Chapter 3 - Mission: Cool Down Mr. Sun

The blazing sun overhead felt like a spotlight on a stage where the friends were about to perform their most ridiculous act yet.

Selena squinted and pointed dramatically at the sky. "There he is! Mr. Sun himself, glaring down at us like he's the boss of the world."

Gala wiped sweat from her forehead. "I don't know if I'm brave or just crazy for agreeing to this."

Sam pulled out his phone, already filming. "This is going viral. 'Brave humans confront Mr. Sun during heatwave.' Perfect."

Yan chuckled. "Okay, team, what's the plan? Are we talking to the sun? Writing him a strongly worded letter? Sending a fruit basket to his wife?"

Selena tapped her chin, thinking. "Hmm… Maybe we need a peace offering. Something to calm Mr. Sun's anger. What does a sun like?"

Gala raised an eyebrow. "Are you seriously negotiating with a giant ball of gas?"

"Why not?" Selena grinned. "It worked in the story. Maybe Mr. Sun just wants to be appreciated."

Sam shrugged. "I'm down for ice cream. I think Mr. Sun might melt a little if we all have ice cream."

Yan nodded approvingly. "Ice cream. Yes. That's the answer."

The group made their way toward the nearby park, each step feeling heavier in the heat.

Selena held up a small bag of ice cubes she'd grabbed from the convenience store. "Here's the peace offering. Cold, refreshing, and totally un-sunlike."

Gala laughed. "You really thought of everything."

Sam squinted at the sky, pretending to speak. "Dear Mr. Sun, please cool down and maybe send us a breeze. We promise to share this ice cream with you."

Suddenly, a cool gust of wind blew through the trees, rustling the leaves softly.

Everyone stopped.

"Did you feel that?" Yan asked, wide-eyed.

"Maybe Mr. Sun heard us!" Selena said excitedly.

Gala smiled. "Or maybe the weather just decided to be nice for once."

Sam grinned. "I'll take it either way. Ice cream time?"

"Absolutely," Selena declared. "Heatwave or not, friends and ice cream always save the day."

They all laughed, heading to the ice cream stand, leaving the blazing sun to cool off (hopefully).
