AUTHOR'S POV
The morning class dragged on slower than usual for Jayjay.
Or maybe it only felt that way because of him.
Levi.
He sat beside her like he had always belonged there, calm and unreadable, occasionally writing notes as Sir Alvin discussed the lesson. But every so often, Jay-Jay would feel it—his glance, brief but intentional, like he was waiting for the right moment.
And she knew Levi well enough to know that meant something was coming.
When the bell finally rang for lunch, the entire class erupted into noise.
Chairs scraped, bags zipped, and Section E immediately turned chaotic.
"Finally!" Rory stretched his arms.
"I am starving," Drew complained.
"Same," Felix added while grabbing his bag.
Ci-N leaned toward David and Josh, already talking about food plans, while Mayo and Kit walked together laughing about something only they understood.
Keifer, however, stayed where he was.
His eyes were on Levi.
Jayjay stood up slowly, expecting Levi to just leave like everyone else.
But he didn't.
Instead, he closed his notebook and spoke quietly.
"Come with me."
Jay-Jay blinked. "What?"
Levi already stood. "We need to talk."
The room noise covered most of their conversation, but Keifer caught the movement immediately.
"Where are you going?" Keifer asked, sharper than intended.
Jayjay paused for half a second.
"Lunch," she said simply.
Levi didn't explain further. He just walked out first.
And after a moment, Jayjay followed.
---
They ended up at the quiet hallway near the back stairwell—far from Section E, far from noise.
Only then did Levi stop.
"Why are you here?" Jayjay said, folding her arms.
Levi didn't waste time.
"The Head wants to see you."
Jayjay's expression changed instantly.
"…Now?"
He nodded once.
No explanation. No detail.
Just that.
Jay-Jay exhaled slowly. "Of course they do."
Levi watched her carefully. "You're not surprised."
"I'm never surprised when it comes to them," she replied.
A short silence passed between them.
Then Levi added, quieter this time:
"I wasn't told why. Just that it's urgent."
Jayjay's eyes narrowed slightly. "That's never a good sign."
Levi gave a small, knowing look. "You already knew that."
Without another word, they turned back.
And just like that, they returned to Section E separately—no one noticing they had even left together.
---
Back inside the classroom, chaos had only grown louder.
"Where did Levi go?" Rory asked.
"Wait, and Jayjay too?" Ci-N added.
Keifer straightened immediately.
"What do you mean they left?"
Felix shrugged. "They just… disappeared."
Josh frowned. "That's weird."
David looked toward the door. "Did they go somewhere together?"
That question made the room pause for half a second longer than usual.
Keifer's jaw tightened.
"No way," he said flatly, but his voice didn't sound convinced.
Rory smirked slightly. "Why? You jealous or something?"
"I'm not," Keifer snapped immediately.
But the timing was too quick.
Too defensive.
Because the truth was—
he didn't like the way Levi and Jay-Jay moved like they shared something nobody else was allowed to understand.
And he liked it even less that Jay-Jay didn't explain a single thing when she came back.
Not even to him.
