We arrived at Nocny. We were taken to The Twilight Concordat base where the Crimson pack and Eclipse Vanguard were ready for the next round. Oleg and the others started the next round. We had to put our collective thinking so we can figure out what was going on. We know the gist of it all is so they can be immortal. The point was how to prevent it. Julian came bringing the notarized documents of our spies and allies. They painted a colourful picture. All we had to do was avoid the western galactic sector and parts of the southern sector. We had a routine and we stuck to it. We got a call from one of the Wraiths sent to protect our kids in college. Someone tried to kidnap one of the kids. I went over and requested the security footage. It was conveniently blurred. I checked the body cam footage. The person wore plain maroon shirt and black pants. I smelled the clothes and started tracking the creep.
I found the creep and I turned to see a perplexed officer. I asked him to arrest the guy. He was hyperventilating as he arrested the guy. I had a feeling he was in on it. So I asked him several questions. He finally admitted to taking bribery and he was arrested too. I made sure the entire process was done by the book. I came and gave the kids a hug. They were shocked, "You came!" I stared, "Yes I did. I am not letting anyone place you guys on harm's way." I loved them like they were my kids. The twins whined and Batou told them to grow up. They silently asked me to connect with them mentally. What they saw made them cry. I gave them more hugs and asked the Wraiths to stay hidden. Søren was shocked, "When did you do this?" I mumbled, "The day I sent my family to learn from these strangers. A part of me always felt that they would be harmed. So once the Wraiths and the Reapers were ready I sent them out in batches of threes and fours."
The next day I received a request to meet the head of law enforcement. A tired of lady was waiting for me. She asked me how I was able to find the person with smell. I kept my mouth shut. She politely explained, "You are not in trouble. I just want to hire you." I showed her my badge, "I am the general of the Nocturnal sector of the galaxy." She smiled, "The so called immortal ones." I grinned as I wanted to rake my nails over my arm. She would see how my skin was healing faster than her eyes could see. She saw my snarling face and apologised, "I am sorry for the disrespect. I was out of line" I asked her to monitor people from certain planets. Ravon, Adrinne, Socra, Physier and Delta. They are hate this planet and want us all to stop coming here. They want to make this place unsafe. So you have to expect much deadlier attacks in the future." She promised to be vigilant.
I arrived home and Søren asked me not to show off. I promised to behave. Oleg was grinning as he recalled the moment. The next day the Venus embassador's son was caught trying to break into the no entry zone. Embassador and I tried to calm him down. The father humbled the kid. He got angry and tried to stab him. I got in front and got stabbed instead. The embassador hit his son. I pulled the knife out. I felt the air get pushed out my lungs as the blade pierced me. Roland fed me blood and they watched as my injury disappear. The embassador was allowed to go once he rescinded his son's legal protection. The kid was taken to holding as I went to change my clothes. The embassador was someone who can't keep his mouth shut. So he spent the next hour explaining what he saw to the other embassadors. They used to joke about us. But now they take us seriously.
Julian and Søren came to see me as Oleg sent the knife to evidence. I made it clear they will try to use the blood so the knife mysteriously vanished. Actually Julian walked in and melted the knife in the basement furnace. The embassador came with his wife asking for clemency. Søren made it clear, "He assaulted my general. She is my friend. What he did is a not a minor issue." The embassador's wife pleaded, "Listen he was about to assault his father. The general got in the way." So Søren asked, "Are you saying your son is allowed to attack his own father?" The woman froze for a moment, "He is my son. I will gladly take his place." Julian shook his head, "What your son did is a punishable offense." The embassador promised to take this up to the supreme court. The judge agreed he deserves the death penalty. The embassador and his wife went home and we didn't hear from them again.
