On the other side of the realm, Ryley woke with a sharp gasp as thunder tore across the sky.
He winced as he pushed himself up, one hand pressing against his temple while his scattered memories slowly crawled back into place.
For a moment, there was only the unfamiliar wooden room, the storm raging outside, and the strange heaviness still clinging to his body.

He had forged one with Angus—and, much to his surprise, the bastard had agreed without putting up nearly as much resistance as Ryley had expected.
"Hey. Seems like your friend just landed from the other realm."
The door suddenly swung open.
Ryley jolted so hard his hand flew to his chest.
"Can you fucking not—tsk!"
Angus strode into the room as if nearly scaring the soul out of him was nothing worth apologizing for.
Ryley sucked in a shaky breath, glaring at him before forcing himself off the wooden bed.
