"Utterly pathetic."
Looking at the performance of the three Shrek students, Liu Erlong's face turned frighteningly grim.
It wasn't that she found any massive, unfixable flaws within the three students themselves. Terrible tactics and a lack of proficiency in team combat were minor issues—after all, they were still young, and there were still two years left before the grand tournament.
However, Yu Xiaogang was a completely different story. Yu Xiaogang had been relentlessly bragging in front of her about how spectacularly he had trained these Shrek students. Yet, this was the pathetic reality of his so-called elite training.
They didn't even grasp the most fundamental concept of a team: protecting their support.
"Erlong, it seems Dai Mubai simply overestimated his own capabilities. Under normal circumstances, he would have protected Oscar properly."
As a powerful Soul Saint, Flender clearly discerned the most critical factor of this match.
In the current Shrek trio, only Dai Mubai was suited to protect Oscar. Just now, Dai Mubai had been completely suppressed by Tai Long in terms of raw physical strength, leaving him with no other options.
"I don't think Dai Mubai did anything wrong. He just lacked proper intelligence on the opponent and wanted to show off his abilities, that's all."
Liu Erlong waved her hand dismissively, having no desire to dwell on that topic. However, the moment she turned her gaze toward Yu Xiaogang, her countenance instantly turned ice-cold.
"Yu Xiaogang, are these the geniuses you kept talking about? Is this how you've been training them?"
Liu Erlong barked fiercely.
Her harsh reprimand left the three Shrek students on the arena feeling incredibly humiliated, while Yu Xiaogang's face turned even darker.
"Erlong, I simply haven't instructed them on team tactics yet. The three of them aren't accustomed to tactical play either. If they had utilized their Trinity Fusion Skill, then..."
Yu Xiaogang frowned slightly, wearing an expression of intense disappointment in his students as he decisively fabricated an excuse. If Liu Erlong concluded that the fault lay with him, then according to their bet, he would no longer be permitted to see her.
How could he possibly accept that?
"Enough!"
Seeing Yu Xiaogang display such a complete lack of accountability, Liu Erlong's fury instantly ignited.
Yu Xiaogang had been exactly like this in the past.
At this moment, Liu Erlong couldn't help but feel a sudden wave of relief in her heart.
Thank goodness this spineless coward had run away back then.
"Yu Xiaogang, you are a teacher who prides himself as a Grandmaster, yet do you not even understand the concept of teaching students according to their natural talents?"
Liu Erlong's long teal hair fluttered wildly as a surge of soul power erupted from her form. She snapped right at him, "As a Grandmaster, you didn't even bother to arrange a basic strategy for them?"
"Are you blind to the fact that in this match, as long as Ma Hongjun dominated the skies while Dai Mubai protected Oscar, they could have secured a flawless victory without even breaking a sweat? Did you not teach Oscar how to evade danger and flee?"
"Did you not teach them to—?"
"Of course I have mentioned these things before..."
Yu Xiaogang was naturally unwilling to take the blame for this failure.
In truth, however, he hadn't taught them a single shred of actual tactics. For this battle, his entire plan revolved around having Dai Mubai and the others unleash their Trinity Fusion Skill to completely crush Tai Long's group.
With a Trinity Fusion Skill at their disposal, who would bother wasting time on tedious tactical positioning? Who could have anticipated that Dai Mubai and his team wouldn't even deploy the Trinity Fusion Skill?
"Enough! Yu Xiaogang, you still dare to make excuses—"
"Erlong!"
Knowing Liu Erlong's volatile temper, Flender quickly yelled out to intervene.
He absolutely did not want the relationship between the three members of the Golden Iron Triangle to shatter right here.
"Enough out of you too, Flender!"
Liu Erlong's fiery temperament had certainly not vanished just because she had taken up reading to cultivate her mind; she had merely learned to suppress it in her daily life.
But now, just to avoid looking at Yu Xiaogang's repulsive, miserable face, she no longer cared about preserving the mutual affection of their past relationship.
"You have the nerve to speak up? Isn't Ma Hongjun your personal disciple? Is this how you teach him to fight—hovering aimlessly in mid-air without moving a single inch?"
"Sure, Ma Hongjun's Evil Fire is incredibly destructive, and even staying stationary is enough to output massive damage. But what happens when an opponent is willing to disregard all danger just to trade lives with him?"
"As a Soul Master with an Owl Martial Soul, you know exactly how to dodge the attacks of powerful foes. Do you honestly believe a Fire Phoenix doesn't need to learn how to evade incoming strikes?"
