Chapter 18 - watching one punch man chapter 17 by fanfiction

We return to the theater to find the beloved audience members watching the last episode of the Ovas. In the last episode Metal Knight's drone was deactivated and a few powerful individuals lost their abilities. The mysterious host has also disappeared, though the individuals within the theater have little to worry about as they continue to watch the show.

Loud panting from an unknown runner could be heard as the camera pans toward an alleyway. The runner is revealed to be a humanoid amphibian monster who was stealing a bunch of items.

The thief ends up running into a dead end before cursing to himself. "Damn it!"

"Did you think you could escape?" A familiar voice calls out in questioning as the monster turns around to confront their chaser.

"Oh, Master this is…" Genos mutters while looking over to Saitama who just nods.

"Yep. I'm pretty sure it's that story I told you. At least I think so." The unsure hero responds while squinting at the screen and holding a thinking pose.

"So I'm guessing we'll be seeing a younger-you then?" Mumen Rider questions while wearing a curious expression.

Saitama shrugs in reply to the biking hero. "Kinda. It was only a couple of years ago so not that much younger."

"What oh so amazing story could we be graced with this time." Tatsumaki sarcastically mumbles while rolling her eyes.

"Was it perhaps one of your earlier battles?" Fubuki questions in interest while attempting to analyze the screen's location.

"Or perhaps a showcasing of Saitama-kun's workout routine?" Bang playfully chuckles out.

"Eh nothing too serious. If I'm right it's just the story of how I got my hero costume." Saitama responds while sighing and reminiscing about the memory.

"AH! So we get to finally see who made that indestructible suit!" Child Emperor shouts out in glee at the prospect of learning how the overpowered hero's suit kept surviving his battles.

"Didn't Boros damage it in their final battle?" Zombie Man questions the child genius as Metal Bat just yawns, not really interested in the suit's origins. He just wanted to see himself on the big screen.

"So persistent! Just who the hell are you?" The monster calls out in annoyance at the figure standing on top of a building.

"Me? I'm just a guy who's a hero for fun." Saitama proceeds to jump off the building but accidentally snags his pants on a nearby pole, causing it to rip as he lands.

Saitama just facepalms as Tatsumaki begins her laughing streak again. "PFHH HAHA! You idiot!" The Tornado of Terror wipes a nonexistent tear from her eye as her sister just sighs while holding a hand to her head.

"Saitama-kun…" Bang shakes his head in a faux display of disappointment while hiding an amused grin.

"Can't believe this is the same guy." Atomic Samurai mutters while sweat dropping.

"Ah so that's what it looked like." Genos muttered silently as Mumen Rider consoled the bald hero.

"This is him in his early state? How did he leap to such great strength!?" Meanwhile, Sonic was just running through a multitude of questions as he grew irritated at the bald hero.

"Haha! And do you still think you look like a hero?"

"You… You're going to pay me for them." Saitama mutters while staring at the villain.

"Color me surprised." Tatsumaki snickers while eye rolling at the onscreen Saitama's dejected display.

"You'd think the guy would watch out for stray objects when falling…" Zombie Man deadpans while watching the altercation carry out before them.

The scene switches to a man being run down by a group of thugs for his money.

"Do you have all of my money yet?"

"Not yet…" The old man looks downward to avoid the gangster's gaze.

A few of the heroes look onward in distaste at the sight of the run down. While they didn't care much for the menial threats it didn't mean they enjoyed the occurrence of such crime.

"What will you do? The due date's tomorrow. You do know what will happen tomorrow if you don't have my money ready, right?"

The scene switches back to the alley way with the monster thief on the floor with puked up stolen DVDs.

"Ew it ate DVDs? I thought it was just hiding them in its shirt or something." Child Emperor mutters in distaste childishly as Zombie Man just chuckles.

"Damn it… I did it again." Saitama takes a few breaths while looking down at his opponent before leaving the villain on the floor to be collected by the police.

"Why didn't he call the police…" Mumen Rider sweat drops at watching his friend simply walk away from the downed monster.

"He really has just been leaving them after winning…" Tatsumaki silently wondered as she watched the on screen Saitama exit the narrow backstreet. While she hadn't thought the baldy would care to lie about it she still found herself not believing that he'd simply leave his wins to be found by others. Though he did, at the time, not even know of the Hero Association so it was fair to assume it was just his ignorance.

ROAD TO HERO

"Ho an intriguing title. I assumed the 1st episode's backstory was the only reason Saitama strove for hero work." Tank Top Master questioned aloud.

"Perhaps this episode is just another important step?" Darkshine responded back, though not too sure of his own assumption.

"Could you give me just a little bit more time?" The old man questions as the gangster just stares at him.

Suddenly, the door opens and reveals Saitama wearing a surprised expression. "Are you busy?"

The old man smiles at the young hero, beckoning him forward. "Come on in, we're done talking."

"Tch. Gangs are such a freaking annoyance." Metal Bat scoffs as Child Emperor, Zombie Man, and the two monsters behind them side-eye him.

"Aren't you literally a punk? Or what do you humans call them?" Mosquito Girl questions in pure curiosity though it flies right over the hero's head.

"Hah? I ain't no punk this is just my style! Lay off bug lady!" Metal Bat responds with an irritated tone as Mosquito Girl just backs up with her hands in the air.

"No, he's definitely a punk." Zombie Man responds back non-chalantly, further igniting Metal Bat's anger.

"Ah yep here we go. A potty mouth in school and a straight D student who causes trouble all the time. Seems like a punk to me?" Child Emperor points at his computer screen as Metal Bat just slumps and grumbles due to being unable to retort.

"How did you not realize he was being run down?" Meanwhile, Tatsumaki questioned the bald hero in her usual indignant tone as he just sighed.

"I did notice. Just watch the rest of the episode." Saitama mutters back while Genos nods vehemently, remembering his Sensei's heroic endeavors.

Tatsumaki just responds with a huff as Fubuki becomes more curious as to what really happens in this retelling of the past.

"See ya, old man. Tomorrow I'll come for what's mine." The gangster rudely messes with the store owner's toupee before leaving.

