"Yes, Fan told me beforehand, and I was actually the one who swapped out the herbs for him. I was worried the city lord would find out, but everything seems to have worked out today," Liam answered.
"Your city lord is dead," Euphoria told him.
Liam's face remained blank. He had expected all along that the city lord would not survive once his actions came to light.
"Our city desperately needs a new leader." The corners of Liam's mouth curved up slightly.
Once Goru was out of danger, the orc who had carried him there picked him up again. He told them he would look after Goru and that they should not worry.
Euphoria explained the day's events to Lian, leaving her completely stunned.
She never realized the city lord could be so wicked, but she was glad Fan and the others had switched the herbs ahead of time. Today had been incredibly dangerous.
