Chapter 3 - The Great Misunderstanding part 1

Wong Lok noticed the troubled expression on Lau Mei's face and couldn't help but think to himself.

This girl... When it comes to matters of the heart, she always melts like a candle.

He admired Lau Mei for being hardworking and persevering, but also for being a family-oriented young woman.

Wong Lok smiled as another thought crossed his mind.

Whoever this girl eventually falls in love with will be a lucky person. When she loves someone, she gives them her all.

Lau Mei finally ended her call with her mother and was about to inform Chen Jian and Wong Lok that she needed to go home because her mother had cried just to convince her to return.

"Chen Jian... and Senior... I mean, Wong Lok, I need to go home now. My mother is worried about me," Lau Mei said, a hint of hesitation evident in her voice.

Wong Lok approached her and gently patted her shoulder.

"I understand. You should go home now since your mother is worried about you. Take Adam with you, and be careful on the road, okay?" Wong Lok said with a comforting smile.

Lau Mei picked up her belongings and headed straight toward Adam.

A few minutes later, she finally arrived home with Adam.

As soon as she entered the house, she felt a hand smack her shoulder.

"Mom! Why are you still awake? It's already past 1:00 a.m.!" Lau Mei exclaimed, shocked to see her mother still up.

"Xiao Mei! Have you already forgotten about the date I told you about, or do you really have no intention of attending?" Lau Mingxia scolded her daughter.

Lau Mei didn't even know what to say. She hadn't received a single text message from her mother since she had arrived at the car shop. It turned out that her mother had once again used her acting skills just to make her come home.

"Mom! I haven't received a single message from you since yesterday!" Lau Mei honestly replied, handing her phone to her mother.

"Oh... I must have forgotten because I was so excited about your date. Hahaha!" Lau Mingxia chuckled.

She slightly raised the back of her hand toward her mouth and laughed with the elegance of a refined princess.

"O...kay, Mom," Lau Mei replied while yawning. She desperately wanted to get some proper sleep. "Can I go to bed now? I still need at least nine hours of sleep before going back to..."

Before she could finish, her mother interrupted her and handed her a piece of paper.

"King's Hotel. Tomorrow evening, exactly at 6:00 p.m.! And, YOUNG LADY, PLEASE DRESS NICELY! I'M BEGGING YOU!" Lau Mingxia emphasized, particularly the part about her daughter's appearance.

"Okay, MOM! Can I go now?"

"Fine... Go to sleep," Lau Mingxia finally gave in. She waved her hand, signaling that the conversation was over.

The big day finally arrived.

Zhang Wei woke up with dark circles under his eyes, desperately trying to figure out how he could avoid another matchmaking arrangement made by his mother.

He was already exhausted from her constant attempts to arrange blind dates for him. His previous experience had also left him irritated and traumatized, almost as though the whole thing had been an elaborate prank orchestrated by his mother.

Then, an idea suddenly struck him.

He immediately grabbed his phone and called his friend, Lu Ting.

"Bro Ting! Wake up! Do you think it's still nighttime? It's already 10:00 a.m.! I NEED YOUR HELP!!!" Zhang Wei hurriedly shouted, giving Lu Ting no chance to interrupt.

"Uh... I'm on the other side of the Earth. Can you call me later? Besides, I know you're just playing a prank on me..." Lu Ting replied in a sleepy voice.

"But, Bro Ting, this is important! My mom has arranged another date for me!" Zhang Wei said worriedly.

"And...?" Lu Ting replied sarcastically.

"I need to ask you something. Can you help me get dressed in a woman's outfit?" Zhang Wei casually asked.

"W-WAIT... WHAT?! Am I dreaming?! The famous bachelor of the city wants to wear women's clothing?! Are you kidding me?!" Lu Ting exclaimed.

He was experiencing a mixture of emotions. At first, he felt sad, thinking that his friend had finally revealed that he was gay. Then, he became excited because this was an unexpected discovery. He wanted to laugh, but at the same time, he couldn't help wondering whether someone had spiked his friend's drink so badly that he had completely lost his mind.

"Yes. I need a casual female outfit. Do you have one?" Zhang Wei casually asked.

"You're going out...? Wait, does Auntie Zhang know about this?" Lu Ting asked, his words carrying a double meaning.

"Yes. Why? Do you have a problem with that? Well, she doesn't know anything about it yet. I want to surprise her!" Zhang Wei replied, seemingly unaware of the strange implication behind Lu Ting's question.

"Uhh... Okay. I don't have any women's clothes that would fit your size, but I know someone who does. However..."

"Well, that's fine! As long as the clothes can make me look like a lady. Oh, wait! I almost forgot! Do you know a salon that won't reveal my identity? Text me the address, okay? Bye!"