"Sorry about that, old man." Saitama mumbles as the aging man sits down to repair his track suit.

The old store owner sighs before smirking at the young hero. "Don't worry about it. You probably don't have any money either."

The aspiring hero sweat drops in slight embarrassment. "Sorta…"

"Lately, there haven't been many clients… If I don't do anything my arms are going to get flabby." The old man lifts the track suit to inspect it before chuckling. "So, what did you do this time? Could you have ran into someone strong?"

"Yeah, he was a little bit stronger. He almost beat me." Saitama mutters while holding a thinking pose.

"Huh? I thought you beat up the monster?" Tareo questioned in a confused tone.

"Yeah, but I didn't do it in one punch. It was more of a scuffle, but I handled it." Saitama explains before grinning back in an attempt to appear heroic prompting Garou to laugh out loud.

"I see. But I can't have this fixed up within today. So, I'll have to keep it for a bit." The old man informs Saitama as the hero just nods. "Sure, thanks."

"Oh! I almost forgot. I have something to show you. Since, you're always ripping that suit. So, I wanted to make a special one from special material. Heroes have to transform, you know?" The old man explains while pulling out a notebook as Saitama slowly gets intrigued.

Everyone else in the theater, minus a few, also begins to grow curious at the old man's secrets.

Saitama just sighs while watching the screen, already predicting the responses from his new cohorts.

The young hero places a fist down onto his palm in a eureka moment. "Oh! A superhero suit?"

"Exactly, a special suit for a super hero." The old man gleefully hands the young Saitama his notebook as the hero opens it for inspection.

The page opens to a poorly drawn samurai outfit being worn by a goofy looking character. Saitama just stares at the artwork in pure shock and horror. "Shit! It's horrible."

Laughter rises from the audience members at Saitama's poorly hidden disappointment.

"I did not realize the design looked that outrageous Master…" Genos muttered while staring at the abhorrent design and imagining his teacher wearing the suit before shivering slightly.

"I-I don't think I've ever laughed this much in a single d-day!" Tatsumaki struggles to breathe once more as she cannot seem to stop laughing while Fubuki just watches in embarrassment.

"It's not that funny." Saitama mumbles while rolling his eyes.

"Honestly I don't think I can imagine you wearing anything but yellow, red, and white Saitama." Mumen Rider chuckles, prompting the bald hero to sigh.

"Yeah it wasn't my first idea… but it grew on me." Saitama smiles a bit as he reminisces over his countless adventures.

"The idea came from the samurai tradition…" The old man proudly explains while smirking.

"He has a name for it too?!"

"How is it?"

"How should I put it?... I see that he included his own tastes…"

After taking a few seconds to gather a response Saitama just walks over. "No, thanks for the offer though."

"Don't worry about the money. This is like a dream for me." The old shop keeper explains as Saitama just stops in place.

"Although… As funny as it is, we still don't know how he made the suit so strong." Child Emperor wonders aloud as he formulates theories as to how the man did it.

"Is it that big of a deal? It's just a suit." Metal Bat questions while feeling a bit bored from the lack of onscreen action.

"On the contrary Metal Bat. If the material he used is indeed the material that allows for Saitama's suit to endure his battles then we could harness its structure and perhaps reproduce it at a massive scale." Dr. Genus explains as Metal Bat just yawns.

"Oi you better not be thinking of anything Genus." Zombie Man side-eyes the doctor who just shakes his head.

"I do not plan anything malicious. I simply wish to learn how the material works." Dr. Genus responds promptly, though it does little to appease the undead hero.

"Crap, this is serious. What should I do?" Saitama wears a look of pure awkwardness.

"Could it be that... you already asked a different tailor?" The old man looks down at his lap dejectedly.

"Hmm? Eh, etto…"

"Then it can't be helped…" THe man seems to comedically die on the spot as Saitama reaches out a hand. "No, it's not that! It's just, I thought I would decide on that, after I actually became a real hero."

"He's always supported me... Somehow I can't refuse him." Saitama muses to himself while scratching the back of his head.

"Actually, do you know why I keep wearing the same stuff always? It's because I don't want to forget about the important things. I want to wear that suit, so that I remember where I came from." Saitama explains as the old man listens earnestly.

"I see, so that's how it is." The old man mutters in understanding.

"Alright, now the next! On top of that, it's too early to call me Montsuki Hakama."

"I see…"

"When I'm a professional hero, I'll ask you for it myself." Saitama hands back the notebook while giving a thankful expression to the shop keeper.

"Wait, is this the same guy who made your suit or have we not seen the infamous tailor yet?" Tatsumaki questions with interest as Saitama turns back to her.

"Yeah, it's him. You'll see how he got to the current design later I think. Assuming this whole episode is about the entire thing." The bald hero responds back while holding a thinking pose.

"It would be odd for the show not to relive the entire story Master. It was a harrowing battle." Genos mutters with a raised fist as Saitama just sweat drops. "Uh. I dunno about harrowing, Genos…"

"You're right... Right now, you only do this for a hobby." The old man muses while chuckling to himself.

"Anyway, I'll come back tomorrow. See you."

"Ah, one more thing! I know you do this for a hobby, but maybe drop the role of hero for a little. Lately things around here haven't been peaceful at all." The old man explains as the camera pans around the shopping district, revealing many empty and closed stores.

"Really?" Saitama takes on a slightly more serious expression.

"Just look at those stores. There are many shops , but inside there's nothing . This place isn't enough to live in."

"Ah, it seems the gangster groups have taken over the district back in the day." Bang muses as he strokes his mustache.

"It is unfortunate that there is little done to prevent such occurrences." Bomb mutters while shaking his head in disappointment.

"Not enough heroes and not enough people who care." Atomic Samurai scoffs while recollecting his thoughts.

The scene changes to a villainous hide out with two people discussing something.

"He told me he still doesn't have the money."

"I see… In that case, that store will be mine."

"But boss, why do you want that store? Even if you had it, you wouldn't get any customers."