The other nations were curious how we had achieved what science has said was impossible. We simply said we evolved. A few came to ask for biological samples. I reminded them the law forbids such nonsense. They left disappointed. But I had a feeling they will find a clever way to collect a sample. So I first warned the student studying abroad. Next to our embassadors situated elsewhere. Then the Wraith and Reapers. Ollie and Jesse were approached by the scientists and they made it clear if they harass them again they are under arrest. I came up with a clever plan. What if we gave them a fake blood sample so they would leave us alone. We had to do it in a manner that doesn't lead back to us. Howler started coming up with ideas. A month later the science department got a false sample and they didn't know it until they examined it. They couldn't say anything because they had acquired it illegally. Serena congratulated the team for their efforts as I tried to get everyone a raise.
Physier sent people to attack the college again. The law enforcement was taken by surprise. The attacks were becoming more frequent. An investigation was conducted. The culprits explained, "As long as people have knowledge they will not be duped by us and our spiritual life style. If we believe that learning is a hazard they will think twice before they come here." The next one to attack was the Socra. They were charging enormous amounts to teach. This university was giving free education. This aroused their anger. Ravon were the next to attack and they were angry they were losing cadets to learning. This meant their army of conscripts were dwindling. Adrinne and Delta were annoyed because they used to be center of civilization. They got rich plundering wealth and resources. The university had diverted the population away so they wanted revenge.
The science department approached the Senate hoping to get a sample now it has been confirmed of our healing ability. The senators voted against the biological samples since they were already after the other nations for their abilities. Once the bill was passed they were told to stop trying to make the perfect being. It will never exist. They are fighting a losing battle. We were summoned for a friendly match. We played an intellectual game of panic room. We had to pretend we were stuck in a building and we had to get out. We were being pursued by unseen forces so we needed to act quickly. The first test was to unlock a door by deciphering a riddle. The answer was a hundred ten years. Exactly how long we have been part of the galaxy. The next one was a dirty hallway where people started to shoot at us. I used superspeed and got us to other side. But I didn't use terminal velocity. That is for special occasions.
The next was to pretend we were on a space ship trying to fix it so we won't get sucked into a black hole. There was leaking pipes and the engineering was down. We were cool under pressure as we completed the task. Then we got out of the game. The others were impressed by our quick wits and unity. The others were a few minutes late. The last group was stuck. They finally bit their pride to ask for help. We wore skin colour gloves so even if they try anything they won't get a thing. We went upstairs and burned our clothes and went to sleep. The next morning the organiser was looking particularly angry. I asked him if he got up on the wrong side of the bed. He explained that he had arranged a dinner. But we didn't attend. So he arranging lunch. I was told not to be late. I had a bad feeling so I told the others to hide as I attended the party.
The organisers was talking nonsense when a gunship came and opened fire on us. The ship looked like it belonged to the Orion Corp. I hid under the table until the firing ended. The investigative officer came and I showed him the bodycam footage. He was perspirating too much. So I asked him if this was a trap. He stuttered, "Don't be silly. We know the law. We don't attack our own. The Orion has gone far enough." I tapped on my Comms and ordered command to leak the footage. The investigative officer received the notification and the nearest one just huffed several times before he walked away. I was right. This was a trap. The Kaiser was warned and he issued an order to arrest the Orion Corp. The entire galaxy watched the footage over and over again. Some of the people who lost family members demanded their blood. I guessed they were checking my reflexes or trying to figure out exactly what other gifts I possessed.
I was ordered to come home. We will not be participating in military exercises till the crooks were caught. We did go to join the Galactic Olympic games. We played Sub-Atomic Archery. We shot kinetic round through collapsing gravity fields. Quantum Sprinting we ran through obstacle courses that sometimes glitched and gave us multiple dimensions to run. We used exoskeletons as we fought and drove through different terrains. We did complicated mathematics equations and manual instruments. We got second place. Which was cool. We won several prizes. Money, hotel reservation and so much more. We went to the hotel and we met the Orion Corp representative. He and his buddies tried to hd us hostage. I used superspeed and tied them up. The officers took them away and I had a bad feeling so I followed them. I saw the officer cut him loose. I was on my way back when I met a reporter. I showed her the footage and she took care of the rest.