Zhang Wei hurriedly ended the call.

Lu Ting was left speechless by the sudden turn of events. He couldn't believe that his friend was actually planning to go out dressed as a woman.

To him, the situation could only mean one thing: Zhang Wei was gay!

The realization shocked him. He had never expected his supposedly straight friend to turn out to be gay.

Despite still being in shock, Lu Ting immediately called his friend, Shanxi Meihua.

Since he didn't have any women's clothes that would fit Zhang Wei's size, he decided to ask for her help. After all, he occasionally brought women to his house for some carnal activities, but he certainly didn't keep an entire wardrobe of women's clothing.

He explained Zhang Wei's situation to Shanxi Meihua, although he presented the story in a slightly different light.

As a result, Shanxi Meihua became convinced that Zhang Wei was a gay man who had been hiding his true sexuality.

At exactly 11:00 a.m., Zhang Wei arrived at the boutique.

A receptionist greeted him and escorted him to the lobby, where Lu Ting and Shanxi Meihua were waiting.

"Zhang Wei!!! Good! You're finally here! This is Shanxi Meihua. She's my sister's personal stylist. And since you're my friend, I'll support you all the way!" Lu Ting enthusiastically introduced them.

"Thanks, Lu Ting! You're the best!" Zhang Wei replied with a wide smile, looking as though he were posing for a toothpaste commercial. He even gave Lu Ting a friendly pat on the shoulder.

Lu Ting felt incredibly awkward.

Clap! Clap!

"Okay! Okay! That's enough!" Shanxi Meihua interrupted. "Lu Ting, we still have a long makeover ahead of us. Just stay here and let my team handle everything."

After saying that, Shanxi Meihua called her team, consisting of two women and two men, into the lobby.

They immediately gathered around Zhang Wei, carefully examining his physical features.

"What do you think, girls? Can we turn this man into a convincing-looking lady?" Shanxi Meihua asked, sounding as though she had doubts about their abilities.

"Of course! The only obstacle would be his own determination. So, young man, are you absolutely sure about this? You won't regret it?" one of the stylists asked Zhang Wei.

Remembering his previous blind date, Zhang Wei felt even more determined to get revenge for what his mother had put him through.

"YES! I mean, NO! I won't regret it! I want to do this, so please help me!" he answered, determination clearly visible in his eyes.

"All right, team! Take him to Room 3. I'll leave everything to you, so take good care of HER!" Shanxi Meihua emphasized the word HER to make sure her stylists understood exactly what she wanted.

"And Zhang Wei, remember this! Once you walk out of Room 3, you must start thinking of yourself as a lady. Otherwise, this entire makeover will be a failure! UNDERSTOOD?!" Shanxi Meihua instructed.

"Understood!" Zhang Wei replied.

"Lu Ting! You'd better come back after five hours. This makeover will take some time, especially since we need to transform him completely. And don't forget to change your bike into a car!" Shanxi Meihua reminded him.

She then continued in a threatening tone.

"DON'T YOU DARE BE LATE! WE LADIES DON'T LIKE WAITING TOO LONG!"

"He-he-he! Of course, I won't forget, Shanxi Meihua. See you later!" Lu Ting replied nervously.

He began walking toward the exit, but before he could step outside...

"ZHANG WEI!!!" Lu Ting suddenly shouted.

"YES... OUCH... WAIT!!!" Zhang Wei screamed.

His underarm, leg, and arm hair were being waxed all at once!

"ZHANG WEI! I'LL BE BACK LATER!!!" Lu Ting shouted before quickly stepping outside, clearly intimidated by the deadly stares of the stylists.

"AHHH... NO! DON'T GO! HUHU!!!" Zhang Wei pleaded from inside the room.

Unfortunately, no one answered him.

"HE'S GONE!" Shanxi Meihua announced.

"Ha... ha... Now that he's gone, we can finally get to work," one of the stylists remarked.

Over the following hours, the salon was filled with Zhang Wei's screams and the constant nagging of Shanxi Meihua's four stylists.

The situation eventually became so irritating that Shanxi Meihua lost her patience.

"Can you at least scream in a more feminine way?! Otherwise, I'll kick you out!" she scolded Zhang Wei.

Zhang Wei immediately tried to follow her instructions.

However, the result only made Shanxi Meihua even more frustrated.

Instead of producing high-pitched screams, his voice turned into a series of high-pitched moans, making it sound as though someone were engaging in some rather intense carnal activities.

Hearing that, Shanxi Meihua didn't even know whether she should continue believing Lu Ting's explanation about Zhang Wei.