The bossman bends down in his chair and gazes at his open palms. "I know that quite well, but my goal isn't to get money. The impulse… There's a force within me that tells me to destroy everything."

"That impulse must be how monsters are made." Stitch theorizes to his fellow associates, a few of whom just nod.

"There must be more to it though. It can't just be a desire to destroy things, if so then humanity would've been doomed a while ago." The bearded worker retorts.

"I mean just look at Ms. Tornado." A random associate whispers.

"That is a good point… Not that I believe Ms. Tornado to be one to actively seek to destroy, however, her powers are far from natural. If she didn't remain human it wouldn't be far-fetched that others would label her a monster." Stitch mutters while holding a thinking pose.

"Boss, I got the papers for the candy shop."

"Nice, good work. I feel good. It's close… Just a little more…"

The scene changes to Saitama walking home alone as the sun sets in the background.

"What the old man said was true. Lots of stores have closed recently. And now that I think about it, the crimes in this area are really frequent." The screen flashes by showing different criminals along with the one Saitama recently defeated. "There was one in the street, in a house, and that store earlier today. In just one week I captured three delinquents… Is this zone really no longer safe?" Saitama walks up to a different complex than usual, revealing a different place of rest for the young hero.

"This is the rhinoceros beetle."

"Wow, it's already completely a beetle, professor!"

"I told you it would transform as soon as it was born. Ah, it's like that!"

Saitama could be seen lounging around while watching his small T.V. "Oh, is that so? I didn't know about that."

"Who is it at this hour? What a bother…" Saitama opens his door to reveal a small old lady.

"Do you have the rent? You haven't paid rent in three months, you know that?" The old lady questions while glaring at the young hero.

"Uh... you see the thing is, I don't have the money and I'm busy…" Saitama mumbles while glancing around to avoid eye contact.

"Ah yes. The mighty hero Caped Baldy, afraid of his old land lady." Tatsumaki dramatically exclaims while grinning at the mentioned bald hero.

"She was creepy, give me a break. Besides, I wasn't that strong when I lived at the complex." Saitama responds while rolling his eyes.

"Whatever you say baldy." Tatsumaki snickers as Genos just side-eyes the psychic while Fubuki and Mumen Rider sweat drop at the banter.

"Ha! I don't know if you're a hero or what, but I'm sure there's a way you can make money with that.

"Don't say that."

"If you don't pay, I'll kick you out. Know that." The old woman threateningly informs the young hero.

The door slowly shuts as Saitama just sighs. "Shit…"

The camera switches to the next day as the old store keeper could be heard laughing. "You're strong, why don't you work?"

"I know that too, but…" Saitama mumbles.

The old man smiles at the young hero while taking out his fixed up hero wear. "Don't beat yourself up. After all, it's cheap, right? Here. It's done."

"Oh, thanks!" Saitama responds while picking up his newly sewn tracksuit and staring at it.

"Although, in that suit you look more like a tramp than a superhero. Be more careful, soon I'm not going to be able to fix it for you."

Some knocking could be heard as the two turned toward the door to find yesterday's gangster back for his payment, "Today's the day, old man.

The scene swaps to the gangster holding onto what looks to be the deed to the old man's store. "Alright, I'll take this as payment. See ya!"

Saitama turns to the store keeper with a neutral expression. "Who was that guy?"

A few facepalms are heard as Saitama grows slightly embarrassed. It appears he was slow on the uptake at times.

"The store will have to close. They're taking everything soon. They're from the Niya Niya Loans group, for sometime they've been taking money to insure the shop. I can't pay the fees and interest anymore." The old man mutters in a somber tone as Saitama stares at the man in shock.

"So... you were cheated?"

"Either way, the shop closes today."

"Why don't you ask the police for help?" Saitama questions with a slightly concerned expression.

"Probably incapable or unwilling." Tatsumaki mutters, knowing too well that thugs like these could just be arrested and finished. They were an interconnecting network usually. Like weeds in a field of crops. Meanwhile Fubuki just sighs at her sister's evil eye.

"I can't do that. They live in that apartment, where even the police can't interfere. Surely you've heard of it."

"I haven't, what is it?"

The old man gives him a look of surprise. "Huh? You really don't know? Go straight ahead, leave the main street and you'll see a sign that says Stop, Danger. When you get to that street and walk a bit you'll see a supermarket. Get it?"

"Yeah." Saitama nods as the old man explains.

The scene switches to Saitama following the mini map the old man had given him as he walks forward.

"Hoh. Heading straight for the group, are we Saitama-kun?" Bang chuckles as the onscreen Saitama flatly ignores the old man's warnings.

"Uhhh… Actually I- you know what you'll see." Saitama mutters while scratching the back of his head. At his lackluster response the heroes near him simply give him a peculiar look.

"The place is on the narrow street alongside that supermarket. No matter what happens, don't go near that apartment. That apartment is the base of those thugs, the house of crime…"

Saitama steps in front of the buildings as the camera pans out to reveal his own home. "Just as I thought, this is the place where I live. Now I see why the rent is so low."

"HUH!? IT'S YOUR DAMN HOUSE?" Metal Bat shouts out randomly in surprise as his seatmates cover their ears in minor annoyance.

"At this point I kinda expect something like this." Zombie Man chuckles while shaking his head.

"I guess he's as bright as he looks." Mosquito Girl whispers to her monster compatriot who just grunts.

"How did you never notice illegal things happening around you, you dunce?" Tatsumaki questions incredulously as the bald hero just sighs.

"I wonder if that old lady is being held against her will." Fubuki mutters though her thoughts prompt a chuckle from Saitama which draws her confusion.

Saitama quickly returns to his neutral expression before addressing the questions. "Uh yeah. I just never saw any of the bad guys while I was staying there and I guess I just never ran into them." The bald hero shrugs non-chalantly while Genos just nods along.

Mumen Rider just smiles at the simplicity of Saitama though he silently wonders how he survived all these years.

"You do know what will happen , if you don't give it back." A man walking by, presumably a criminal, could be heard yelling into his phone.

