Chapter 1 - Wait up!

It was perfect. The day was so beautiful. The grass sparkling in the front yard. The sun shining through my windows. Best of all a light breeze was slipping through my windows. I wake up and breath in the fresh spring air before sitting up and taking a nice big stretch. The take my time looking out the window at the willow tree. Its branches wave in the wind and I smile getting up out of bed without a struggle this time and head straight for my dresser. Opening it up I search for a bit before pulling out a light blue tank top then searching through the contents of the next drawer down, hoping I could find something other then the cursed jeans. I hated jeans, always will and always have. But it seems like They'll have to do. Quickly snapping a bra on grumbling to myself. The struggle to put on the tank top began. The top struggling just as much getting onto me as I do trying to put it on, but I succeed. Quickly panties are switched out with a fresh pair and then the wretched jeans are slipped on with a black diamond studded belt to top it off (no butt cracks here). After taking a glance in the mirror I travel to the living room slipping and almost splitting the jeans on a piece of paper that had probably fallen from the closet door (at the end of my hallway in front of my room). I pull myself together and grab the note printed with my mother's sloppy and rushed handwriting.

Morning y|n,

I'm sorry your father and I had to leave before you got to say goodbye. But you know how work goes. Otherwise I hope you have a great day and don't forget to eat breakfast and to pack something for lunch. We Love you y|n.♥

I couldn't be upset at the dramatic fatality this note caused me. It was just my mother with the best of intentions writing a goodbye before work. I pocket the letter and walk over to the fridge to grab some waffles but, stop seeing a flash of something golden out of the corner of my eye traveling up the walkway. Turning and walking over I look through the window. There stands a childhood friend with an all to innocent smile hesitating to knock at the door before fixing his hair, standing straighter and confidently this time following through with the knock. My feat knew the drill, carrying me to the door and opening it wide.

"Good morning y|n,"

"Morning Jimin, what's up?"

"Oh well we haven't really talked in awhile and I was walking to school so I thought I'd stop by and say hello," I cocked my head to the side in confusion. It was pretty early in the morning. I couldn't understand why he'd be going there at this time.

"Why were you walking to school so early?"

"I was sick of taking the the bus, it was getting expensive and my one friend just left cause he had just bought himself a car, and the only way to school I know is past the library and than down the street past here,"

"That's pretty far Jimin. Here come in you can sit down till it's time to go,"

"Really?"

"Yes really, that's a far walk!" his smile sends chills down my spine, I have never seen something so vibrant in my life. Nor have I ever seen teeth so white. I leave the door open and head to the kitchen with a small smile of my own. I couldn't help not letting him in. His house was really far from the school so he needs some rest before the second half of the journey. Going back into the fridge and I out the waffles placing them in the toaster. While that's cooking I walk into the living room where Jimin was sitting down peacefully enjoying our comfortable couch. I guess he hadn't really noticed me judging by the was he looks up at and proceeds to shy away by looking back down. A bright red blush flares upon his cheeks, I couldn't not smile at this reaction. Then duty calls after the waffles pop out of their toasty hotels. I look back before turning to stride into the kitchen, snagging a plate from the cabinet on the way to my victims. Unplugging the toaster my fingers swiftly dodge the heat while plucking the cinnamon delights out of their hiding place. After the deed is done I walk back to the couch where Jimin sat and hand him the plate.

"Y|n you didn't have to make this for me," I wave the silly thought away of telling him that I was planning on cooking the pastries whether he was here or not.

"No, but you looked hungry and I was making them anyways. Also they are some of the best tasting waffles on this planet I can't let myself parish before spreading the goodness of these, these blessings," he takes a bite trying not to laugh to hard at how dramatic I was being, and when I tell you thought he was smiling hard before after witnessing the delight of tasting the waffle I had to laugh and partially sit there in awe that he could look any happier.

"They taste amazing how did you make these?"

"Don't get to excited," a giggled slightly escapes my lips,"I put them in the toaster for a few minutes," Immediately the waffle drops from his hands as they clap together in applause making me go from a light hearted giggle to a full on laugh. Before I have the chance to follow through with the rest of the flurry of feelings his face turns back to being serious while his hands retreat to his sides.

