Chapter 96 - In the End

The beach wedding was a masterpiece of elegance and chaotic joy. Three months of planning had culminated in a day where the scent of sea salt mingled with the fragrance of thousands of roses.

The Grand Entrance

Inside the bridal suite, the air was thick with hairspray and the nervous energy of the bridal party. Amanda sat like a porcelain doll while Celia and Winter buzzed around her.

"Open your eyes, you little girl!" Celia screeched, lightheartedly tapping Amanda's cheek. "It's your wedding day, not a nap session!"

"I'm so sleepy," Amanda mumbled, her eyelids heavy. "I've been feeling so tired lately..."

"Don't tell me you're having cold feet," Celia teased, leaning in.

Amanda's eyes snapped open, and she regained her usual spark. She pointed a finger at Celia's neck. "Don't talk to me about feet when you can't even cover that hickey on your neck with professional-grade concealer!"

Celia turned bright red, stuttering as Winter giggled into her bridesmaid bouquet. The victory was short-lived, however, as Diego knocked on the door.

"Girls, time's up," Diego said, stepping inside. He froze for a moment, looking at his sister in her flowing, ethereal blue-tinted wedding dress. "You look... okay, I guess."

Amanda stood up and hugged him. "You're a terrible liar, Diego. Just take me to the altar before I change my mind and run away to a spa."

The Aisle and the "Hungry Wolf"

The ceremony was set against the backdrop of the crashing waves. As the music began, Kevin Solis took his daughter's hand, his eyes misty. "Go on, Dad will take you the rest of the way," he whispered.

Amanda walked down the rose-covered stone path, her gaze locked onto the man waiting at the end. Quentin stood in a pristine white suit, looking every bit the prince she had dreamed of. When they met halfway, Kevin placed Amanda's hand in Quentin's.

"I'm leaving the rest of the journey to you, Quentin," Kevin said solemnly.

"Don't worry, Dad," Quentin replied, his voice thick with emotion. He looked at Amanda, his eyes roaming over her face. "You are breathtaking today."

"Just today?" Amanda teased, arching a brow.

Quentin didn't bother answering with words. In a move that shocked the guests and left the MC speechless, he swept Amanda off her feet, carrying her bridal-style toward the altar.

"Quentin! Put me down! Everyone is watching!" she hissed, though she was beaming.

"Let them watch," Quentin laughed. "I've waited two lifetimes for this. I'm not letting go."

"Hey, Quentin! Slow down! We get it, you're desperate!" Derrick shouted from the front row.

Quentin didn't even look back. "You don't have a wife, Derrick! You wouldn't understand!"

The entire assembly erupted in laughter as the "cool and collected" President Harris practically ran to the finish line to claim his bride.

The Bouquet and the Afterparty

After the vows were exchanged and a kiss that seemed to last an eternity sealed their fate, it was time for the festivities.

"Madam! Throw the bouquet!" Secretary James shouted, waving his arms like a madman. "I need to get married next year or I'll die of overwork!"

Quentin narrowed his eyes playfully. "I'm not throwing it to you, James. I'm opening a branch in Europe next year; if you get married, who am I going to exploit?"

James's face went pale, and the guests roared with laughter. Amanda, feeling a bit of pity for the "single dogs," turned her back and tossed the bouquet. The red flowers soared through the air and landed squarely in the arms of... Celia.

The crowd went wild. Celia immediately tried to shove the flowers into Diego's hands, while the Lugo and Solis parents began clinking glasses and planning the next wedding.

The Rebirth

As the sun began to set over the ocean, Amanda stood on the balcony of the reception hall, watching the waves. Quentin stepped up behind her, pulling her into his warmth.

"Wife," he murmured.

Amanda turned in his arms, her heart full. "Quentin... I love you."

Quentin's grip tightened. "I love you too. More than words."

He leaned down for another sweet, lingering kiss, only to be interrupted by the sound of a glass breaking and Diego shouting.

"I have to go rescue your brother from the tequila," Quentin sighed, kissing her forehead. "Wait for me in the room."

"Go on, pervert," Amanda joked, giving him a playful shove.

As he walked away, Amanda watched his retreating figure. The noise of the party faded into the background. She whispered into the wind, her voice trembling with a secret joy:

"I was reborn just to love you."

Quentin stopped and turned back, sensing her call. "What was that? I didn't hear you!"

Amanda wiped a tear from her eye and waved him off with a bright smile. "I said don't drink too much!"

The Epilogue: A Calculated Surprise

The wedding night, however, did not go as Quentin had imagined.

He had intended to be the "hungry wolf," but the moment he stepped into the suite smelling of expensive champagne, Amanda turned green. She spent the first three hours of their marriage in the bathroom, vomiting until her face was ghostly pale.

By 2:00 AM, they were in the emergency room.

The doctor walked in with a clipboard and a confused expression. "Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Harris. You're about fourteen weeks pregnant."

Amanda's jaw dropped. "Fourteen weeks? But we were so careful! How?"

Quentin's mind flashed back to a certain rainy night at a cheap motel... and a "torn" condom he had conveniently decided not to mention. He looked at the ceiling, suddenly very interested in the hospital's lighting fixtures.

Amanda saw the guilt written all over his face. She realized in an instant that her "calculating" husband had played one last trick on her.

"Quentin Harris!" she yelled, her voice echoing through the maternity ward.

The great President of the Harris Group was kicked straight off the hospital bed that night. For the first two months of their "happily ever after," the most powerful man in the city found himself sleeping on the velvet sofa in the living room, learning that while he might be the boss of the company, Amanda was—and always would be—the boss of his heart.
