Pearl's situation with his Wood root was a unique one that Alex hadn't come across in any other person yet.
His Wood root was intrinsically linked to his Azure Dragon's bloodline, and his bloodline was linked to his roots. So long as Pearl did not have a Supreme grade Wood root, he would not have an Azure Dragon's bloodline, and so long as he did not have the bloodline, he would not have the Supreme grade Wood root.
It was a conundrum that had caused Alex to be unable to heal that aspect of his body forever. Every pill he fed, every check he did, all came back fruitless, for he couldn't fix the permanently destroyed bloodline from his body.
Even transplanting someone else's Wood root wouldn't work, for the destroyed bloodline would destroy the Wood root somehow. If not that, the overwhelming might of the White Tiger's bloodline might ruin it too.