"Hey! Do you know where the Niya Niya Loan is located?" Saitama calls out to the man who just glares at him.

"Huh, need a loan?"

"No, it's not for that. I have business with them."

The man scowls while turning away. "Then look for it yourself. I'm busy right now, asshole!"

The camera proceeds to zoom in as Saitama walks forward with a semi serious face.

"I wonder if this is the room…" Saitama wonders to himself as he knocks.

The old lady from before opens the door, much to Saitama's horror. "Who is it? Did you come to pay the rent?" The old lady looks around in confusion, not finding whoever had knocked.

It is revealed that Saitama had someone stuck himself to the roof. "That was close… I have no idea who lives in these rooms!"

"Wow you're still pretty fast huh?" Tatsumaki snickers while watching the panicked expression onscreen Saitama makes, prompting an eye roll from the bald hero.

"Master was capable of such speeds even that long ago? Intriguing." Genos notes to himself while glancing at his Master.

"Such fast reflexes for such a foolish need." Bang chuckles to himself quietly while Atomic Samurai just side-eyes him in confusion.

The camera switches to Saitama questioning another door's occupants.

"Niya Niya Loan, you said?"

"Yeah, I heard they operate out of these apartments." Saitama responds.

"Well, not out of this room." The door promptly closes as Saitama begins to walk off.

Suddenly the door reopens as a terrible sight is revealed to all as the map steps out in oddly sexual attire. "Hey, you! Be careful which room you visit, in this apartment not everyone is as nice as me."

"GROSS! I THINK I JUST THREW UP!" Child Emperor screams out in agony as he quickly covers his eyes.

"I think that actually is worse than Puri." Zombie Man grunts in disgust as he too averts his gaze.

"Lord have mercy." Metal Bat hits the shinji pose.

"You humans are vile." Mosquito Girl comments while covering her mouth as Armored Gorilla covers his own eyes.

"I really hate that I remember that so vividly." Saitama mutters dejectedly while having his hands already covering his eyes.

"Master…" Genos just remains stone faced as a shadow covers his eyes.

"Oi baldy, maybe warn us next time, egghead!" Tatsumaki growls out in irritation at having her eyes be scorned in such a way. Meanwhile Fubuki was attempting to not heave her lunch out.

"I'm sorry you had to go through such a traumatic event." Mumen Rider consoles the bald hero, though he himself would prefer someone to walk him through what he just witnessed.

"I could have lived without ever seeing that." Sekingar mumbles while looking dead inside as the associates all collectively attempt to recollect themselves.

"Jeez." Blast sighs while shaking his head.

Saitama deadpans while wearing a neutral expression. "Oh, I see… It's probably better if I check the other side."

Saitama knocks on another door and waits before receiving no response. "No one's home."

Just as Saitama steps away the door opens to reveal two tenants. "Wait. Who are you?"

Saitama turns back around. "I'm a tenant here."

"Tenant? Of this apartment?"

"Yeah. I live on the other side, I'm a hero as a hobby." Saitama explains.

"Is that so? Good luck with that." The two turn to go back in as the door closes when suddenly, it reopens forcefully as the tenant points an accusing finger at the hero.

"Wait, did you say hero? It can't be, brother! I think he realized that we're counterfeiting!"

"Let me guess, you didn't know they were counterfeiting." Tatsumaki monotonously questions the bald hero who just nods, prompting a tired sigh from the short esper.

"It's funny how villains always spew out their evil plans with no prompting." Child Emperor giggles while watching the two idiots flail about.

"I guess it's a positive to their monologues." Zombie Man responds while chuckling.

"I'd rather bash heads. Way easier than dealing with words." Metal Bat grunts while wishing to be on the battlefield while Zombie Man and Child Emperor just side-eye him. Metal Bat suddenly seems to perk up in realization of something, breaking through his boredom. "Oh yeah… Zenko's comin here soon. I bet she'll be excited to see all the heroes." Metal Bat momentarily glances at the two monsters and evil doctor sitting behind him before sighing. "I'm sure it'll be fine. They seem good enough for now. Don't know about that Garou guy though. Seems friendly with that Tareo kid."

Saitama begins walking away while wearing a bored look when the man seals his fate. "I see… Bastard, you want to beat us for the reward!"

The young hero stops in his tracks, his eyes widening. "Reward?"

"Oh of course that's what catches your attention you baldy." Tatsumaki smirks while a slightly ashamed Saitama just grumbles.

The scene flashbacks to yesterday, as the old woman gives him some advice. "I don't know if you're a hero or what, but I'm sure there's a way you can make money with that."

Saitama's eyes flash with joy as he turns back around while wearing a menacing expression. "I see. So there's a reward!"

"No doubt about it, I can see it in his face that he wants to catch us."

"What could've given that away ha!" Metal Bat grins while laughing at the two criminals' expressions.

"Well when you need it that bad I guess it's enough motivation." Child Emperor shrugs.

"I still don't understand why he doesn't just take what he wants, he is beyond powerful. It's not like anyone could stop him." Mosquito Girl mutters in slight confusion and also a bit of envy.

"I guess that's what makes him a hero and you a villainous bug lady." Metal Bat responds with a bit of fire as the aforementioned monster just sneers at the hero.

"Former villain I'll have you know! I've been… reformed." Mosquito Girl replies though lacking a bit of bite at her last remark as she seems to recall a certain memory of near death.

"By the way, I've been meaning to ask. Are you two really just gonna be normal and 'non-villainous' from now on? I know Dr. Genus already said he's done, but like, aren't you guys specifically made to be evil?" Child Emperor questions with a semi-serious tone while turning to look at the monsters.

The two creations seem ready to respond when suddenly interrupted by the silent Dr. Genus who had been listening to the conversation. "While you may be very well in your right to be suspicious of them I would like to clarify I never programmed them to be 'villainous' as you say. They simply served a purpose and due to that purpose no longer existing they are now free to do as they please. I have no inherent control over either of them anymore."

At this the 3 hero's eyes widen to various degrees while Armored Gorilla scratches his cheek and Mosquito Girl just turns her gaze to the wall beside them.

