Chapter 90 - Hidden Among the Serving Maids

Yeon Joo and Min-ah avoided the main corridor completely and slipped out through the narrower passage used by servants carrying laundry, kitchen supplies and buckets of water between the different buildings of the summer palace. Min-ah walked ahead without attracting attention because there was nothing unusual about seeing Suk Bin Mama's maid moving through the servants' area, while Yeon Joo kept half a step behind her with her head lowered and both hands folded in front of the plain brown skirt Min-ah had chosen for her disguise. Whenever another servant approached, she reminded herself not to straighten instinctively or look directly at the person's face, because Min-ah had already warned her that Suk Bin Mama carried herself very differently from an ordinary maid.
