Destrian glared at the Yorucian king. It was obvious what he was planning, and he wasn't so much as trying to hide his intentions. Couldn't he come up with a better trap?
When his gaze landed on Marlena, he understood why Cassius was so certain this would work. Sure enough, the man smirked provokingly.
"What do you say, Prince Destrian? Are you willing to do what it takes to give Marlena a title, or will you abandon her after taking her purity? Wouldn't your heart ache if she were seen as a used gown?"
Destrian's hands clenched into fists. "Stop talking about her as though she's an object!"
If they were already engaged, Destrian would have punched Cassius in the face for that remark. Alas, he didn't have the right yet, and there was already enough animosity between the two kingdoms without the complication of battling royals.
