Chapter 5 - Chapter 4

Felix suddenly remembered, that he had got something else from the starter pack.(That's right, the random skill ticket! Show me that first.)

{Random Skill Ticket: [Rare - ???]

This particular ticket will allow user to obtain any 1 Rare or above tiered skill purely by luck}

(This, is great!! Even if I am unlucky enough to get a rare skill it is still a rare skill worth SP. The important thing is that it is free! Is it possible that I will get more of these in the future?}

{The random skill tickets for the first 2 tiers are rather common. The rarity will increase drastically after the Rare tier. This is a special ticket which is the only one to offer options from various tiers. The tickets are usually tier specific. Of course the 'random' part is not that random. It will be a skill that is safe to use at your current strength.}

(That's.. more detailed than I thought it would be.)

{Use ticket?}

(Yes.)

{.......}

{Congratulations. You have got [???] tier skill 'Adaptive Physiology'.}

{Adaptive Physiology: [???] tier [??? SP]

Your body can adapt to most environments.

Will rewrite your genetic code to make changes permenant.}

{Skills: Pressure Resistance, Enhance digestive system, Body health, Anaerobic Respiration are absorbed by Adaptive Physiology}

Felix's jaw dropped.

(......The skills with similar natures get fused with one another?)

{Yes because they are from the same 'source'}

(So I just wasted my skill points earlier?!)

{Yes}

(.......)

(Well forget it. I actually profited by gaining this skill. I won't need to use SP to buy skills in the resistance category. And now I don't need to worry about the destination at all.)

{But you should be worried though? If you reach a hostile environment you would still need nutrients to facilitate such growth. You might as well burn yourself out before you adapt}

(.....How much time until I reach?)

{30 minutes}

{ Shit!!! Open the resourse shop! There must be a solution there)

The screen changed to show something which suspiciously resembled a online shop. As he searched through the options he saw many amazing stuff like [Suit AK56], [Dimentional home], and [Cryogenic capsule] but they were not something he could afford with a measly 100RP.

After searching he suddenly got an idea.(System, can you show me resourses according to my situation in my price range?)

With a soft click the screen quickly blurred for a second and showed only one option.

●Basic S-type barrier: [80 RP]

A barrier meant for survival purposes. It can provide a comfortable environment inside irrespective of outside outside environmental conditions.

Needs a solid surface to be set up.

Works for upto 30 days after which it needs to be recharged.

(This is it! Buy it.)

{Remaining resourse points: 20}

(How much time is left?)

{10 minutes}

(Whew.. finally made it on time.)

Felix relaxed into a comfortable silence. As he did he started to observe his surroundings more closely. His surroundings, which at first glance seemed only dark were actually shining dimly with a variety of colors.

As he watched closely, the colors seemed to shift and twist to form various shapes and images: his home, having lunch at college, visiting his grandparents on holidays, studying hard for for exams, and most importantly all the faces of the people he knew: His parents, whose hair had started having a few white strands, his sister in middle school, his grandparents, college friends.

(I am not going to meet them again eh..... Sis must be worried sick. She had told me not to go to college today due to the typhoon. Mom...well she is the strong one. I hope she doesn't overwork herself supporting both of them. Dad...he is still overseas. What will they think when I just dissapear on then like this?)

All these thoughts which had been suppressed, seemed to gush out as he relaxed. He finally understood. He was being teleported to another world. And he might not survive to return home. The actions of the System had made it pretty clear that it was a third party and wasn't going to interfere too much in case fatal situations occurred.

He was on his own.
