We didn't reach the space port when we saw and heard the explosion. We were redirected elsewhere but I am amongst those who are allowed. I went to see what was going on. The officers told me to move back. I held my breath and ran in. I found a pregnant woman struggling to get out. The metal wasn't hot so I was able to lift the railing and got her out. I carried to safety. I called for help but my pleas were ignored. So I used first aid to save her. She loved long enough to give birth. One of the bystanders was happy she was dead. The other reminded him that she was innocent. She was framed so have some decency. She was taken to the morgue where no one claimed her. So I handled her funeral and asked who will raise the kid. She came from the planet Scorpio.
They renounced her on the spot. I kindly explained, "She is an innocent child. So whatever animosities you have with her mom can be put aside. She is a baby. She has done nothing to earn any sort of hatred. Please take her and raise her." The Senator made it clear if she was taken to their planet she will be killed. I asked what crime she has committed. I was told she was exonerated. But that doesn't matter. She is excommunicated. I was told if I care about the kid then I can have her. I got the legal documents and video proof that they don't want her. I adopted her and brought her with me. I was greeted by loving family who took us both to Nocny. We went to Koeneseg to find someone who will feed the kid. I had to name her. I named her Valentina after my grandmother.
Immigration was ready by the time we reached them. The legal work took an hour and then she was all mine. She was fed as often she needed. She was safe and loved. The crying would annoy a few but they would watch as I patiently calmed her down. I rocked her back forth as I sung her lullabies. She would sleep only if she can grab my hair. The days went by and problems came and went. I recorded the baby's first word. Which was Dada. Her second word was mama. Her first steps and her first day at school.
She had a private tutor who taught her everything she knew. The girl was very quick to learn. She was observant too. I am sure she noticed we don't eat normal food. She came to me and told me there is monster under her bed. I laughed, "I am one of the deadliest people there is. No monster would ever dare come here unless they are interested in getting a boo-boo" she froze as I picked up a baseball bat and went in to inspect her bedroom. I found nothing. I switched the lights on. She came in and I laid next to her and switched off the lights. She kept yanking my shirt so I used the flashlight to show her that there is no monster. She froze. I realised the rocking chair with her doll was making her believe it was a monster. So I walked over and fixed it. She gave me a kiss to thanks and went to sleep.
She was five years old when we took her to the werewolf district. I apologised for the delay in the welfare check. They were grinning as they gave her a hug. I watched as Jesse carried her on his back. I went to check security. Ambrose tried to assure me everything is fine. But as always I went looking. I found strangers roaming the wheat and corn fields. I heard them say they are looking for silk and saffron. They are not leaving till they get it. I used superspeed and brought them over to the sheriff's office. Ulric was waiting with restraining cuffs. Once the crooks were secured I ran at terminal velocity till I got them all. Octavius was laughing as they tried to figure out how they landed in jail. They thought they had gotten away. They got owned.
I saw Terrance walk in with the files to have them deported. They started to yell. I roared and they cowered to one corner. Sirius was now in charge of the festival. He gave me thumbs up as I walked. Jesse came with my daughter and agreed that I was right to do a once over. We went to my room. I laid out kids clothes under the blanket and slipped under. Valentina watched as I turned into a young girl and slipped into the sheets to change. I came out and we spent the day playing. We played skipping rope. We cooked and ate food. Slept side by side. Sat on the swing and finally played videogames. Oleg was nearby watching me as I took care of my baby. We played hide and seek. I made sure she was somewhere she won't get nabbed. We made bracelets. We combed and braided each other's hair. We wore different outfits and posed.
Once the welfare check was over I went to the mountains. Excalibur fortress was being renovated. Miranda took care of my daughter till I came back. They were pleased to see me as I moved to inspect the place. The underground tunnels looked cool. It was barely Illuminated. It was a security measure. We checked it for stability so we can use it for training. We did drills in groups of eights and tens. I had them pretend the fortress was taken. Their job was to regain control. These exercises lasted a week. Then I was home. I carried her everywhere. She was curious and somehow she had found the video regarding her mom. She was grateful I was her mom. She had met her siblings. They had exchanged stories. I was happy they were bonding. Batou was fixing his bike.
Once she was calm. I was summoned to see the emperor. I was told to call him Søren. I reminded him that we are on duty so we need to address each other by our official title. He was worried about the borders. So I left to handle it. A few pirates had come to make the place their own. I ordered them to use Atrope. Their engines were switched off. We used cutting torches to crack open their ships. We sent bots first they used plasma guns. Once they were distracted we used the concussion grenades to knock them out. I made sure the border patrol gave them nightmares. It got so bad from them that they stopped coming. Søren was pleased. I was awarded and then I went to have fun with Valentina. It was her birthday.
I decided she needed to understand this world she lives in. So I organized a party. We had cake and all sorts of delights. She was so happy. I waited till she was calm to ask her come with me. I explained, "I look human but I have not been human in ages. I am different. I want you to feel safe. I also want honesty which is why I am doing this. Don't be afraid. Ok. We are very different. But we will never hurt you." She nod her head and I held her as Oleg turned into a werewolf. I walked very slowly so she can acclimate. She reached out and touched his fur. She murmured, "This is so soft. He won't hurt me." I nod my head. Oleg extended his hand and Valentina hugged him. He gave her a pony ride. I told everyone to show themselves. The wolves changed and the vampires extended their fangs and their eyes changed.
I took a deep breath and told her to look at me. She turned around. She was so brave. I changed into beast mode. I was taller. She grinned as she touched my diamond hard skin. The rattlesnake style scale was something she found very amused. She ran her nails and laughed. I picked her up. She gave me a hug. I put her down and ran to change quickly. I came back before she had a chance to miss me. I picked her up and flew for an hour. She waved her hands in joy. I felt she had enough and tucked her to sleep. I quickly cleaned the mess. And looked up to see Roland was recording it. He had the 'I can't believe I saw it' face. I laughed and he put the device. Valentina came the next morning feeling refreshed. She stopped seeing monsters in her room.
Julian came and she gave him a hug. He happily hugged her and sat down to have tea with her. Cain also enjoying tea. She had decorated his wife's hair with a wreath of flowers. She entertained them till I came. I gave her a hug and they explained their grievances. Cain and his wife was here about the trespassing. I asked the werewolves patrol the area. I also asked them to make sure they used non-lethal methods. Julian was here about the council. He was hoping I could convince the government regarding the regulations regarding the security. He wanted to make the werewolves patrol not just during the night time. He wanted day time patrol too. I explained, "I don't want the outsiders knowing we can change at will. This is supposed to be a surprise." He was surprised no one told him. I apologized as I spread the word. Everyone agreed. Werewolves were seen wearing silver and that brought a smile to my face.
