Chapter 16 - sins & whiskey

The music blared throughout the room. The entire house was drowned in the sound of the bass. The heavy mental music completely absorbing any other sound in the house. Ace sat in his room staring at the speakers from which the music blasted out. He watched as the tiny speaker vibrated from the intensity of the music.

Small amounts of blood began to drip out of the cuts that were scattered across his body. His eyes moved from the speaker to the blank wall in front of him to the body spread out on his floor. The dark red blood oozed from their wounds, soaking into his carpet. Ace's eyes were dull. No spark. Nothing. He tilted his head as he watched the man wiggle around on the floor, not moving too much.

A sinister smile formed on his face as he picked up a bottle of whiskey. He chugged down half of the bottle before setting it back down on to the small table near him. His eyes danced with a dark expression. The man on the floor was terrified, trying his best to get away. Yet, because of the excessive amount of blood that he lost, he could barely keep his eyes open, let alone move around.

The music soon cut off making the entire house silent. Not a sound could be heard other than the heavy breathing coming from the half-dead man that was desperately trying to make his escape.

To Ace, this was just a game. The cat and the mouse. The mouse was never supposed to win- and sadly never did. The cat always got its prey. Swatting for it with its claws. Tormenting it. Mocking it almost. Showing them that there was absolutely no way to escape. That was exactly what Ace was going now. Mocking his victims. Taunting smiles and empty stares coming from a dark abyss in his eyes.

Although Ace was feeling rather generous to this man earlier, he has seemed to have an unpleasant change in mind. The sight of his- rather lifeless toy- barely clinging onto life made his body ignite in a feeling that was foreign and new. It was exciting, to say the least. His dull eyes hid the amusement that he was feeling. He sighed softly before standing up and staring down at his victim. That taunting smile seemed to grow as he took more and more dangerous steps towards the man. Ace's egotistical smile soon crawled onto his features when he watched the young man's face contort into a terrified expression.

Ace watched enjoying the sight of terror dancing freely around in the man's eyes. Truly calming to the beast. "Just k-" The man was cut off as he released a series of disgusting coughs. After a few coughs, blood began to spill out of his mouth. He couldn't stop it either. The crimson liquid simply pooled out of his mouth forming a puddle on the floor beneath him. "Kill me already."

There was a tremble in his voice that was undeniable. The fear completely consuming him, swallowing him whole. Ace's thoughts were drowned as he stared down at the man who- merely a second ago was trying to scramble out of the room in hopes of clinging on to his life- was not begging to be killed. A 'tsk' sound escaped Ace's lips as he kneeled down in front of the man. His sweatpants being ruined as they were dropping into the puddle of blood, absorbing its color. Ace harshly grabbed the man's jaw making him hiss in pain. "I do as I please. Understood?" Ace's voice was hard and demanding. That smile- the one where Ace showed how much power he had- was gone and replaced with an indescribable expression.

His dominance was on full display. Showing the creature in front of him that it is his way. No other options. The man's body violently trembled in fear once Ace released his jaw.

Pathetic.

That's what the man was in Ace's eyes. He was an utterly useless person laying in front of him.

Disgust.

The only emotion he felt soaring through his veins when he laid eyes on the man. Ace's emotions were scattered and caught in a wildfire. When they're released they are out of control and it makes Ace do irrational things. Yet once they cool down, it's as if nothing ever happened. Like he was the same as he's always been.

Truth be told, he hasn't been the same since Maya and Charlie had mated. Granted once they started dating Ace was slowly starting to lose his mind. Everything was a blur. He couldn't think straight. But now. Not that they mated and now that there wasn't a single possibly left in the world that she could be his again, he was gone. Tossed away from humanity. The voices in his head overpowering his thoughts and all of his senses. The only thing he urged for other than Maya was revenge. He didn't care who he had to plow over in the process, he was going to get his way. And this was only step number one.

The pain that consumed Ace was eventually melted into emptiness. His heart and head nagging at him to do two separate things slowly but surely driving him insane. He could still vividly remember everything about her. Her scent. Her smile. The way her curls would flow through the wind like an untamed beast. The way her small arms would wrap tightly around his larger frame. How soft her lips felt against his own, the way they molded so perfectly with his.

He wanted it back, and he was going to make sure that he was going to get it back. He didn't care who he lost, killed, or hurt in the process. Maya was meant for Ace and he was going to make sure that she knew that. That she knew just who she truly belonged to. Blood will be spilled and tears will be shed in the process. Yet, that was a risk that he was willing to take to have her back in his arms.

While Ace was zoned out in his daze, the man was making his way to escape. A humorless laugh filled the room, followed by a warning growl- both released by Ace. He bent down, grabbing the man's ankle and dragging him back towards him. The man screamed in pain. "So you really wanna play?" Ace questioned with a sinister smile. For the rest of the night, the once silent house was filled with tormented screams. None coming from Ace.