"This disaster is the result of the sheer negligence of you two!"
This time, Liu Erlong spared absolutely no one's feelings.
"Erlong, Dai Mubai and the others only have three members. How could I possibly arrange a more intricate strategy for them? This isn't a seven-man team battle!"
Seeing Liu Erlong shift her firepower toward Flender, Yu Xiaogang immediately seized the opportunity to dig up a brand-new excuse to justify the failure.
But explanations were nothing more than mere excuses.
To the current Liu Erlong, Yu Xiaogang was utterly worthless.
She let out a couple of cold sneers, looking at Yu Xiaogang with undeniable disdain.
"Is that so? Tell me, just because there are only three of them, they don't need to learn the tactics of a seven-man team battle? A little deficient now, a little deficient in the future?"
"I seriously doubt whether you even possess the qualifications to teach these students. Is it because you haven't even reached Rank 30 yourself, so you have absolutely no grasp of the speed and power of high-level Soul Masters?"
"That's why you have no concept of preparing tactics beforehand, or the sheer importance of letting students master tactical play ahead of time. Any Defense-type Tool Soul Master worth their salt possesses one unwavering conviction—and that is to protect their support at all costs."
"No matter how the tactics shift, no matter how dire the crisis becomes, they will pour everything they have into protecting the support. This mindset is ingrained in them from the moment their Martial Souls awaken—"
"Heck, even before awakening, elders specifically remind them of this. Could it be that you failed to send Ma Hongjun and the others to a Junior Soul Master Academy, leaving them completely oblivious to such elementary rules?"
Ever since Liu Erlong had taken up reading, her eloquence had dramatically improved.
In a matter of minutes, she completely demolished the "Grandmaster," leaving Yu Xiaogang utterly speechless.
"Thinking back on it now, although our Golden Iron Triangle achieved grand fame back then, we were far inferior to the Unrivaled Dragon Serpent. I'm beginning to think that was entirely your fault."
"Otherwise, why is it that a Soul Fusion Skill between a Soul Emperor and a Soul King can successfully repel a Titled Douluo?"
"Yet, when we had higher base soul power ranks, faced greater difficulty, and summoned the Golden Holy Dragon—which should have possessed far greater fusion intensity—we were still nowhere near as powerful as the Unrivaled Dragon Serpent."
"It was you who dragged us down all along, wasn't it?"
Liu Erlong's face was completely awash with contempt.
The sheer humiliation dripping from her tone caused Yu Xiaogang's expression to turn frighteningly dark. Yet, even so, Yu Xiaogang found himself with no words to offer in rebuttal.
Because their Soul Fusion Skill manifested by summoning a Martial Soul outside of their bodies to fight, rather than achieving a complete physical merger like the Hell White Tiger.
Consequently, their Soul Fusion Skill suffered from a fatal, glaring flaw—and that flaw was Yu Xiaogang, a Rank 29 piece of trash who couldn't even break past Rank 30.
"Liu Erlong, since you think so little of me, why did you agree to marry me back then?"
Left with no logical counterargument, Yu Xiaogang could only resort to digging up their past.
"Because this old lady was blind back then, actually believing in your dogshit theories!"
Liu Erlong roared furiously, unleashing explicit profanity without a care.
"You... you... you... Liu Erlong, you are insulting my intellect!"
Yu Xiaogang instantly became frantic.
He felt his blood boiling within his veins, and a sudden wave of physical discomfort washed over him. When it came to attacks on his intellect that was the one thing Yu Xiaogang absolutely refused to tolerate.
Scolding him or criticizing him previously could easily be brushed off as mere oversight on his part. But calling his theories dogshit completely invalidated his entire life's work. Throwing all caution to the wind, Yu Xiaogang glared fiercely at Liu Erlong and snapped back immediately.
"My theories were published and distributed on a massive scale by Spirit Hall! How could they possibly be dogshit? Do you honestly think you understand Martial Souls better than Spirit Hall?"
"Who knows if a certain someone simply opened a back door for you? You should stop taking theories discovered by predecessors, slapping them into a summary, and claiming them as your own."
"Shameless bastard."
At this point, Liu Erlong had completely lost any desire to argue with him further.
"Get lost, Yu Xiaogang. I don't want to see your face inside Blue Tyrant Academy ever again."
Hearing Liu Erlong's ruthless words, Yu Xiaogang felt as though his heart had shattered into pieces. But very quickly, a torrential wave of fury surged into his chest, and he bellowed at the top of his lungs:
"Fine! I'll get lost!"
