You know seeing this guy up close. Made me realise just how bloody stupid he looked.

"You're kidding, right?" I scoffed at Remo's offer. A freaking Gabite, for my Crystal Steelix? Rare as the Garchomp line were, Steelix was one of a kind, "In what world are any of your pokemon stronger than mine?"

I looked the behemoth of a man up and down, he looked like a make-up-less kabuki stripper. Nasty as fuck, "Your strongest pokemon is that Garchomp right? Not very impressive to be honest," I smirked goadingly at him, "How about you toss it, the Garchompite it was wearing, your Goodra, that Gabite, , your key stone your showing off on that stupid umbrella and five hundred million pokedollars and I might think about it."

"Eh?" Astrid gaped at me-

While Remo? His face turned a puce red as he sputtered, "That's outrageous!" he roared at me, leaning over to look me straight in the eye, his own narrowed into a glare, "You think your shiny rock is worth that much? You're quite the arrogant little brat aren't you?"

"That's funny coming from you," I guffawed, "I saw your battle with that Tierno kid. You brought out two Pseudo Legendaries on a newbie trainer and acted like you were hot shit. I can tell you now, I'm not impressed. They're poorly trained, you'd be better off giving up being a trainer and giving them to a real trainer instead of keeping them with a useless incompetent like yourself."

Maybe I was being a bit too antagonistic. But, this guy was a bit of a cunt. And annoying, who did he think he was comparing some measly little Gabite to my fucking Steelix?

But beyond that…this did present an opportunity for me. I've been trying to be a better person after my talk with Surge. But it's fine for this right? This guy is a massive cunt.

"Little bastard…!" Remo bit out, eyes glinting with fury, "What does a measy little brat like you know of training pokemon? I've been training pokemon longer than you've been alive!"

"And that's all you've got to show for it?" I laughed at him, shaking my head, "Jeez, now I feel sorry for you. No wonder you have to bring out Pseudo Legendaries against newbie trainers. You're completely talentless as a trainer huh?"

He wasn't mind you. No matter your age, nobody that could actually get eight gym badges and make it to the league could be called talentless, never mind a guy with two pseudo legendaries, mega evolution and was the favourite to win. That didn't mean I wouldn't call him as such though.

A vein pulsed angrily on his forehead, "You talk tough huh?!" he all but shouted in my face, and Arceus damn was his breath rancid. Buddy, ever heard of a bloody tic tac? "I'd love to see you back it up though!"

"Bet." I smirked at him.

He leaned back in surprise, "A bet?" he repeated.

Well, not quite what that meant. But, "Yep," I shrugged, "We'll bet on who wins this little tournament, me or you."

His beady eyes gleamed, "That I can get behind brat," Remos laughed, "And what is a bet without stakes? Perhaps you'll have the balls to bet that Steelix of yours."

"Sure," I shrugged again casually, "If you want to put your Garchomp, Garchompite, Goodra, that Gabite, your key stone and five hundred million pokedollars up against Steelix."

The vein pulsed again, "Brat…!"

"Don't burst a blood vessel old man," I snorted, I flicked my hand, and Rotom dropped three small spheres into my hand that I held up between my fingers, "How about I put these up on the table?"

Both Remo and Astra's eyes went wide, "Three mega stones!?" Astrid gasped.

"Yup," I held them up tauntingly at Remos, "Blastoisite, Venusaurite and Aerodactylite. Three for three I'm thinking. How about, against that Gabite you brought up, the Garchompite you have and your key stone. That's a fair bet right?"

The one thing I wasn't sure of that old movie bastard having, was a proper key stone. My only other choice would be to go to Gurkinn for one.

But there was no guarantee he'd give me one.

However, here a big dope has presented himself on a silver platter.

"…Three of them, just where did you find three of those at your age?" Remo grit out, near trembling. With rage or envy I couldn't tell, perhaps both, "It took me over a decade to find my keystone and Garchompite…!"

"That sounds like a you problem," I snorted, wiggling the stones at him tauntingly again, "If you're too scared to take on a newbie brat just say so instead of changing the subject."

"WHO SAID I WAS SCARED!?" Remo burst out, the vein on his forehead mega evolving and gaining the ultra pulse ability, "Fine, you're on brat! I'll see you in the finals, if you even make it that far! Don't go crying to your mummy when I crush you!" he snarled, before turning and stomping away.

"My mums dead actually." I helpfully informed him, "And my dad too." I cheerfully added, and almost burst out laughing as he stumbled, before quickly power walking away.

"Well…that was something." Astrid uttered blankly after Remo was out of earshot.

"A bit yeah," I agreed, stowing the mega stones away, "Sorry about that. That guy just pissed me off."

She glanced at the behemoth of a mans retreating back, "Yeah, he does that a lot from what I've heard, he's quite abrasive," the blonde nodded, before looking back at me and raising an eyebrow, "Three mega stones huh? That's really impressive."

"More luck than anything." I assured her.

"Hmm, I don't think so," she chuckled, stepping into my personal space and looking me over again. She really had no concept of personal space huh? Not that I'm complaining, "One is happenstance, twice can maybe be attributed to luck. But three times is a pattern, and when you defeat Remo, you will have four."

She was looking a bit too much into it. I honestly hadn't been expecting to find any of them. It really was just pure luck.
