Chapter 15 - Heaven Is Crumbling Down

Do you sometimes wake up in the morning, wishing that whatever happened the night before was a dream? I had never, but the first morning when I woke up next to Xiao Lan, I wished it was all a dream.

I was thrown out of the car with a small backpack. The heartless Xiao Lan told me that if I was still alive, he would meet me at the bottom of the mountain. I wasn't used to this kind of cold yet. On this stupid mountain, the snow was thicker, the wind was stronger, and colder.

After what we had been through, the heartless Xiao Lan just threw me to the side of the mountain road and drove away without even encouraging me. On this lonely snow-capped mountain, I felt very lonely. I felt heartbroken. I began to regret that I had wanted to get close to Xiao Lan and gather his weaknesses to defeat him, but at the same time, I knew: no sweat, no success. I picked up my backpack and slowly followed some people down the mountain.

I didn't see much ahead; I only saw some wavy figures rushing down the mountain road. I thought these must be new students. These people meant business, and they didn't care about anything except themselves. I could see everything when I was inside the Holy Mountain, but outside this Holy Mountain, I was back to my normal self again, seeing the world as light gray and wavy figures.

I slowly walked down the trail that other people had already gone down. I thought I heard rumbling sounds from above, but I didn't care much. I continued to walk slowly along the mountain road. After a while, I heard the rumbling sound getting stronger and stronger, the wind getting stronger and stronger, and all the hair on my neck stood up. I turned around and saw the gray mountain leaping towards us.

At that moment, I began to panic because if the avalanche fell on me, the snow would bury me alive. I had been running as fast as possible, and then I saw many wolves running down the mountain.

I was not familiar with the system at that time, so I didn't know what would happen. I always wanted to know where the people who ran with me just now were. Then I saw wolves slowly turning into humans, but they were not completely human. They stretched out their hands to try to stop the avalanche. I thought these people were stupid; how did they stop the avalanche with their hands?

I ran until I reached the end of the mountain. I looked down, and the cliff was very high. If I jumped off the cliff, I would definitely die. I looked at the two men next to me, and it seemed that they created some kind of clear energy wave to shield them. I thought everyone could do this, so I stretched out my hands, but there was nothing. I rubbed my hands many times, but nothing came out. I suddenly realized that Xiao Lan had given me a backpack. I put down my backpack and looked inside. I found a rope. I tied both ends of the rope to each of the men's waists. I stood in the middle and wrapped the rope tightly with both hands.

"Are you crazy?" One of the men asked me.

"Hey, I don't have the power to protect myself from natural disasters like yours. Help protect me for now. I will repay later," I said innocently. "If you two don't protect me together, then the three of us will die together."

One of the men began to untie the rope.

"It's heading directly at us!"

When the snow rushed down onto us like a bomb that just exploded with particles flying everywhere, I screamed loudly, and then I realized that the snow hadn't touched me at all. I finally had the courage to open my eyes and face my fear. I felt like I was standing at the end of two confluent rivers. I saw the snow sliding past us. I was very impressed with how the power of these two men saved us.

After the avalanche passed, the two men broke the ropes and ran to the left quickly. I quickly put the remaining rope into the backpack and chased them. I saw a small empty area with twenty people in it. Some people hugged each other; some were as lonely as me.

I sat in a small corner between two rocks, and I knew why people who used to work with Xiao Lan would not ask his parents to be free but chose to betray Xiao Lan.

The cold wind roared throughout the night, and the snow began to accumulate. Everyone cuddled together, and I was the only person who had no partner to cuddle with. I was alone in the corner, the black sheep that no one wanted. They didn't want to be friends with me because the two men told them about our altercation with the avalanche.

As long as creations have mouths, they will gossip; whether they are animals or humans, there is no difference. When I pretended to sleep, I heard animals talking about me, which hurt me to some extent, but I had to admit that they were correct about me. I was not as strong as them. I didn't even believe I should be here. I wasn't sure why I was here in the first place. Was the reason they treated me badly because of Xiao Lan? Xiao Lan seemed to be a very popular subject between their lips.

I started shaking not because of their gossip, but because it was cold. I was shaking, thinking of my warm bed. I missed that soft bed, where there was a thick blanket, and I slept inside Xiao Lan's warm arms. No...no...no... why was I thinking about Xiao Lan? I slapped myself, and my face hurt. I shouldn't be thinking about him. I would continue to focus on how much I hated him.

"I hate Xiao Lan because he is a jerk. I hate Xiao Lan because he thinks he is too handsome..." I continued to talk to myself about all the things that made me hate Xiao Lan, and my anger boiled. As my anger increased, my body temperature also increased.
