Chapter 11 - Killing The Father And Son - Chapter 11

Blem looked at his son.

"Son, can you smell around here?"

The little boy, transformed into a weak black wolf, shook his head. He shifted back into his human form.

"Dad, I smelled a strange scent at first, but then it suddenly vanished. Someone was probably here. They sensed us or noticed us, and that's why they disappeared."

After listening to his son, Blem frowned and scanned the surroundings.

His son's shapeshifting creature was a wolf, giving him an incomparable sense of smell. Blem believed his son without a doubt.

Someone had come to kill this family but hid when they noticed Blem and his son.

Blem felt confusion mounting.

It was too dangerous to stand by the house in the darkness.

They didn't know when or where an attack might come.

Blem looked at his son

. "Transform. Let's take a quick tour, and then we'll leave. The person hunting this family is our enemy, but we don't need to kill them if they don't attack us."

The boy immediately obeyed, transforming back into the wolf.

As soon as he shifted, he sniffed at the house. He smelled a lot of blood. The scent came directly from inside.

The young wolf suddenly charged into the house. Seeing his son run, Blem grabbed his axe from his back and followed close behind.

Blem was not inexperienced; he had fought creatures from time to time before becoming a blacksmith.

Though a flicker of fear touched him, they had to find and eliminate this killer for the village's sake.

Within ten seconds, the wolf-boy broke through the door and entered the house.

He was utterly shocked by what he saw. The weak boy's mother and father lay covered in blood, their limbs severed. Even for a shapeshifting creature, the sight was too gruesome.

At that moment, the wolf-boy felt a sharp pain in his neck.

He jumped back, large, round holes appearing in his wolf neck, blood gushing rapidly.

He knew he would die if the bleeding continued. Just then, Blem arrived, noticing the wounds on his son's wolf body.

A significant amount of blood poured from the holes.

Strangest of all, neither the wolf-boy nor Blem had seen where the attack came from. This only increased their surprise.

Blem knelt beside his son, pulling a cloth from his bag and beginning to wrap the wound.

"Calm down. I will heal you," Blem said, trying to soothe his son.

Suddenly, Blem's head detached from his body. He collapsed to the ground, covered in blood, dead.

The wolf-boy, already weak from blood loss, was powerless.

Martin killed the boy with a single blow.

Martin ran straight to his house, a wide smile on his face.

Five minutes later, he was home.

He transformed back into his human form and sat in his chair, deep in thought.

"I buried myself in the ground because of my instincts."

"After the feeling passed, I quickly entered the house and killed the mother and father. I also spread the smell of blood to create a trap.""

Martin took a deep breath and continued to analyze

"After the blood scent spread, the wolf-boy, just as I planned, rushed inside and broke down the door. He gave me an opening to attack him because he went in without a plan, and I could have killed him then."

"But I knew he wasn't alone. So I only wounded him and watched to see what he would do and if he would try to find the man who was with him." Martin then followed the wolf to Blem. Once he reached Blem, he simply killed him. The wolf was too weak to fight back, and Martin quickly finished it.

Martin felt relieved after completing all this. He had survived another great danger in the village and earned a lot of points. He checked his status to see his gains.
