General Billy was quiet for some time. He
decided to reveal very little, still uncertain if she would keep the information from her parents. Emotions could be a strong influence, and even if she didn't intend to tell them, her parents might still find out, compromising the plan.
As General Billy continued talking to Sofia, he received an important call and excused himself. "I'll see you later," he said, leaving Sofia standing alone in the backyard.
Sofia's eyes narrowed as she watched him leave, wondering if he had a girlfriend and what he was like outside of work. Lost in thought, she didn't notice Katie Goris approaching.
"He doesn't have a girlfriend right now," Katie said with a smile, "and he's a wonderful person who will treat you well." Sofia's face turned bright red as she realized Katie had read her thoughts.
"What?" Sofia asked, surprised. "Why did you say that?"
Katie's smile grew wider. "The way you are looking at Billy,and your face" she said, her voice playful.