"Don't you have any for yourself?"

"no I gave you the last of that box," a slight glitter of gratefulness lingers in the eyes of the beholder (of the waffles) and he picks one of them up, extending his arm towards me.

"You take this one and don't even say 'no I can't, this is your food' because you haven't eaten and I refuse to take your favorite food and eat it in front of you after so rudely invading your living space," i snatch the waffle and dig in. Halfway through a mouth full respond (with a hand over my mouth of course)

"Wasn't planning on it,"  I didn't hesitate to down the whole thing in a few more bites. Then decide to look at the clock and realize we had to get going.

"Oh crud, Jimin we have to leave," I speed walk over to my sock drawer slipping two of them on and then my tennis shoes before swinging my backpack over my shoulder in the most violent of ways,"Jimin? Jimin where'd you go?" I look around but he's nowhere to be found, how quiet could he be? I find the door opened a little and figured he must have left without me... How rude (sarcasm) but I just shrug it off, grabbing my keys and heading out the door and locking it behind me. Then right out of the door speeding away without a second thought. Until I hear footsteps charging from behind.

"y|n wait up your to fast," of course in a matter of no time he's right by my side leaving me dumbfounded.

"Where'd you go?" He just shrugs as we keep walking towards our high school. How... How does he not even know where he was, this isn't possible. But before I have the chance to ask more backup questions we're there and I'm on the look out,"Do you see. . . never mind,"

"Do I see who?"

"No one come on let's get to class," I huff and turn my head for a second before he's drifting into another direction, something I wasn't used to, if you weren't already up to date. Jimin doesn't leave my side, no matter what (normally. this was the first time something like this had happened). So what was so interesting now that made him wander?

"Jimin wait!" Maybe he was just trying to give me a taste of my own medicine, well watching him run off into a random crowd of people and lose track of him really did the trick. But I wasn't lost for long. A good, no my best friend Taylor was there to pull me in the right direction. I feel myself being jerked along with the crowd and sigh in relief.

"Hey Taylor," I say catching my breath as she turns her head with a smile.

"Hey. Did you eat this morning?"

"You and my mom always worrying about my eating habits,"

"Of course, how could I not after your little... Incident, anyways I saw you with blondy this morning. What was that all about?"

"He didn't take the bus today so he was on his way to school and stopped by my house to say hi and we ended up talking for a little,"

"Was he shy?"

"Of course he was. He's him, but why?"

"The last person he liked he was shy around," i scoff and walk to my class with her as if he could find love in someone like me. We sit down next to each other in the back row and watch the rest of the class spill in. We thankfully filed in before her, but that doesn't stop the turn and quickly paced striding towards us. Here comes the fowl tone... Just wait for it.

"You two need to move," there it is. Being the person I am I retorted back without a second thought.

"You need to put less makeup on," I hear the class laugh around us, everyone was suddenly gazing in our direction.

"You need to put some makeup on,"

"Ew no than I would look like you," I get more laughs and her jaw drops to the nasty school floor (I felt bad for the floor).

"Well at least I know how to lose weight,"

"Yeah, taking off your five pounds of makeup doesn't count," everybody in the class had lost their minds while she glows a different type of red. I'm talking Tinkerbell fury standing right in my way as she slams on the desk.

"Get out of that chair and find another seat now!"

"I can't I have to apply my makeup first," they all laugh as I take out some chap-stick and rub it on my lips with my phone flashlight on to make it look like I was staring into the camera just in time for the teacher to head into the classroom with a ton or two tons of papers.

"Cadence please have a seat,"

"She's in my seat,"

"But that's not possible. There are no assigned seats. Here there is an empty one right here," he points to the seat right up front. Her glare goes from the seat at the front and slowly to me, lazering a hole trough the front and back of my skull. Probably through the wall behind me as well (and a few of the unlucky people behind the wall)

"you'll pay for this y|n and I'll make sure you pay well," I couldn't possibly pay for anything at the moment... I'm broke! But in reality this is just my humor to try and calm myself and the fact that something was about to go down and go down hard. That something being me.