"Wait so you're telling me you just gave them their freedom?" Zombie Man questions with a great amount of disbelief as the doctor simply nods.

"Huh. So you two just follow him now? Didn't he like, experiment on you and do stuff to you? Or is he not a mad scientist?" Metal Bat questions with a pointed finger in their direction, though his last remark slightly annoys Dr. Genus.

After a brief moment the two monsters turn to look to their creator who just nods at them with a neutral expression.

"We were perfected before we gained consciousness so any experimentation was done before we awoke. Though Carnage Kabuto is a different story, after our awakening the only 'experimentation' done to us were essentially health check ups." Armored Gorilla replied to the trio of heroes prompting even more surprise.

"Yeah, the doctor didn't really need to use his controller thingy on us since we just followed his orders. Well except Carnage since he was too much of a hazard." The monster then takes a second to realize something. "Actually now that I think about it I think Kabuto did more damage to us during the battle tests than the doctor ever did." Mosquito Girl responds as Armored Gorilla nods in agreement.

"You still haven't answered the original question. Are you guys done with being villains?" Child Emperor stared directly at the two monsters as he asked his question.

The two look at each other briefly before nodding then Armored Gorilla answers first. "We will follow the doctor and do whatever he requires us to do."

"Yeah we'll be whatever he needs us to be. In this case I guess Takoyaki shop workers." Mosquito Girl sighs out while shrugging.

"So it's all down to the big bad." Metal Bat grins while gripping his bat a little tighter though he doesn't actually intend to do anything. Not yet at least.

Dr. Genus raises his hands in a gesture of surrender. "As I said before and as I'm sure you've seen. I truly have no intentions of continuing down the path I was once set on. I will not be going back. Ever."

A moment of awkward silence is reached when suddenly Zombie Man speaks up. "I believe him." Metal Bat and Child Emperor turn in shock to their seatmate. Even Dr. Genus' eyes widen a bit as Zombie Man looks up to gaze at the doctor.

"When you've known the doctor as long as I have you know how to read him. That thing in his eyes is gone. So I believe you Genus." Zombie Man's gaze then harshens toward the doctor. "But the moment you step a foot over that line again I'll be the one to put a bullet through your head." The undead hero mutters darkly before turning his now murderous gaze to his surviving creations. "You two as well. I don't care how many lives it'll take. Yours or mine."

The creations and creator nod back though a little hesitantly at Zombie Man's hostile display. With that, the group begins to settle as Zombie Man turns back to the screen as if nothing had ever happened.

"So you really did have connections to Dr. Genus." Child Emperor mumbles quietly though cautiously as Zombie Man smirks a bit before looking down at the child genius. "What? Curious?" The undead hero grins teasingly as Child Emperor just stutters. "W-what no! It's your business not mine. I'm not some dumb kid."

The punk hero sitting next to them suddenly grins mischievously. "I am! So what exactly happened was he, your dad or something?" Metal Bat bluntly asks as a strangled cough is heard from Dr. Genus. Meanwhile Zombie Man turns his gaze to the punk teen, causing Metal Bat to slightly regret his probably insensitive question.

Zombie Man promptly smacks Metal Bat in the head before sighing. "That monster is not my father. He created me just like those two." The undead hero responds while pointing behind him.

The group minus Genus gape at the news though none choose to comment on it in fear of overextending on a sensitive topic.

"Fine… Try it, if you can!" The two jump up into the air to double team Saitama as he just stares at them blankly.

The scene switches to him carrying the two up toward his room, their faces badly bruised as their legs thunk against the metal stairs.

"Wow, that must've hurt." Tareo mutters while rubbing the back of his neck at the imaginary pain, gaining an eyeroll from Garou.

The guy from before walks onto the sight of Saitama exiting after defeating two punks. "Huh? That guy…"

Saitama proceeds to knock on another door when the person who opens it beckons him in. He then proceeds to walk back out with the guy out cold and being dragged by his shirt.

"Pfh. I swear whatever cosmic entity that framed these shots has got to be doing it for the comedy." Tatsumaki snickers childishly while earning a disappointed gaze from her younger sister.

"I didn't mean to rough up those guys that bad I swear. I just used my normal strength and they went down hard." Saitama winces as he watches himself drag the bodies against the floor carelessly.

"Master uses appropriate levels of dissuasion for required tasks." Genos mutters while writing in his notebook, causing Saitama to whip his head back to his disciple and attempt to stop him fruitlessly much to Mumen Rider's poorly hidden amusement.

"What? That guy… is kinda dangerous. I've gotta warn the boss!"

The bossman's phone rings as he lazily picks it up. "Oh, it's you. Who is that guy? Police?"

"No, but he beat up a bunch of our guys!"

The boss' eyes widened slightly. "What did you say?"

The boss then puts the phone down as footsteps could be heard arriving. "I think he's arrived."

Saitama obliviously walks in. "Is it you? The dangerous guy that we're looking for…"

Saitama just stares at the man with a blank face. "You... You're dressed really weird. Are you really the boss of all these guys? And what do you mean by that?"

"Hoh. It seems Saitama-kun has taken to bantering with the enemy. You seem to have been quite talkative back then, Saitama-kun." Bang chuckles while smiling at the bald hero who just sweat drops.

"Ah the youth." Bomb blissfully mutters.

"Why am I sitting next to both of them?" Atomic Samurai silently questions himself over his seating decision.

"This is about Gofukuya. I've come to ask that you return the store papers to its owner. There's gonna be trouble if there's nobody to fix my clothes." Saitama explains in a simple manner while scratching the back of his head.

The man grows irritated with the hero standing before him as he lashes out verbally. "Don't fuck with me! Do you really think it'll be that easy? I see that you're pretty confident in your strength. But do you think that'll solve everything?"

"There's no need for that sort of thing." Saitama responds while wearing a smile as the boss' eyes narrow.

"Oh, does Saitama have a secret move?" Tank Top Master questions aloud curiously.

"Perhaps he needed to use a weapon of some sort to strengthen himself since he was weaker." Puri Puri Prisoner responds, equally as intrigued.

