~FIVE YEARS AND TEN MONTHS LATER~
We got word that the war was over. Niña and Izmeer were captured. Their leaders were arrested and taken into custody. I was pleased. I warned Søren that there will be those who say to his face thanks for nothing. He left once I was certain he was prepared all scenarios. Søren asked me to go to Kirigan and Kaz for a well deserved spa treatment. Finally I would be able to remove my disguise. I gave Miranda a hug as I sat down. We cleared the debris field and woke the prisoners of war. They were interrogated and sent them home. We didn't implement any form of torture. I left for Kirigan's planet once they were safely deported. As Kai was restoring the streets back to normal. I still sent a few sentries to guard the miners. They are my family.
We arrived at the Solaria Promenade port. I walked out and Kirigan asked me to keep my disguise on. There still a few dozen suspicious characters in play. The hotels had a few bruises here and there. They were being repaired as we speak. I was taken to the Glitzy Prism. A hotel that is situated on the sea. It resembled a needle but the sides were going on a spiral. I was taken to the underground bunker where I changed back to me. I was told to avoid certain areas for the time being. I was directed to the Velvet Neon Spa and Resort. I was massaged till I fell asleep. I woke up when Oleg had believed I had enough sleep. The kids and Batou were there along with Signe and Miranda. We discussed what the next step is. I am the general for the next hundred years.
Signe suggested I pretend I was still a cop. I could be dressed in plain clothes to keep an eye out for traps. Søren was duly informed and Julian agreed. I still had to attend meetings and seek guidance from the council and the emperor. Julian was appreciative for the help I gave him. So he told me what to look out for and what to stay with. I was washed well and thoroughly with goodness know what. I liked it. It smelled heavenly. Oleg was chuckling as he got his back massaged. My entourage got the same treatment. We ate fine dining. Also we played pool and enjoyed the beach. I remember getting the highest score on holding my breath. The others all over the system was curious till I showed them an underwater maneuver. I had to promise to teach everyone that once I was home.
We went snorkeling with the manta rays and dolphins. We were pleased not to see sharks. The others agreed it would ruin the holiday. We ate ice-cream and played a game of basketball in the empty court. We were careful not to smash anything because we want to be invited again. Kaz was pleased because some of his other guests like to inflict maximum damage as a means of entertainment. I apologised and asked him to arrest such people. He explained, "They were arrested and detained. Now they are banned from coming. I received a few complaints but they are not my concern." I promised to be on my best behaviour. The others also promised. After dinner I went to sleep and woke up as the sun was about to set. I felt like I was all alone. I guess the guys were relaxing. I looked around to see they were by the side watching me sleep.
Oleg asked nicely, "What is the ice cream pose?" I blushed fifty shades of red. I got up with what dignity I had left. So Roland asked Batou but he had no clue. I was so glad he didn't know. He won't hesitate to show them. Like I said Batou is an expert interrogator so I need to be on my toes. I have already lost some of my dignity all because he showed everyone I had issues with the washing machine. I will not be able to face anyone if this gets out. Oleg was already curious. Cain was grinning and so was his lieutenant. I mumbled, "Let it go. I was a kid." Oleg wasn't going to let it go. Neither was Batou. He asked me nicely and I excused myself. I heard everyone laughing as I hid. I got cleaned up and we went out for a game of pickle ball. We were having fun till we heard a crash. One of the guests was trying to smash a room to pieces. I used super speed and had him detained. Then I yelled at him in unified.
I asked him if he had lost his mind. He was inebriated. So I gave him something to clear his head. I asked him if he had a ounce of respect for people's property. Just because he is here doesn't mean he can go around smashing other people's belongings. This place was decorated meticulously. Who have him the right of demolition. Kirigan said he just needs some common sense. I explained that common sense should now be called the rare intellectual achievement. Since common means for everyone and sense as in people knows but clearly he has no sense of respect. People do weird things and are told to have common sense but here's the thing. How can you ever use something you don't have. Roland started laughing as I continued to argue with the guest about his ill manners. Kirigan had enough and had him evicted. He thanked me as he ordered the bots to start the cleaning cycle.
