At first, Eliott paid little attention to the rumors surrounding Alex.
Why should he?
Every morning, he woke with her beside him, and every evening her smile was enough to erase the day's exhaustion. Work was demanding, the movie was approaching fast, and RoyalStar needed more of his time than usual—but having Alex near made everything feel lighter. That hadn't changed.
What had changed was that lately she hadn't been around much.
For several days she had been leaving early and coming home late, often too tired to do anything more than kiss him goodnight before her eyes closed. Eliott noticed the little change but he didn't ask. He trusted her to come to him if something was wrong.
That didn't mean the distance sat comfortably.
So when they finally found a rare evening to simply exist together, he had no intention of letting it be interrupted.