"I feel like Saitama wouldn't carry a weapon. He doesn't seem the type to do so." Darkshine adds his own thoughts while holding a thinking pose.

"Why do I get the feeling it's going to be something absolutely moronic." Sonic silently mutters to himself though Flashy hears it and quietly agrees.

"What do you mean by that?" The villain questions in confusion.

Queue a flashback to the old shopkeeper explaining things to the old man.

"I see, I pretty much get it. I'll go and solve this misunderstanding."

The old man looks at Saitama with a surprised and worried expression. "Hey, did you hear what I said?"

Saitama nods with a smile. "Yeah. That's why I said I'll bring back your papers. And if you close the shop, then who will fix my clothes?"

"Master is so heroic!" Genos cries out while giving Saitama stage 4 embarrassment.

"He seems to think people are unaware enough to see his kindness masked as a favor for himself. It's a wonder such incredible power was given to such a man." Bang thinks to himself while smiling, glad that the universe bestowed such a heroic individual with equally heroic power. Though at the back of his mind Garou's prophecy still maintains its root and causes the old martial artist to sigh out.

"Hey, that's not why I brought it up." The old man sighs.

"It's fine, I know what I'm doing."

The flashback ends as Saitama holds out a card with legal information on it. "Look at this. Listen. If we're talking about the percentage dictated by the law, Gufukuya's debt is already canceled. When it surpasses a certain percentage, that's called overpaying. Besides, there's no basis in the law that says you can just take his store." As Saitama obliviously explains, the criminal boss just continues to grow infuriated.

"So please, give back the papers." Saitama holds a hand out in demand.

Extremely loud facepalming echoes through the theater for no one is exempt from the second hand embarrassment so great that the laughter is almost nonexistent. Meanwhile Saitama simply slumps in his chair and avoids eye contact by gazing at the ceiling.

"I KNEW IT!" Sonic screams out while wearing a large red imprint on his face.

The bossman stands up from his chair with a rage filled expression. "You beat up all my men to tell me this shit?"

"Huh? Oh, no, that was just an accident." Saitama responds while scratching the side of his cheek awkwardly.

"Interesting… not bad… not bad at all!" The bossman oddly begins to transform into some horrific monster.

"Ah there it is." Stitch mutters morbidly. He had assumed the desire for destruction was definitely part of the monsterification, but he had sincerely hoped the man wouldn't transform.

"We knew it would happen, but I wonder if there is a way to prevent it…" Sekingar questions to himself silently as he watches the man continue to glow.

The scene swaps to the old man sewing some clothes. "I have a bad feeling about this… I knew I should have stopped him.

Another flashback plays as the old man warns Saitama. "They're not the kind of people who will understand those kinds of things, you know!"

Saitama simply smiles back at the shop owner. "Don't worry, I'll clear things up quickly."

"And what if something happens to you? I couldn't forgive myself." The old man worriedly questions.

"That man seems to care a lot about you." Mumen Rider comments while smiling.

Saitama responds back with a small smile as he reminisces. "Yeah… He was nice."

"Perhaps Master would appreciate meeting the old man once again. I shall look into it when we return." Genos nods to himself resolutely prompting Saitama to glance at him with a nervous expression.

The young hero just grins at the old man while giving a look of confidence. "Like I said, I'll resolve this quickly. Don't worry. I do it for a hobby, but I'll keep being a hero. See ya!" As Saitama walks away, a vision appears in the old man's eyes, his hero costume blowing in the wind heroically.

"Hm. So that is how the man discovered his idea for your suit?" Fubuki questions the bald hero who just shrugs.

"I guess? I didn't exactly see this through his vision. This is a first for me too." Saitama responds to the now blank Fubuki.

"Ah yes that would make sense. Ahem." The great Blizzard recomposes herself as her older sister just snickers, much to her annoyance.

"Don't get too excited." The old man muses to himself as he hopes for Saitama's safe success.

The camera switches back to the present as Saitama and his foe face off.

"Didn't you realize? People like me, who take evil to a whole new level, we transform into monsters. Finally, the moment has come!" The camera reveals the hideous monster that the man had become as Saitama just stares blankly.

"Ok so what is it with this adventure!? I've had to scar my eyeballs twice now!" Tatsumaki groans as she scratches at her eyes with a great effort. Fubuki was just as disgusted though she didn't feel the need to heave as much.

Luckily for Child Emperor, Zombie Man had foreseen this outcome and had covered both of their eyes. AGH WHAT ABOUT ME YOU BASTARD! I HAD TO SEE THIS CRAP AGAIN!" Metal Bat yells out while turning away from the screen in distaste.

"T-thank you Zombie Man. I think you saved whatever was left of my innocence." Child Emperor mutters in a terrified tone.

"Its actually not as bad as the first time. I think you'll manage." Zombie Man chuckles after having taken a peak out of morbid curiosity. "Still absolutely horrific though."

"I'd rather not." Child Emperor replies in quick haste while putting on some shades, allowing Zombie Man to remove his hand.

"I am so glad you didn't design us that way, doctor. I think I'd rather die than look like that." Mosquito Girl mutters while shivering at what she could have looked like instead of her current form.

"Agreed." Armored Gorilla nods his head as the doctor just sighs.

"Are you speechless from fear? I see. This is the first time I've seen it. I'm a monster, the Fish of Darkness!" The monster cries out gleefully when Saitama suddenly cuts him off.

"No, you're not the Fish of Darkness. You're just a pervert. I learned yesterday."

Queue the laughter from one short esper.

"PFFFHHHHH HAHAHAHAHA! OH MY LORD YOU'RE A RIOT BALDY!" Tatsumaki breaks down into tears while clutching her sides in pain. If one were to look a little farther away she'd appear like a child being tickled.

"Thanks?" Saitama replies with confusion and slight annoyance.

"S-sister i-it is not t-that- am-musing… PFH!" Fubuki, attempting to remain stoic, stutters out her words before failing to hold herself.

