"Ohh look at you, Mr. Lucky Duck," said Kevin with a big blue thumbs up.
"Kevin... where did you get a giant foam finger? You know what... never mind. Would you care to enlighten me on what this means?"
"Hmmm, well, I can certainly say you lucked out on this one big guy. [Buyers Choice: Pick Three] essentially means you can pick three power-ups, items, or perks to start with. This doesn't include the 100,000 credits you get to start with. You are much luckier than the last guy... all he got was a coupon for free ramen. Pretty sad if you ask me."
"WHATTTT!!! You're telling me I can pick anything I can think of?" says Lucien with a slightly unsettling smile.
"Mmmm no. You get to pick from this list right here. No Infinity Gauntlet for now... but you can still have that lifetime supply of Chipotle if you really want. I don't know how feasible a bacon gun would be though..."
"Damn Kevin! Way to go and just demolish my hopes and dreams like that. I guess I'll give this list a gander, hopefully, it's got some cool perks." exclaims the excited soul.
Kevin just watched as the Lucien took his time scrolling through the list. After what seemed like hours, he shut the tablet and looked at Kevin with his most serious face yet.
"Kevin... this list is too long."
Kevin facepalms, looking at Lucien with incredulity.
"Can I just tell you what I'm thinking and you let me know if we are good to go?" Lucien shamelessly begs Kevin.
Kevin looks at the kowtowing soul in disbelief. "Fine! Just please get off of the floor, this is really embarrassing."
"Soooo... here's what I'm thinking"
"Just tell me what you want and I'll let you know if they are within the parameters," sighs Kevin with a tired look in his eyes.
"Okay perfect, I feel like a kid in a candy shop!"
"First, I'm thinking of the Jade Violet Immortal Realm but instead of just Spiritual Qi, it will integrate beneficial world energies of places I visit."
"Second, is there any sort of universal energy cultivation system? I want to be able to use the different powers I get from my hops but I don't want to have to use a bunch of different power systems."
"And lastly, the lost magic Arc of Embodiment!"
"Ho Hooo, very ambitious Lucien but I dare say brilliantly thought out" applauded Kevin.
"Hey Kev! You said you'd stop reading my mind!"
"I did nothing of the sort young soul."
"Mou... fine... so, will they work?!" asked the anxious soul.
"Yes, but with a little adjustment. First, the Violet Jade Immortal Realm can be modified to suit your needs, but you will have to forfeit all of the fruits and animals that are given as rewards for breaking through the layers..."
"What! But the heavenly wine! Please Kevin reconsider..!"
"So shameless... FINE, you can have the stuff for the wine... just remember this when its time to share the wealth, ku ku ku."
"Ah haha, so I scratch your back and you scratch mine... hmmm" says Lucien thoughtfully.
"No quid pro quo."
"Okay okay... 'No quid pro quo' wink wink." giggles Lucien.
"Let's get back to business! For your second request, there are a few that would work. The one I recommend is the "divine crystalization method" which was made popular by one of the first made gods. He was called a Heavenly Demon, but I can assure you he started at 100% human!"
"... Well, what is he now?" asks a curious Lucien.
"That's classified..."
"Wait really!? Come onnnn, pretty please?" begs Lucien.
"Jeez, stop begging dammit. How old are you! He's a god now obviously."
"The way it works is by utilizing the three dantians in the human body. The original dantian in the gut will pull in energy, the dantian in the heart will purify the energy to its base form. It will then send the energy to the final dantian located in your mind space, where it will be compressed into a crystal shard. The shard will start as red and as it compresses will begin to change colors, signifying the next stage. Technically it is a virtually limitless technique but right now we only have information until the violet stage. The stages are as follows: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. It's pretty simple but it has the ability to turn you into a powerhouse," Kevin explains to the thoroughly enraptured soul.
"And lastly, you're all set with the Arc of Embodiment. It's pretty straight forward but any skills that have to do with creation are pretty expensive. Aiiii you really lucked out with your spin," says Kevin as he shakes his head.
"Thanks for all the help Kevin, I appreciate it. I know you must be super busy..."
"No problem Lucien," says Kevin with his foam finger again. "Since you were chosen as a contractor, I naturally became your handler! Let's do our best to work together from now on and if you have any questions, make sure to reach out."
"So what now?" asks Lucien.
"Now we get you all geared up and ready to go to your first world."
Kevin then takes our friendly neighborhood white blob, Lucien to get fitted with the standard contractor equipment.
"One standard A Grade Pocket (Tower of God), one small Scroll (RWBY), five Super Potions (Pokemon), five Mana Potions (Final Fantasy), $100,000 (USD Equivalent), one standard usage equipment manual, and one copy of Rules and Regulations: Contractor's Edition."
"Ehhhh... does this mean you'll be watching me the whole time...." Lucien looks at Kevin creeped out and covers his junk.
"Get your mind out of the gutter! And no, video is simply recorded and backed up to your server area. Here at the Akashic Records Office we take privacy very seriously. The pocket has multiple functions such as storage, multifunctional applications, communications, video, language translation, and can open a gate for you to enter headquarters. Your scroll will link to your pocket and will be charmed to not look out of place wherever you are."
"Hmmm very informative. Thanks Kevin!"
"Now, let's get down to brass tacks. The first world you will be sent to is in the Harry Potter universe..."
"Wait! I thought I got o choose my missions..?" asks Lucien.
"Normally you do, but this world is very versatile when it comes to magic, which will be a big boon to you throughout your journey," Kevin states matter-of-factly.
"Ahhh I see, that makes sense at least. Is there any time limit I have to be there for or can I jump ship as soon as I complete my tasks?"
"You can leave whenever you see fit, in-fact you can just decide to stay there if you want. Please take another look at this list and see if there is anything you would like to exchange your credits for before I send you off," Kevin explains.
Lucien looks through the list before something catches his eye. His soul face has a wide and creepy smile.
"Kevin..."
"Don't look at me that way!"
"Haha sorry, sorry. How much would it cost to exchange for Shuri's intelligence and knowledge?" asks Lucien.
Kevin just shakes his head, "you can't afford it."
"Ahhh crap! Any ideas?"
"Shuri's intelligence and knowledge of technology, programming, and use of vibranium will cost you around 85,000 credits. She knows way too much, and you are asking for her cumulative knowledge... let's not be greedy here."
"Hahaha, sold! I can just learn the rest myself anyways," grins Lucien.
"Good, now how would you like to be reincarnated?"
