gowns at all, they would just put on some floor length dresses, they were most popular and comfortable dresses in Dillonia.

Audrey was the same, she didn't like those gowns that tightened her chest all the time and made her look like a balloon, having hard time to breath or not able to eat her way to glee. The royal fabrics used to make her dresses were unique and exceptionally beautiful, that's why the maids in the castle would always gawk at her.

Upon reaching the room her wide smile vanished to see Acine alone inside the room, 'Wow! she sure wakes up early! Mph!' biting the inside of her cheeks she walked in "Greetings your highness " she said standing up and bowed formally, Audrey gave her a smile curtly, she wonders why she hasn't greeted her like this yesterday, a maid pulled out a chair for her and she sat down. "The King ....." she muttered leaving her sentence hanging on purpose for her to fill in, her eyes were fixed on the empty chair between them. "Oh he was up all night that's why he is late today" replied Acine emphasising the words 'Up all night' on purpose "His Majesty sure has a quiet stamina" she added lowering her head with a chuckle.

Audrey took a spoonful of soup not reacting to her words but her inside were doing the opposite 'Up all night? sure!' she bit the inside of her cheeks knowing exactly what this serpent truly meant, however the pain was hiting her by the news and this sly fix didn't really have to say those things out loud, right at her face!. She clenched her dress below the table feeling a pang of pain on her throat, she actually lost her appetite but she kept her cool, sitting calm and preserved as if she was a deaf. 'They say once you know the behavior of your enemy, you'd know how you are supposed to live with them' she reminded herself as a part of encouragement, she refused to give Acine the satisfaction which she was seeking by poking her wound.

Shortly, Levyndrion entered the room in his grey pants and white long sleeve shirt, a black robe was draped around his shoulders sweeping the floor as he walks, the two of them got up and bowed respectively greeting him "Morning your Majesty" they chorused and stared at each other until the King sat down "Morning to the two of you too" he said.

The breakfast went in silence, Audrey saw how Acine was picking up some dishes and place them on the King's plate saying they were good and that he should try them. She lowered her head down on her plate not wanting to face them anymore only to hurt herself, she kept hearing her stupid chuckles or giggles, she felt like having puking out of blue, she then took a piece of cloth and dubbed it on her delicate lips, she was about to stand up and walk away when a warm hand held her wrist, sending volts all over her body, they stared at each other for couple of seconds before he started to talk making Acine angered! "You haven't eaten much Rey, are you sick?" he said with their eyes still locked on each other, she shook her head "No my King, I just don't have an appetite" she said looking down at their hands as if she was telling him to met go of her cause she was feeling some weird waves of emotions within her body, just by his touch? she couldn't believe how stupid her body was.

"Okay you may go now but make sure to eat something later" he said genuinely and finally let go of her hand, she bowed and left the room.

Roaming around the castle with her maids, they walked by large walls of corridors that had several paintings in tbier golden frames, she paused when one paint caught her attention, a teenager boy ... Levyndrion sat on a royal chair with his hands resting on his laps, his hairs combed back as usual falling to his shoulders, 'Those eyes' she suddenly remembered when he came at Dillonia several years ago, the day she broke into his room and he almost clobbered her mistaking her for an intruder, they stared at each other for a long time. She still clearly remember every moment she had with him those days, a smile curved on her lips without her knowledge. "His Majesty was so handsome even as a teenager" complimented Annie studying the paint at the back.

"He was" she agreed, feeling a slight pain upo recalling those two back at the dining room, "Up all night huh! Why don't you add a day time too?" she suddenly blurted, her smile having fell placed by fury, her maids looked at each other with surprised looks, it's been a week now and Levy never even once visited her quarters let alone to sleep with her.

She knew this was how it was going to be till she gets older within this lonesome castle, her chastity ... sigh.

Suddenly two man in cloaks came before her and one of them went down to his knees, surprising Audrey to the core. "Vincy! What are you doing?" she wasn't able to understand why this all was happening, Fene bowed at her "Your highness, from now on he is going to be your personal knight, he will be around you and serve you for the rest of his life" he reported and pulled out his sword handing it to Audrey, being a royal blood she knew exactly what she was supposed to do.

"I swear my loyalty to your highness, my life belongs to your from now on my Queen, I promise to do my best to serve you!" he rapped like a soldier making an oath of going to war. Audrey smiled and raised the sword, tapping on each side of his shoulder two times accepting him as her knight. At least it isn't some stranger who will be guarding her but Vincy whom she considered a friend back on the days, they had several memories together, it won't be hard for the two of them to adapt around each other. Fene left them heading to his own duties, "God! does he ever smile?" asked Annie pointing at the retreating back of the man who vanished at the end of the corridors. "Not really ..... its almost a rare case for him, even when it comes to talk, he doesn't talk unless it's necessary" answered Vincy getting up on his knees.

Fene .... the famous cold hearted person, smiling? Its what Vincy have seen a long long time ago on his face, it's always blank. "Oh" said all the tree maids in unison, no wonder whenever she meet with him he is serious than these flat walls of the castle! thought Annietta.

Later on Acine went to pick up Audrey at her quarters so she could show her around the castle, something that she could just do on her own if it wasn't Levy butting in, she cursed inwardly but kept her cool so she won't get the wrong ideas.

They roamed around and went at the Royal Chapel, which was insanely huge enough to cover a number of people, Audrey craned her neck looking at the far away ceilings, it was so far that she wondered how one could build such thing. " The King once told me that the Chappel was a favorite place for the late Queen Jene, she would spend most of her spare time praying" narrated Acine with a smile turning back to face her "Oh I see" she said going forward until she reached at front of the Chappel, just when she was about to take a step on the stairs a whisper came with the blowing wind behind her making her turn her head with a shocked face 'Come to me!' .

Acine wasn't able to understand what happened to her all of a sudden, "Anything wrong my Queen?" she couldn't help but question, the Queen looked very shocked for her own reasons, she was curious to know. Audrey stared at her in disbelief "You didn't hear that?" she her question with her ow making her even more curious now. "Hear what my Queen? its only the two of us in here" said Acine with an awkward smile, 'Is she drunk this early?' .

'Right! there is only the two of us here, what are you hallucinating about Audrey?' she said to herself to keep her sanity stable.

"Errrm..... its nothing" she uttered, Acine carried on with her old days stories about the Chappel but Audrey couldn't really focus on what she says anymore. She turned to where the whispers had came from warily. 'Come to me!' the whisper kept ringing inside her head 'What could that be? Why are they calling her? What do they want?' her head was spinning with questions. Noticing her not paying attention to her anymore, Acine tolled her eyes 'Is she ignoring me now?' "My Queen... how about we stop here for the day, we'll carry ok some other day" even she was tired of this narrations like a monk or priest.

Audrey snapped out of her train of thoughts "Enh? well.... I guess so, let's get going" she couldn't wait to vet out of thus weird place, they both left the Chappel and walked away with thier maids.

Sitting on a couch, Audrey gulped down a glass of water, suddenly the whispers came again with the blowing wind making her hairs dance 'Come to me!' she choked and coughed very hard that her eyes started to sting either tears, Annie moved quickly patting her back "Your highness!" she blurted out of worry.

A second later she finally calmed down breathing normally, she stood from a couch and walked to stand by the window where the whisper came from. All she could see were the greenery and fog from afar and nothing else, her heart became heavy with several thoughts, the whispers were a command shocking her even more, she was scared.