"S-Saitama y-you really c-can't be p-pulling these l-lines on us! PFH!" Mumen Rider struggles to string together his sentence as he falls victim to the absolutely serious on screen Saitama's face.

"Jeez you guys are overreacting. Right Genos…" Saitama mutters while turning to his disciple only to find him clutching his face and glaring at the floor while sputtering slightly.

"And I thought I was a kid? His face isn't that funny is it?" Child Emperor questions absentmindedly though sighs when suddenly coming to the realization that the adults seemed to have no humor. Zombie Man held it together a little better than the rest, but his usually stoic nature appeared to be breaking. Metal Bat was just heaving from lack of air and well… At least the monsters seemed fine. It appeared they shared his quality of humor. And of course the mad doctor was just as stone faced as ever.

"My it appears Saitama-kun's face has left them gasping. Odd." Bang mumbles while Bomb just nods in agreement, finding it odd how everyone seemed to find it that funny. Meanwhile, Atomic Samurai was just trying to hide his shaky grin.

ANOTHER flashback of Saitama's televised program about insects. "The caterpillar that comes out of the egg becomes a pupa until adulthood. We call this...

"Did you say... pervert?" The monster mutters in irritation.

"Yes, speaking scientifically." Saitama responds bluntly.

"Me? The Fish of Darkness?"

"But you were already a strange one. In this case, when a pervert gets even more perverted, you just become a perverted pervert, a true pervert."

"A true pervert?"

"Yep, a total pervert."

"Don't fuck with me-gyu! I'm not just any villain!" The monster begins flailing his whip as Saitama tries to block all of his attacks,

Suddenly, Saitama grabs onto the whip, successfully stopping the barrage as the monster grins at him. The weirdo then spits balls of water at Saitama, causing him to let go of the whip. The monster then lashes at him, forcing the young hero to dodge,

"Not bad!"

Saitama grimaces while looking down at his newly fixed track suit now ruined again. "Same to you. I think I've reached my limit."

"Wow, that was really your limit? You weren't kidding, this is depressing." Tatsumaki tiredly mutters out with a bored tone.

"It is still so confusing how you went from this level of strength to how you are now. Your capabilities have increased exponentially." Fubuki comments absentmindedly as she ruminates on her thoughts.

"She does have a point… Master has always said that he was far weaker only a couple of years ago yet the jump in strength is beyond the boundaries of possible. I have never met a single being natural or unnatural that could match his strength…" Genos thinks to himself as he gazes at his Sensei analytically. Though to Saitama it appears Genos was just glaring at him for some odd reason.

"It's not for nothing that the reward for capturing me is the highest." The monster fish seals its fate.

Saitama's eyes gleam as a fire becomes ignited within his eyes, reminiscent of the time he fought against the underground monsters in that one dream of his. "Reward?"

Tatsumaki just stares at the screen with a dead expression, not even bothering to comment anymore, as Saitama just slumps every so slightly.

The screen cuts to black as a loud burst of air is heard.

"At your limit my ass you just needed motivation to get fired up!" Metal Bat yells out with a fiery spirit though Zombie Man quickly sits him back down with a slightly annoyed expression.

The screen switches to the day ending as Saitama knocks on a familiar land lady's door. "What's with that look? Did you come to pay the rent?"

"I don't have money, but I can give you this." Saitama smiles before stepping aside to reveal all the thugs.

"Money laundering, underwear theft, and counterfeiting. They all have bounties, right? I called the police, if we give them all of these together, there'll definitely be enough to pay the rent, right?"

The old lady quivers as Saitama finishes his explanation. "You, you've done something really bad… my main source of income. If I wanted this bullshit, I'd have asked for it!"

The scene quickly swaps to nighttime with Saitama sitting outside in the cold, along with his few belongings. "That old lady really kicked me out…"

Queue deadpans and sympathetic feelings from almost everyone in the room.

"There it is…" Saitama mumbles dejectedly while staring at the floor while Mumen Rider pats him on the back.

"Ah… so that is what you were referring to." Fubuki sympathetically chuckles out while feeling slightly bad.

"Your luck is a complete dumpster fire baldy." Tatsumaki responds with a teasing expression, amused by the onscreen Saitama's suffering.

"Wow that is just… the one time we've seen him claim credit he gets in trouble for it. Maybe this is why he avoids doing his reports…" Child Emperor mutters while staring at the screen with a blank expression.

"Gotta admit I feel bad for the guy." Metal Bat says while snickering at the bald hero's predicaments. While this episode wasn't that exciting it was at least entertaining.

As Saitama dejectedly muses over his current situation, a few footsteps could be heard coming his way.

Saitama looks up to find the old shop keeper. "I'm glad you're well, Saitama-kun."

"At least the old guy found him." Zombie Man chuckles at the simultaneous luck and unluckiness of their resident overpowered bald hero.

The camera pans to the inside of the old man's home as he and Saitama converse. "I see, I'm sorry."

Saitama shakes his head as he sighs. "I didn't like that place anyway. I only liked the rent."

"What will you do now?" The old man questions.

"Well, for starters I have to find a new place to stay."

"Oh wait. Is this also how you found your current apartment?" Mumen Rider questions in curiosity as Saitama responds with a nod.

"Yeah I found out the apartments in City Z were extremely cheap and the rest is history." The bald hero shrugs.

"It is a great home Master. Very small and comfortable." Genos randomly comments, prompting a dead stare from Saitama and a snort from the Tatsumaki.

"It's something you talked about, but... Lots of things have been through that shop, and I had to deal with them all, but now I think it's time to change. Innovate and maybe some other stuff, you know." The old man muses as Saitama listens.

Saitama holds a thinking pose. "I see. That's a good thing."

The old man turns to the young hero with a gentle smile. "Saitama-kun. Thank you for protecting the store."

Saitama simply smiles back as he raises the glass of tea that the old man had poured for him. "Yeah, you can count on me."

"I'm still closing the store." The man's immediate response causes Saitama to sputter out his drink.

"HAH!?" A loud chorus from the noisiest of the audience members.

"Ugh, so irritating." Garous grumbles while covering his ears as Tareo winces.

