Personal heroism is not always fun.
After deduction, the stepped terrain five kilometers ahead, with excessive altitude drop and the swamp below, would make these Mechas like a flock of sheep entering a pen. Previously spread out over the vast hills, they would now have to gather downward along a narrow gentle slope. Talk of advancing side by side in three wings is just a joke.
If one insists that this joke can be realized, descending through the jump layer would be necessary, meaning activating the auxiliary thruster upon landing and temporarily becoming a slowly descending mid-air target!
Mechas are not fighters after all. Strong engines and superior terrain adaptability ultimately have limitations. If a Mecha's free-fall force exceeds the auxiliary thruster's capacity, it will still shatter into pieces.
The jump layer can be used positively or negatively. What seems to be a dead end for Leray Mechas can still be utilized.