He ordered the staff to come forward. I saw the confusion in most people. Oleg tapped me on the back as Miranda asked nicely, "What are they standing in a row." I explained, "This is for the benefit of the security so that they can remember who is staff members. It will be much easier to identify if a person tries to sneak in. The person can identified as an assassin." Ace was the first to come forward. Next Roland, Oleg and so on. When everyone had memorized their faces and smell then Kaz waved them away. I waved at them awkwardly to say hello. They also waved back with a smile. I asked Søren to send a stipend to the ones living here. Søren was in a council member. The council passed a motion to send anything they needed. Immediately Søren passed it. Kirigan smiled, "Thank you for your kindness."
We went to the race course to use the speed bikes. I first learnt to use it slowly then we all raced the course. Dex got first place. I got second place. I won the next round. Oleg after that. Then we went to eat. The werewolves noticed that I was very courteous to the vampires. I heard Roland think out loud. I replied, "When I first became this. The vampires were the ones who protected me. They defended me. They honoured me. Is there is any reason to be ungrateful?" I felt Søren's smile, "You really love us all?" I made it clear, "I love all of you equally. I don't want to forget respect where it is due. I don't hate werewolves. There are my family. They have taught me to humble" This made Cain smile. Oleg just gave me a hug. Kirigan came with a barrel of aged blood. He thanked me for convincing the terraformers to add a river of blood in Nocny.
Søren was surprised, "There is a river of blood in Nocny? Where is it?" I laughed, "There are three blood rivers in Nocny. All three are in the Vampire only district. I had the terraformers make sure it is always night time and there is a river of blood. The first one in Alucard. The next is Draven and the last in Styxian Mere. I figured it would be less stressful" I got thanks from a dozen vampires and a few werewolves asked me what I asked the terraformers to make for them. I told them, "I had them make a type of silver you touch without pain. There is a place in werewolf district that is literally like walking in moonlight. The floors and the walls all illuminate. It is very beautiful." Oleg asked me, "Where is the silver?" I shrugged, "In every mountain areas in the werewolf district. The moonlight is in five places. The first is Fenrir place. The next is Luperca Moore. The next is in Moon Ridge. The next is in the Crimson Creek and lastly in Jagged tooth valley."
I watched as the ones living in the area went to places. They were awed. A few said thanks. The others were speechless. I just I will hear from them in a few business days. This made everyone laugh hysterically. The council members were pleased. Some were having problems drinking artificial blood. This would make things easier. I have a mansion in Sanguine Ridge. The river flows nearby. The next one is near my house called Black ridge mansion. The last one is near my house The Nocturne Chateau. Søren promised to visit once he has the chance. The others explored the place and it was made a local only zone. Oleg danced with me till morning. I went to sleep and was woken up by Kirigan. There was an emergency meeting. I had to put my disguise on and answer the call. Søren was on the line.
He asked me to refuse an offer from the Kaiser because he believes that idiot was upto no good. The call was linked to the Kaiser and I waited for him to ask. I politely refused saying the Emperor's safety supercede any requests from the Kaiser. The old man was patient but I can tell his blood pressure was rising. He asked me again and I repeated my reply. I am not going. I don't work for him and I don't answer to him. I was assigned as general. My priority is Nocny. It is not the Kaiser. He apologised as he hung up. I gave my assessment, "He is cooking up trouble." Everyone concurred. Our senators were warned to tread lightly. I got a promise from all of them that they will watch their backs. A few minutes later the call came back. The Kaiser asked again. I explained, "My answer hasn't changed in the past five minutes. It is no and it will remain a no for the rest of my natural life." The old man stared coldly and I made it clear, "This call is being broadcast to the galaxy. So mind your words." He hung up and I didn't hear from him again.
