Sophie Lanzo sighed heavily. The small sitting room was very quiet.
She could see and understand where her brother got his vicious and reckless behavior from – their father, Marcus Lanzo. The same ruthless streak ran in the family, and Sophie knew her father was a force to be reckoned with.
"And what about my father?" Sophie asked General Billy, her voice laced with concern. "He's not going to like this, and I don't want him to do something... drastic."
Billy's expression turned serious. "Your father's a key player in all this, Sophie. We need to be careful around him. But with you back in the picture, we might be able to influence him, make him think twice about his actions."
Sophie nodded, her mind racing with thoughts about her father. "He's so unpredictable, Billy. I don't know what he'll do if he feels like he's losing control."
