Chapter 1 - Arrival

[The Omega System activated.]

[Purpose: What's a peace but the conclusion of a conflict of war, what's a hero but the ender of the evil. For peace to exist, there must be conflict; for the world to be saved, it must face danger, the evil must exist so heroes may rise one day to end them. You are the architect of the end, the scribe who carves the legends, the peacebringer that history never mentions. You are the great evil that tips the balance of good and evil, so the good may return, burning ever so brighter. Create evil, bring chaos, evil is your tool, villains are your colors, the world is your canvas, and the heroes' hard-earned happily ever after is your artwork.]

[User guide: Be the origin point of chaos and destruction and collect Omega Points so you can use the System Store to cause even more chaos and destruction.]

[Function: You can buy and open [Chests] from the store, which contain randomly generated [items], [template], and [entities] from across the omniverse. Or as the mortals like to call it's a gacha.]

[Items: everything that's external that doesn't originate from the possessor itself is counted as an item. Creatures that come along with the items in special conditions, such as being imprisoned, will be under complete control of the host.]

[Template: It grants the possessor things saved in the template itself; the template could possess anything from a single ability, a piece of knowledge, a certain skillset, to a complete character profile.]

[Entity: Beings that are summoned from across the omniverse, which can range from a local multiverse, or macroverse, to something that doesn't belong to any worlds or verses that exist simply in the void. They will be completely loyal to you and will be under your complete control, but they aren't mindless slaves. They would follow your every order faithfully, but they could form their own opinions and do it their own way. They could never harbor negative emotions towards you, but the same can't be said about indirect things such as order or events resulting from your direct action.]

[Chest: Each chest contains three cards, which would turn into one of three categories, but one chest can generate only two cards of the same category; the remaining last card must always be a different category.]

*In an unnamed alleyway in the Vale.*

"Sigh… System, you can't tell me this was the best body available." The child groaned in pain as he slowly got up from the bags of trash he was using as a bed. The stench was horrible; he could feel his stomach churning up from the moment he opened his eyes in this world. Not only that, this unfamiliar small body was in a pathetic state; even if the system restored its current state to the optimal state for him, it was still far from enough.

[This body has been chosen according to the host's request of "as young as possible". The system has chosen the youngest body that could be capable of handling your soul.]

"But… a street rat? Really?..." He scratched his head in frustration, but it was too late to complain; what is done has been done, so let's make the best out of the situation. First, he needed to understand where he is beyond being in an alleyway.

Once he stepped out of the alleyway, what greeted him was high-rise buildings towering over each other. Everything looked rather modern, here and there, there was some holographic tech adding a soft sci-fi feel, but the infrastructure and all that looked like any other urban city structure.

'Okay, not too far from home, so far so good.' After getting the basic feel of his immediate area and looking at the still familiar 21st-century style architecture, he felt that transmigration confusion was slowly fading away. 'System, have you fully adapted to the world?'

[Adaptation progress is currently at 1 percent. Currently available functions are personal-focused functions: [Stats], [Inventory].]

[System-focused functions are currently locked: [Store], [Travel].]

'How long till the full adaptation completes?' Being locked from the system store, his main growth path was a troubling revelation. He should adjust his plans depending on the remaining adaptation time; no need to take needless risks for points if they're currently useless.

[Staminated time: 29 days, 23 hours, 59 minutes.]

'It's longer than I like it to be, but it is still manageable. It will all depend on what I would draw from [Novice Chest].' Before he gets thrown into a random world by the system, in the purgatory, he gets some time to talk with the system about a few things. From its general purpose to its function and other complications like the system adaptation time, it needs to bypass the world repulsion force. Depending on the world rank, the adaptation duration will differ greatly.

'30 days seems long to me, but according to the chart shown to me by the system, this world's rank should still be within the 1st-Rank Zone.' At least one of his hidden worries is roughly resolved. Rank 1 world adaptation times are stated to be between a week and three months. So 30 days were on the lower side; that was something he should be grateful for since the system warned him that the first jump would be random, so he might land on high-ranking death worlds.

'System open [Novice Chest].'

Suddenly, a small window appeared in front of him, playing a cutscene of something trying to break free from a chest. Chest jumps around a few times before bursting open, and several energy orbs fly out from inside it, leaving trails of light. Soon, the orbs start landing one after another in front of the screen, turning into cards.

