The cool night breeze swept through the busy streets of the commercial district. Rick dropped Lily off at the glowing night market, making sure she was safe. He tossed a thick wad of cash onto Uncle Ben's flimsy metal table and ignored the older man's frantic attempts to give it back.
Before leaving the humble food stall, Rick bought two large, steaming portions of egg fried rice. He packed them carefully into an insulated bag. He knew a certain strict, hard-working surgeon was sitting in an empty office right now, forgetting to eat.
Rick drove his expensive, matte-black Koenigsegg Gemera through the quiet, late-night traffic. The powerful engine rumbled with a low purr as he smoothly pulled the sports car into the VIP parking lot of St. Jude's Hospital.
