Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Of Red Eyes

Red eyes.

A blade pierced through the man's chest, right through his windpipe, he fell. The man groaned, shouted, and screamed with agony yet no one was there to help.

Repeat.

A blade in his stomach.

Repeat.

A blade in his heart.

Repeat.

A blade in his head.

Repeat.

A blade in his- Dead.

Red eyes burned with hatred.

Another man lay on the ground, pleading and asking for forgiveness yet the red eyes did not bat an eye rather smiled and embedded three shurikens on the man's forehead.

On his heart.

On his throat.

The man fell limp on the ground never to wake again.

Black comas.

A woman ran through the narrow streets, running for her life but in vain as the red eyes caught her in an illusion.

She screamed.

Shouted.

Yelled.

Gave threats.

Yet, no one was there to help. The illusion was too much for her, it went on for hours and hours and nothing seemed to stop it. It was like being in an endless loop.

Traumatized, she killed herself with a knife. Her eyes, as she died, filled with pain and fear of the red eyes never to see the blue sky again.

Avenger.

On the other side of the same city, a sword sliced through the man's neck, separating his body from the head.

They lay on the ground

Gruesome.

Unrecognizable.

Was the killer a villain?

No. The killer was not a villain, a savior instead.

He would not let this world perish like his did.

Pink hair.

The boy stared at it. They felt familiar somehow. Pink...Punch...Earth...Shannaru...? He didn't understand a thing, it was all too blurry. A memory filled with happiness yet so distant. He could not remember it.

Why?

He wanted to remember it, to have a happy memory.

Did he not deserve it?

In anger, he killed the woman in front of him with pink hair, his first innocent kill in 5 years.

The red and purple eyes did not understand a thing...

Months later, when the red eyes remembered, they smiled bitterly at the memories, the smile did not reach his eyes.

Tears

The Red eyes burst into tears.

A girl watched him from the corners, her eyes filled with pity for the crying boy in the streets. She took her mother's hand, dragging her towards the and asking her to help the homeless...

Kind as the mother was, smiled at the boy, asking him what his name was. Looking up, the boy mumbled a small 'Itachi..?' but remained quiet. They took him to the police soon after and then to the Orphanage. The red eyes were devoid, absent of any emotions and they did not respond to the hospitality rather excepted things as they were.

It was strange.

It did not belong to a child.

The boy escaped from the orphanage a week later, not to be found by the police again rather by a pro-hero who like many others took pity on him and brought him home, hoping the red eyes would smile again.

They did, or they did not?

Red eyes burn with hatred, yet they do not avenge.
