"Seems a long sword suits you quite well in your hand, Larissa." Luna said as she stood behind Larissa looking at her slashing sword in the air. Larissa got spooked by Luna suddenly standing behind her, and she didn't even realize that Luna was standing behind her at all and she didn't notice her presence at all as if she's a ghost. Larissa turned around to look at Luna but she was shocked with her weapon choice as she noticed Luna wearing a gauntlet with deadly spikes on both of her hands and a double headed axe with a long handle in her hands.
"Luna, are you certain that you want to use this double headed axe and gauntlet as your weapon, you can choose something different you know cause that axe looks heavy and the gauntlet is bit... how do I say this, you might have ended up hurting yourself with this." Larissa's face is full of concern as Luna seems to go with her liking instead of what suits her the best.
"It's all right Larissa, it suits me the best. One swing slash from this axe I behead the werewolf like cabbage and if it doesn't work just gonna smash their head like a pumpkin." Luna swung a double headed axe in air with her full strength and made a sharp wind cutting sound just by one slash. Some students standing around them look at their direction but they soon ignore her as many students just like making air cutting noises in the martial hall and to some they just appear as cringe show off, but some of these people caught Mr. Grey Maxwell eyes he made mental notes to pay attention to these students more. As he starts approaching students one by one who showed good results at choosing weapons.
"Kid, show me your attack move one more time."
"Girl, you have a talent for double daggers. You made the right choice." As he walks to each student one by one some of them get a happy expression on their face, while some seem frustrated and sad as they know they made the wrong choice with weapons but few of them are really stubborn with their decisions.
"You have made a pretty wild choice for weapons like this. If you don't mind, I would like to see you use your double headed axe one more time." Mr. Grey Maxwell approached Luna and Larissa as they were talking to each other. Luna looked at Mr. Grey Maxwell and nodded her in agreement as she stepped back to slash her axe in the air one more time.
WOOSH!!!
As she slash her axe in air sharp of air cut by the axe heard by the others once again. Her face is gleaming with the smile on her result, she places a double headed axe on her shoulder after demonstrating her attack power.
Mr. Grey lets out soft laughs as watch Luna and holds her double headed axe handle with one hand and casually takes it away from her. Luna's expression got tense, did she do something wrong?
"Youth, full of spirit, energy and courage, you are strong and your strength is something but young girls don't place such sharp and heavy weapons close to your delicate neck." Mr. Grey Maxwell holds the axe in different positions by placing the head of the axe on ground and tail up above as it's easy to hold without harming oneself or the others, showing how to hold such heavy weapons cause any mistakes might accidentally send her to heaven.
The hall filled with the students moved their eyes at Luna as her attack attracted their attention, such display of strength isn't rare but it isn't common either among them yet. But they will take their time to watch and see how promising people can be in future as hidden talents don't shine at the first time.
"What's your name kid?" Mr. Grey asked as he saw her strength and talent.
"My name is Luna Proklyataya." Luna's eyes shine with a proud and joyful expression as she saw Mr. Grey Maxwell only asked a few students their name as they all showed promising talent and ability and she's one of them.
"The slash that you just made now seems like a professional using martial arts technique after practicing every day for years. Do you know how to use a double headed axe before?" Mr. Grey Maxwell as Luna might be from some martial family or inherited some skills that might have been long lost.
When all the students look at her demonstrating slash, they already know from looking at it that Luna Proklyataya came from a martial artists' family. When Werewolf have emerged in front of human society, at the same time came people with special ability and old martial arts practicing family to the human society first no one wanted to share their knowledge with normal people but seeing that human are starting to lose and more stronger and stronger werewolf are starting to come out in war and normal rifle of that time took too much time to load with gun powder before soldier could load shoot bullet from the refile werewolf claw would be already before their face to ripped out their head from their neck and at some point the cannon they thought powerful enough to blast them into pieces become ineffective as it would even land scar on their body.
Causality in war become so high that it was like they were sending lamb into wolf mouths instead of war many countries start to fall in this war and that's when werewolf with superpower emerge, human were not ready for this it was already hard for them to think and accept that there is another sentinel intelligent race besides human race and now this race can use superpower like snow, fire, water and lightning and can also shapeshift into human race. In the frontline, in strategic meetings and even the normal people can't trust one another as they did before, what if one besides them is werewolf in human skin. It reaches to point of self-annihilation and that's when first clan emerge sharing their aura practicing method following their lead many more families and sect share their practicing method and that's when people left in up roar as first human being with power to produce water out of the thin air emerge they can control water and make water out of their body and more people with super powers ability came out in light began to help normal people awaken this power too.
They had to share their knowledge of how to get special ability power, but the process was too risky at the time. The process was human has to swallow core as whole while some by chance become lucky enough to somehow survive, but the unlucky people died by their body exploding because of power within that core has enormous energy that human body can't adapt too.
When the werewolf started appear government did get the core in their hand and scientists did many experiment with core, but that didn't work out in the end because technology that time was old, so they didn't have a good deal of equipment for safe process than, but after 300 years has passed and many new technological discoveries had been made scientists and safe process had been invented that let human digest werewolf core safely without dying. The safe process had been made, but normal people can't afford it, it's too expensive. It costs millions of money only rich people can afford. If you do not belong to special ability user family or martial arts family then you don't even have the right to dream about it, only option left for normal citizens is to get enrolled into the army after earning merit and trust than normal people have chance to get core for themselves.
The name of the process is Womb, the human body had to remain inside the incubator that was filled with various chemicals and werewolf cores for 10 to 15 days, but it also depends on the tier of core too. If the tier of the core is higher, a more evolving human has to remain in the womb for a long time inside to completely digest the core. There are still some families that use old methods. They think by doing this they will get more strength and power despite having high risks. There always comes news sometimes that because of using old methods people were dying.
The reason why some students were envious of Luna is because when she made that vertical slash, she reminded them of the gap between normal students and those who came from the clan or sect. They came from lower income families doing their best to get admission here, so they can have a better future for themselves and their family as they climb up on the social ladder of the society. They want to come out of their poor financial condition and have a better life and give a better life for their family and most importantly defend humanity.
"No sir, this is my first time using the double head axe and I just made a swing imagining how to make it look awesome." Luna said it with a tiny awkward smile on her face.
When students around her heard that they all look at her with one word appearing in their minds liar, how is this possible when someone use this double headed axe perfectly if they didn't use it for years, how can someone lie with straight face she didn't even shame while saying lie in front of everyone even Larissa and Mr. Grey also look at Luna as she is saying a blunt lie?
