After about the twentieth day, and confirming absolute safety, the group hiding in the cellar finally returned to the surface.
The cavalry, locked up for a full twenty days, shouted and cheered wildly. Some ran across the hills and fields; others simply rolled into the stream in front of the door. Each one was exhausting themselves madly, determined to not stop until utterly exhausted.
The vast world they finally returned to, the fresh air, sunshine, and dew excited them to no end.
Erwin also wished to join them, but his body had not yet fully recovered, so he could only sit aside and watch from a distance. Even if he just came out of the stinking cellar and desperately wanted a bath, he could only take off his clothes and cautiously test the waters. Only after confirming that his wounds would not sting from the icy stream did he fully immerse himself.
The cavalry were noisy, and it seemed as if the world had suddenly returned to its former beauty.
