11 pm
The party was alright. I went to sleep in Alek's little sister's room as soon as I could. Their parents are on vacation so he's watching her. Which roughly translates to me babysitting the both of them. I know me and Alek are the same age, but that's kind of what it feels like. "CeCe!" Rachel's little giggle always cheers me up. She calls me CeCe, I don't know why. I feel like that'd be a better nickname for Cecilia. She jumps on me and climbs up like a koala. She's rather silly. "I want to swing! Swing Swing!" She's bouncing around so much I just have to agree. I carry her sideways and start spinning. "Wheeeee!" I love playing with her but when I spin her I get dizzy too. I hear the music getting louder and that tells me it's about time to hole up with Rachel in the fort. "What do you want to watch Rache?" She looks at me like our lives' depend on her answer. I wanna watch what you put okay?" But you have to stay uuup!" She throws her head back while hanging on my arm. So silly. I put her favorite show and I'm not going to lie on this-but since my answer is so important to her-I stayed cheering on her favorite parts even though I just wanted to sleep. She finally falls asleep after we finish like 4 episodes. This is when the party just started getting louder. Luckily she's a heavy sleeper. Just as I lay her down in her princess bed, I hear the door creak open. My brother Jayden comes in laughing so loud I think he's drunk. "Sshh. You'll wake her up." He just busts out laughing more. "You know how much I love you guys? Aww look at those chubby cheeks!" He goes to pinch her cheeks after I just laid her down. "Jay, look at the time. It is 3 in the morning and she's finally asleep. Please do not wake her up." He's not even paying attention to me. "Wakey wakey, eggs and bakey!" I slap his hand away from her face. "Dude seriously. Leave her alone." He turns to me. "Get that stick out your-" I slap him. "You are not going to talk to me that way, especially in front of her." He looks angry. "She's not even awake! What's your problem?" Now I'm angry. "It doesn't matter if she's awake or not. One she's not your kid OR mine, two she JUST fell asleep. Three, you're not going to disrespect me like that. I'm your sister, and even if I wasn't that is rude and disrespectful. Kids pick up on the smallest things and what happens when her parents get back and she ends up acting like that? They'll blame us for her behavior and she'll get in trouble." He just looks at me, lays down and goes to sleep. I sigh. I do really love my brother. I don't want to overreact. I hurry to grab a trashcan when I hear him gagging. "Bleurgh!" I made sure he's turned away from Rachel and off the bed that way I won't struggle to get the smell out of covers and have Rachel smell that all day. Just as I go to grab another trash bag from Rachel's bathroom I hear the door creak open. I go out with the bag in one hand and a spray in the other. When I see who comes in I feel like my eyes turned into slits like the Cheshire cat. "Cecil!" she tiptoes so happily towards me. "Hey Jess!" Jess is Alek's girlfriend. She's whispering so enthusiastically I laugh. Her happy whisper is as loud as someone talking. She comes over to hug me and when she does I hear the door opening again. It's Alek. At this point I feel like the party will end up coming here so I point to the door and head out the room. They follow after and I close the door for our heavy sleepers. "How are you?" I ask. "I feel like I haven't seen you in forever! What're you been doing?" She just giggles and grabs Alek's arm. "I've been planning a secret!" Yeah, shes drunk. Alek is looking at her like she has the stars in her eyes. My guts telling me maybe I dont want to ask. "Really? That's great why don't we go somewhere further to talk? We can catch up!" I just realized she's drunk. It can't be what I was thinking. I feel bad for feeling a bit relieved. I'm just scared. "Oh my gosh, yeah! Let's go on the swing!" This house has a wraparound porch with a bench swing, I love it and so does Jess. Aleks joins the party to let us talk. As soon as i close the back door she grabs my shoulder. "You knew didnt you? I knew you were acting strange lately but I thought I did something wrong, you looked so antsy! You're so good at surprises!" It takes me to realize what she's talking about until I realize she's wearing a new ring. "Congrats! You guys really look good together!"I smile. And I smile because I mean it. Shes the sweetest girl I know, and Alek doesn't smile as much when shes not there. He really made a great choice asking her. But I take due credit, I think I did great with the flowers.
Jess
I look at Cecil fighting and I can tell she's trying hard. She's really sweet. She actually looks happy for me right now. I hug her, but can tell immediately it's time to let go because she's trying not to figet. Poor girl. I take her to sit on the swing. She always looks so happy just being away from people. She doesn't know it, but shes my best friend. I wish she could understand those things, people and caring. Alek tells me constantly that I'm overthinking things but I'm not. Her stomach is a bit bigger, but not like last month. She won't talk about it and nobody else for the life of me has been able to tell. Why doesn't anyone else see? I cant wait to tell her all about my proposal, and she looks eager to hear. I tell her about the roses, and how I loved the way they were in the shape of the moon and how bright yellow they were. I tell her about the dress Alek bought me, which I can tell she chose. Alek can't tell blush pink from princess pink. It was a gorgeous wine red floor length dress with gold accents at the hem and gold and diamond shoulder straps. She has such good taste, but she won't dress up. I tell her about Alek's speech and how he was stuttering so much I thought the night was going to end before he said it. She's laughing so hard she cant breath. Thank goodness.
Cecil
5 am
"Oh gosh I needed that!" Im still laughing so hard i have to pee. "I'll be back I promise, wait out here for me! I'll be really quick!" Im heading inside when I bump into someone near the stairs. "Oh I'm sorry!" Im still trying not to laugh when I hear him. "B..." I stumble over the first step. I turn around to see who that was, but he's gone already, and I dont think I've heard his voice before. I'm trying so hard to breathe now, but its getting kind of hard. I should just leave. Why am I here? Just as I'm going to wake Jayden, I hear someone else talking about me. I know I sound crazy but I'm not dumb. I hear them clearly. I just want to hide. I try to walk quicker to rachels room without it being noticeable that im trying to hurry. I just want to cry. I open the door and see rachel crying. Jayden's gone so I guess she got scared. "Hey lady, what the matter?" I ask her. She's trembling. "The scary man was talking about you. He said you were gone!" At this point im confused because she loves jayden, so who...just as I'm laying her back down i hear a scream downstairs and something breaking. "Rache, want to play hide and seek?" I ask her with the biggest smile I can muster. Let's scare your brother! We'll trick him that I took you with me, yeah?" She looks so excited. "Okay! He won't be able to find me!" She laughs with the cutest little devious smile, and she hides in the playpen under a cover while I throw all the pillows i can find on top of her. I'm so scared.
