She was happy to notice that he was worried about her, so as to make him less worried she said "don't worry, there is no pain, its just that my skin color makes it look serious. I have often spilled hot water when I learned cooking. It will heal in no time. I just need a cold compress"
He was trying to convince her to go to the hospital, when her phone started to ring. She rejected the call but it keeps ringing again.
Thus she excused herself and accepted the call after moving some distance from where Adrian was.
Before she could even say hello, Liam started to talk nervously, "Boss where are you? hurry and come immediately to the company."
"Didn't I ask you not to disturb me today? Whatever it is I'll look into it tomorrow" she warned him and was about to hung up but Liam interrupted her and said "Boss your grandmother is here. Please come fast and save me before she kills me" and hung up the call before she could ask more.
She knew that if she didn't meet her granny, she would definitely kill Liam in her temper. So, she has no other option but to go to the company.
She went to Adrian and explained it to him, "Adrian, I need to leave now. There is something urgent I need to tend to."
"But cant you leave after checking your hand"
"its fine. Don't worry. Give me your phone" she took the phone from his hands and gave a missed call to her mobile.
"that's my number. Call me later. I will treat you later to make it up for the accident" she said and then took a taxi to the company.
After 30 minutes, she arrived at the company and entered her cabin at the 10th floor. There was complete silent in the room.
Her grandmother was sitting in the sofa in the room and Liam was standing opposite her nervously.
She can tell that her grandmother is angry with her. Hope moved behind her grandmother and hugged her from the back and kissed her on the cheeks.
Hope can see the visible changes in her face but her grandmother still didn't say anything and sat there silently.
"Granny, your favorite grand daughter is here and you are not even looking at my face. I'm so sad now" she said and acted as if she was very much hurt.
Even though her grandmother was happy seeing her, she tried very hard to not show it on her face. Then she stood up and hit Hope on her back saying, "you unfilial child. You have been here for more than a week now but you didn't even call me and now you act like you care. You completely forgot me. Don't talk to me now, get lost."
"I'm sorry granny, I was busy with the company affairs. I promise I was going to visit after settling everything" she tried to ease her grandmother's anger.
"don't lie to me. Did you think that I don't know about you going around that actor" she directly confronted her.
Hope turned to Liam with a devilish look and he immediately gestured her to say that it was not him.
"Granny don't tell me you have people following me" she stared seriously at her grandmother.
Her grandmother was now slightly uncomfortable as she knows her grand daughter and temper well. So, immediately tried to butter talk her, "what they are not following you? they are just protecting my pretty grand daughter. do you think I would let you roam the streets alone. What if someone kidnaps you?"
Liam couldn't control his laugh and lets out sound. Immediately both the ladies glared at him. He at once stopped and kept a straight face and tried to explain.
"Don't worry madam. No one can kidnap my boss. She is well trained in martial arts and she is even a champion in last years tournament. Who would dare to mess with her?"
"Hope, I told you not to participate in these kinds of activities. What if you got injured? Don't forget that you are girl, why are acting like a boy?" she started her nagging.
Hope once again glared at Liam for tipping her about the tournament and sat leisurely on the sofa saying, "its all your mistake granny. You were the one who taught me to be strong and bold at all situations. now you want me to act like a girl"
It is indeed true, her grandmother was one who made her like this. She never wanted her grand daughter to be dependent on anyone. Thus she made her learn martial to protect herself but who knows that this silly child would go around beating guys in the name of competition and tournament.