[Item: Venom Set

Rank: F

Description: A suitcase containing several large containers with a super drug known as Venom and equipment meant to safely inject it into your bloodstream, allowing you to negate its original side effects, even turning some of them into enhancements. Its most well-known user is known as Bane.

Note: The equipment is designed to be implanted into the user's body permanently, which is recommended to be done with the help of professional doctors and surgeons.]

[Item: RED

Rank: F

Description: Ghost in a machine, demon behind the codes, what you got is an old NES Godzilla that's infected by an infernal demon named RED. Once connected to a machine or network, it can possess said technology, using it as a medium to haunt others who use that network, slowly driving them to their death, trapping them inside its origin point to feed itself.

Note: Currently, it takes the form of a game cartridge, but don't worry, if needed, it could shapeshift into something more modern.]

[Entity: Shadow

Rank: F

Powers: [Incorporeal Existence], [Stealth], [Death Aura].

Description: A living shadow that has been separated from its caster. Often, the first incorporeal undead enslaved by necromancers, they may be basic, but they are no means weak. Able to seamlessly take the form of a normal shadow and blend into the darkness, it's a great scout and even better assassin. By its undead nature, it carries the essence of rot and death; even being near it sends shivers down one's back, and its touch will drain them of their will and strength, slowly leading them to their death. Once the victim has fallen, their shadows will be separated; those who carried bad karma shall feed it, while those who carried good karma shall be enslaved by it.

Note: One of the Forgotten Realms' finest novice adventurer killers.]

Without hesitation, he summoned Shadow first. Soon, the card containing Shadow bursts into a light, the next second, something rose from the dirty floor. The shadow rose like a sheet of black silk, both illusory and real, forming a rough silhouette of a human. It bowed, waiting for its command.

"Go scouting, I need to get a rough idea of the local area." Shadow nodded its head before merging back to the ground. Under the cover of night, it flawlessly fuses with the surrounding darkness. Since Shadow was taking care of the scouting, he decided to check his status window while waiting for it.

[Name: Jonathan "John" Grim.

Items: [Venom Set], [RED].

Templates: None.

Entities: [Shadow]

Abilities: [All-Speak], [Mind Barrier], [Soul Protection], [Power-Lock], [Blank], [Prodigy].

OP: 0.]

The status window was simple, too simple to his liking, but still, it was better to have something that could help him keep an eye on his assets. 'System, where did those abilities I possess come from?'

[Those are powers granted to you by default for possessing a system. If you wish, I could show you their descriptions.]

'Okay.'

[Ability: All-Speak

Description: Allows the possessor to communicate with all sapient beings, understand, and write in any language that contains meaning.]

[Ability: Mind Barrier

Description: Grants immunity against powers that directly influence the mind that you haven't permitted.]

[Ability: Soul Protection

Description: Grants immunity against all direct influence on your soul that you haven't permitted.]

[Ability: Power-Lock

Description: Protects your powers from being tampered with, copied, altered, and erased without your permission.]

[Ability: Blank

Description: Powers that predict the future cannot account for your actions; clairvoyants that peer into the past or watch over the present cannot search for you; people trying to conjure up information about you using only their power would find nothing.]

[Ability: Prodigy

Description: Grants an exponential growth and mastery boost upon the powers you possess and the ability to learn ones located in your current world or one you have visited before.]

Those powers were all essential to his survival and future growth. He might not be well-versed in pop culture and the ever-expanding fictions created by various creators, but powers that can affect one's mind, soul, and predict the future weren't exactly newly introduced powers in fiction. And he would never underestimate the danger of any of those powers, no matter how weak.

With his mental command, an old game cartridge with a classic Godzilla pic printed on it, under it, the game title "Godzilla: Monster Of Monsters" is printed in classic horror movie font: Creepster.

"Can you hear me?" John asks while looking at the cartridge, and he feels it vibrate a little, answering his question. "Good, how far can you shapeshift? Can you turn into something akin to a bank card?"

This time, it didn't vibrate; instead, the cartridge started melting. The small pieces of it fell on the ground until what remained of it was a card with Godzilla printed upon it. There was even a card number and ccv number, logos such as Mastercard and Visa have been printed too.

'Even though I don't think the probability of those existing in this world is low, who knows? Besides, as long as it can be put inside the ATM, RED should be able to possess it.' That would swiftly solve his financial problem for now. 'Hope this world uses ATM and bank cards.'