"Did the man really close his store?" Fubuki questions incredulously as she finds it hard to believe.

"Yeah he'll explain it in about 5 seconds I think." Saitama responds while pointing at the screen.

"I've been thinking, I'm too old for this." The old man completely ignores Saitama's coughing.

The young hero wipes his mouth before sighing. "I see. I guess it can't be helped."

"How you change from surprise to immediate neutrality I will never understand, baldy." Tatsumaki mutters in a somewhat content tone.

"It just happens." Saitama shrugs back in response.

"I know it won't change much, and of course you don't have to wear it if you don't want to, but I want you to have it." The old man hands Saitama his iconic yellow and red suit as some calm music plays in the background.

"This…"

"I finally can feel satisfied with my work. Now that I think about it, I was looking for a reason to retire anyway." The old man chuckles while taking off his toupee and revealing a semi bald head. "This is my final achievement. It's everything I have."

Queue a slow mo of Saitama putting on his hero suit epically as the old man narrates. "I can already see a real hero in you. You inspired me to make this suit."

Saitama stares at himself in the mirror as the music cuts off abruptly. "Won't they think I'm a bit strange?"

"Wow you look so much weirder with hair." Metal Bat laughs out, much to the bald hero's annoyance.

"It's probably because we've only ever seen him in the suit while he was bald." Child Emperor answers back, though he himself found it incredibly odd despite only knowing the bald hero for a bit more than 12 hours.

"It's surprising how much you humans hair affects your looks." Mosquito Girl comments while holding a thinking pose and analyzing the haired hero.

"Imagine if Armored Gorilla was missing all of his fur. That's basically what this is." Zombie Man mutters back in response prompting Mosquito Girl to stifle a laugh. "PFH!" Meanwhile Armored Gorilla just sighs tiredly.

The scene switches to present day Saitama and Genos eating on top of his apartment in City Z.

"And that was how it came to be." Flashbacks of Saitama still wearing his tracksuit over his hero suit as he awkwardly cringes at himself appear on screen. "For a while I was embarrassed to wear it, so I wore my tracksuit over it, but eventually I got used to it. Anyway, it's something important to me."

Genos nods. "I see. So, in order to become a true hero, you need to have something very important to you, like you do."

Saitama just stares at his disciple awkwardly. "What?"

"Master, I think it's about time you change suits. It's okay, I'd like to give it to you as a gift…" Genos basically insists greatly upon the matter as Saitama backs up.

"Wow tin-can, I haven't said this in a while, but you are so dense." Tatsumaki sarcastically snickers out while teasing the irritated cyborg.

"Yeah… I kind of don't understand how you missed the point Genos…" Mumen Rider slowly chuckles in response to the cyborg completely glazing over the point of the story.

"Finally someone gets it." Saitama triumphantly raises a fist at being understood.

"I don't want it! Seriously, were you even listening to that whole story?"

After a few seconds of a black screen a gentle song begins to play as a female vocalist sings sweetly while the credits roll.

"Ahhh. This song is nice." Armored Gorilla murmurs with content.

"I was not expecting the ending song to be so… peaceful?" Child Emperor mumbles in confusion as the pleasing music continues to play.

"Its kind of poetic that the final song to the first 'season' is peaceful when the whole thing was so erratic." Metal Bat comments, causing everyone to stare at him strangely due to his wording. The calm punk suddenly turns to greet the stares with an annoyed glare. "What! I can appreciate good music, you know! My little sister is the best piano player in the world!"

"My what a lovely tune." Bang smiles while humming along.

"It's alright." Atomic Samurai begrudgingly grunts.

THANKS FOR WATCHING!

With the screen remaining on the final words the cast begin to remember their previous predicament. Where was their host?

"Oi! Screen! Give me back my powers now it's been long enough! Jeez!" Tatsumaki yells out half heartedly, somehow feeling like she wouldn't be answered.

"Its odd that we haven't been interrupted or quieted down at all during this viewing. And Metal Knight still hasn't awoken." Drive Knight speaks up having stayed silent during the entirety of this episode's playthrough.

"Woah I forgot you were here." Metal Bat's eyes widen slightly at the sight of the red eyed cyborg.

"I've been watching Metal Knight's drone and it has not made any movements whatsoever. I even took the liberty of trying to power it myself, but to no success." Drive Knight responds.

"Odd. If it was a technological error on his part he would've fixed it by now… Unless the Screen took him away? But why?" Child Emperor wonders aloud while running through multiple theories in his head.

"Blast. Are your powers back?" Zombie Man questions the portaling hero who had stayed mostly silent throughout the viewing.

"No. But I felt a great disturbance within the dimensional space." A few confused expressions prompts him to explain further. "Its like a blade cleaved through this reality before getting redirected. As if someone was slicing through dimensions…" Blast cryptically answers while leaving a few confused and worried.

"Wait, so we were attacked? Is that why the Screen left us?" Stitch questions aloud as if someone within the theater would have the answer for them.

"But wait, that doesn't explain why Metal Knight is gone!" A random panicked associate shouts out.

"Did the Screen leave to defend the space? But why did he take some of the hero's powers?" The bearded worker questions next.

"Mr. Uncle, are you not worried about all this?" Tareo questions while looking up to Garou who just sighs before rolling his eyes.

"What's the point of worrying if there's nothin to do, kid? Just relax." Garou responds with a scoff while staring at the careless bald hero conversing with Mumen Rider. "Besides… Something tells me the bald hero can take care of whatever is going on anyways."

Meanwhile King was currently panicking as in his enjoyment of the episode he had completely forgotten that this was it. He was done for now. And with the Screen gone he'd be unprotected. Sure the screen said Saitama would probably be ok with it but what if he was mad? What if he actually held a grudge? And even if he didn't, Saitama wouldn't protect him from the others! He was basically a rat wearing a cat's hide. He's gonna be butchered…

Suddenly surprised noises emanate from the theater, prompting King to look up and around in confusion before gazing toward the screen. Immediately, his skin goes white, as the 4 words now replacing the previous ones shivered his spine.
