What can I say?” I’d never felt this kind of emotion before—the thrill of toying with my opponents. It felt incredible. Every time he had been toyed with, every time he found himself in situations like this, the outcome was always different. Even in his past, he had never experienced a feeling as overwhelming as this—finally being able to let it all out, to finally be the one in control. He never had that before. Fifty percent of dragonkind sided with the humans, helping to create Dragon Slayer Magic—a type of magic designed specifically to kill dragons. But those dragons had never truly tasted human food. They’d never had cake, steak… cooked meat. Only raw flesh. “Human meat.” No wonder they wanted war. “I’ll let them experience the delicacies of humankind. But If I must start a war just to live, then I will. But who said I fancy humanity? I just don’t want to deal with them. Their politics kill. The greed of humans…” “I just want to live in this forsaken world of greed.” The dragons started a war to remain at the top. A war against humanity. A war where they fought endlessly, driven by their hunger for humans. Humanity’s numbers fell while the dragons kept feeding. But half of dragonkind resisted. They didn’t understand why the others were eating humans. What was the point? They appreciated humanity. And so, they sparked a revolution—ushering in the War of Dragons. That revolution led to the Age of Dragon Slayers. Dragons helped humans create Dragon Slayer Magic—a magic meant to kill their own kind. And so, humanity fought back. The Age of Dragon Slaying began—the war between dragonkind and humanity erupted. I was born in the midst of it all. A dragon who hatched just before this chaos began.
