I woke up to the sound of Mom yelling at me to wake up she yelled, "Dean get your butt out of bed, I'm making some breakfast!"
I said, "I'm coming, I'm coming!"I walk over to the mirror to put some clothes on. I look at myself and I am about 5'9, wavy brown hair and turquoise eyes full of energy. I pull my cotton shirt over my head and walk out my room. We live in a simple cabin in a village near the end of the woods.
Mom says, "Once you finish your food go help your father but don't wander in the dark forest there could be intermediate creatures in there."
I said, "I know, I know." Little did she know that i go in there sometimes to explore, I thought. I waved mom good bye then ran out the door. I passed the village houses and the pond over the bridge then arrived to the edge of the forest.
I look around for dad but only found his work equipment and thought that's odd why would he go into the forest without his equipment. I follow his footsteps into the forest and found out he went deep into the forest. I start running faster and faster until I hear him screaming, there is a pool of blood collecting around his legs and some sort of wolf like creature eating his leg.
He yells, "HELP ME PLEASE ANYONE!" He keeps thrashing around trying to fight it but the wolf like creature kept eating. Dad is trying to reach his knife but the wolf creature chomps down on his hand.
I start thinking of a plan to get rid of the creature. I have my trusty common knife but something tells me I'll have to hit a vital spot to do any damage. I try to sneak up on the wolf from behind and plunge the knife into it but the wolf notices me to quickly and dodges so the knife misses and goes into its shoulder. The wolf howls in pain and is trying to shake me off. I know if i don't do anything I'll die so I try to awaken a force inside me and my knife starts glowing white for just a few seconds but that's all I needed. I use all the strength I had to drive the knife forward to cut into the wolf's head. The wolf died instantly.
I lay there breathing heavily, drained of all my energy but I try to move over to dad to carry him to safety. He is looking pale and is losing blood quickly so I start to move him. I glimpse at the wolfs dead body and there's a dagger sticking out so I pick it up and put it into my pocket.
I carry him out of the forest and when I get out of the forest, i find people looking for us. I collapse from exhaustion and come to in a room next to my dad, I see him laying there he is missing one of his legs from the knee down and the other one is wrapped up tightly. I look at myself and find I only have minor wounds though my hands seems burned.
An older man walks in and looks at me with a confused look on his face. He says, "It says here you killed an primitive silver fanged wolf. But the only injury you sustained were minor cuts and 3rd degree burns on your hands, care to explain how you managed to kill it."
I realize what he just sayed and my mind is going crazy. I killed and primitive silver fanged wolf. Primitive animals can be ten times harder to kill then its regular counterpart, they can be harder, tougher, or more intelligent. I say, "I don't know how i did it, one minute i stabbed the wolf in the shoulder the next my knife started glowing white. Then i could cut into the wolf easier but afterwards I felt so drained."
The older man wrote down some notes about what i said then told me, "If what you say is true then you are an Elemental. I will tell the mage of the village." Then he walked out of the room.
I sat there contemplating what the older man said. I am an Elemental? They are rare and mysterious like people able to bend the will of the world using the different elements to their advantage.The chances of one being born is one in 10,000. If the mage sees im an elemental I could become a mage apprentice our Kingdom of Poseidon. A powerful man who controlled the water and all forms of it became known as Poseidon and he established a Kingdom near the sea. The other kingdoms of Earth, Wind, Fire, Light, and Darkness each are in their elements. Mage Apprentices learn spells to help control their powers.
I think if I become a Mage apprentice i could become someone great and protect my family and live a nicer life. I remember the dagger I found from the wolf so I pull it out and look at it. I figured out its not a regular dagger at all its a fang, not only that but it seems to have a slight tint of blue glowing off it. "Hahaha I got a primitive dagger I wonder what it does." Hehe I wonder how sharp it is, I try to cut some wood off a table and it slices clean through with barely any resistance. I wonder what kind of enchantments it has. A primitive weapon should have one enchantment. I can't wait to test this on something. Eventually I calmed down and fell asleep remembering to not keep the dagger near me just in case.
